Name: Benny “Vex” Miller
Rank: Lieutenant
Operation: Task Force Delta
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: With the task force he was with his buddies. Within the team he was well respected. He was always reliable. If given an order he would carry it out in his own way, but usually succeed with no drawbacks or incidents. He is slightly headstrong, likely to act on impulse unless the situation requires strict, orderly action. The common folks, pacifists, and the other branches of the military he holds with a underhanded disregard. Not enough to cause major problems, but enough to lead to some scuffles. This does not affect his honor or convictions to protect those in need.
He was a joker of types, offering puns and comical relief where appropriate (and sometimes when its not as appropriate) He was not very religious, but with what he has seen…..he has come to a new understanding.
After the loss of the squad he has some doubts. He’s trying to decide what his thoughts are in this new world, leading to some rash decisions.
Bio: He lead a normal life, following his brother’s path he joined the Marines after college. Passing basic with flying colors he was pulled into the officer program. Before he could finish, he was selected for Military police where he served for two years. He was reassigned to a new task force, Task Force Delta. He has served in Task Force Delta since, going on special ops missions in conjunction with other operations.
Operation Black Eagle: The loss of contact with the City of Chicago brought most of Military attention in. In the first days of the incident Task Force Delta was recalled from a high priority mission in the middle east. This was taking priority.
Contact with a research and application site in Chicago, Codename: Eagle’s Nest, was lost. Task Force Delta’s primary directive was to insert, secure, and defend Eagle’s Nest against the “Terrorist” threat. If it could not be defended they had orders to destroy the Nest. A simple mission for Task Force Delta. Only there was one complication. They would be cut off, the source of the black zone was still yet to be discovered, but there would be no contact once they had inserted and they had no idea what they were getting into.
Insertion went as planned, no problems. Chicago had gone to hell (literally) and they lost contact. They pressed on on foot when their choppers were shot down by unidentified weapons. The terrorists had some high tech weaponry by the looks of things.
There were no problems as they reached Eagle’s Nest They were about to enter when hell rained down upon their heads, or was it holy fire? There was nothing Delta could do in seconds three were down before they even saw who was attacking them. Once they did it didn’t make any sense, humans with wings that gave off powerful auras were attacking each other and the squad. The three remaining soldiers fell back to the entrance of “Eagle’s Nest” but they too were cut down. Vex was the only one with only minor injuries so the squad leader ordered him to fall back and get reinforcements. These “beings’ that were fighting sword to sword, axe to axe, and seemed to be firing explosives from seemingly thin air needed to be stopped.
Vex retreated, only looking back to see his squad lead detonate the 20 pounds of c-4 they had brought to demo. He escaped, barely. Whatever was going on it clearly was not Terrorists and he needed to find back up to warn command.
