Wonderful post, ERode. I'm thinking Lunaire may be lost. We'll wait if we can. Thoughts?
guys I my daughter was born last tuesday. I'm catching back up on everything today. DONT PANIC
We're waiting on Lunaire and ERode. Don't worry about sticking strictly to details. Whatever you guys can come up with, I can work with. My next post will put us all on track.
We can assume that Ivy has been on the island for X time for the sake of people posting. Though we won't stretch this beyond a day or two, in-game. I would like all the islanders to be pretty alien to their new environment, starting off.

I would like some kind of word from ERode, so I can get an idea for the direction of his character, and how it will all fall together. Everything is workable, so no stress at all.

The main thing, is I want all the first posts to be happy and optimistic. The decay will be gradual. I'll make it clear when things are getting bad.
Precisely, Lunaire. The firmament doesn't shatter, it fades. Slowly deteriorating, much due to the incoming contaminants from the outer world.

I must ask, Lunaire, Estylwen, do you see how neatly the two characters you've created fit together? Avis' uncle is a mine worker, Ivy's father, a researcher in the field of renewable energy. One could presume that somewhere along the lines, they met and perhaps Orin somehow obtained a stone that Avis' uncle discovered. Maybe he was ordered or swindled out of it, either way, maybe he stowed a fragment of it in the airship he left to his niece?

Character sheet reposted here for reference.

Lunaire, the artifact will be a piece of stone, that, after examination, Orin discovered it shared unique properties to any and every other material on earth, previously discovered. You can say that Orin brought you along for the search for more of it. I will likely kill him off if he does come, but that can go either way. Being that Orin's trade is discovering renewable sources of energy, this could be our plot device to bring mayhem to Vue de Mer. I'll explain how the stone works during play. What you can know is, the stone's power is wavering. Inconsistent. So you may likely have traces of memories, even if it does try to erase them. It activates based on intentions. It is magical and sensitive to emotions and some of the electro-activity, however faint, in the brain.

You can decide the size yourself. Make it medium or small in size. Even the size of a pebble wouldn't hurt. I'm going to say that it's a piece of the island itself, but how it escaped will remain unsaid for now.

I'm ready for another IC post! whoever is ready, go ahead and jump in!
Been turning it over in my head and haven't thought of any. I leave it to you. Get creative.
Lunaire, I like your whole character. You've given me loads to work with. I appreciate your effort.
Currently I'm still debating what specifically the artifact would be. Considering there is no other evidence of anyone ever going to or from the utopia, our selection will could give a lot of insight on the origin of the place itself. I've got a couple ideas for how the island came to be, but it's all in the works.

Estylwen, I thought about having you change your character to an islander, but I'm going to work with what you've got. The magical item has to go, however. The only one who has special access to the island would be Lunaire's character. She opened the door for all others to enter, including the world government, though not intentionally.

ERode, take your time! My statement with starting this project was that it would take awhile, a slow pace, so there's really no pressure. I do reserve the right to move this thing along as I feel appropriate, however. Keep that in mind, should you take more than a couple weeks to participate.

(On a side note, I'm thinking of adding one other person, maybe just as a cameo from my past of Rping, to this. If only for one or two posts after we get started. I haven't done anything with them in awhile and the idea came to me during lunch the other day. If there are no objections I may ask her if she wants to write a stand-alone post just to add some substance.)
I wasn't really planning on you playing an outside character, but I couldn't help but enjoy reading your character sheet. You guys are wonderful writers. I'm going to switch things up a bit. Perhaps ERode will join us and play another islander and I can pair us two-and-two(native/outsider). Tawara could meet with one of you and ERode's character with the other. Then we crash in the middle somewhere to make the group.

So, a question or a few, Anime.Basically, the plot is something along the lines of...slice of life in the island before the Fire Nation comes, right? Does that mean that all characters should be World Government, or something else?

We would play the inhabitants of the island. Lunaire was the only outsider I'd considered. Though, turning it over in my head, if you guys all played outsiders, then I could use my character as an abstract narrative to guide you "outsiders" through the story. Tawara being born and raised in Perle cachees means he would be the only one familiar with it(though my vision for the landscape/etc is still vague).

Lunaire, your CS is good. Post it in the OOC for later reference. I've got a couple comments but I'll put in them in the OOC thread

ERode, glad to have you. That makes four of us, and if you're up for this slow-parade of a roleplay, then I'll cap the player limit with you.
You've grasped the concept pretty well. I don't like the soft features of the characters in the picture you linked, but the rest of it looks good. My original intention was to have us play inhabitants of the island and then the invaders would start with a drip, to a trickle, then a crushing tsunami--if you like analogies-- I would introduce an outsider among the crowds of our characters everyday lives, and then as their curiosity peaked, the storm would come.

Estylwen, please, call me 76 or SeventysiX.

Once ERode confirms or denies participation, I'll have this thread closed and we'll move to the OOC. I'll have this thread locked and put a link in the OOC for later reference.
