Upon hearing her question, Benjamin wanted to answer that he has lived in Mystic Falls since it's founding but decided against it since it was no secret that the female before him, Cynthia, was indeed a witch. He chuckled slightly at the last words she spoke then leaned back in his seat. "Well, I've been here all my life. You know, since I was a little kid." He said while now leaning up a little bit and looked towards Cynthia. "I've traveled away from this place a few times though but I always come back on this night." He added while turning to face her now, raising a slight brow. "What about you? Do you live here or am I going to be the fool?" He laughed while leaning back into his seat again, his eyes not leaving her view.
As he waited for an answer from her, Benjamin remembered when he attended the first annual Mystic Falls name day, or whatever it was called back then. He was a mere child, running around in the dirt and getting all dirtied up, only to have his parents yell at him for dirtying himself up. As always, he laughed at them and got a beating from his father but that grew tiring since it happened every single year.
It was about the tenth Mystic Falls festival he attended when he met a female named Natalie and he was instantly in love with her. They met and her family were very wealthy while his was more like middle class. She loved him and he loved her and they had sort of a forbidden affair. Neither one of them cared about the consequences but it was one night when Benjamin found out who and what she really was. It was a full moon lit night and he was walking alongside Natalie, talking and laughing. It was about fifteen minutes in their conversation where Natalie eyes glowed a dark red color and she was chasing him throughout the woods until he tripped and she straddled over him.
Benjamin screamed but Natalie silenced him with a bit to his neck though not killing him, transforming him into one of her kind. He gasped and shuddered out of his memory then grabbed Cynthia's arms, wrapping his hands around them a bit roughly. Once again, he gasped then eyed Cynthia, sincerely apologizing then getting up from his seat and pacing from side to side, inhaling and exhaling.
When she spoke his name, the way it rolled off of his tongue seemed like it belonged there but of course, she was going to keep that to herself. The whisper in her ear sent out a signal that made her smile towards him and shake her head. "You're really funny. I like that." She mentioned while continuing to speak with Bryce. "You're from New Orleans?! Oh, my gosh. Me too!" She mentioned with excitement while rambling on about she was brought up and what schools she attended and why her and her parents had to leave town. She didn't add the fact that it was because of a witch hunt but instead told him it was for better financial opportunities.
She smiled up towards him, hiding her true sad feelings from him right now. Her eyes looked around The Grill as business was beginning to bustle for the establishment as she chugged down her last shot. "Thanks, Eddie." She smiled towards him with a wink then stood up. She eyed Bryce and heard his questions then stammered for a response. She bit her bottom lip a bit nervously, chuckling while lowering her head then rose it back up, removing a few stands from over her eyes.
Savannah looked Bryce in the eyes again then walked closer to him, wrapping her arm around his and shrugged her shoulders. "Sure. Why not? I mean, what's the worst that could happen, huh?" She laughed at her words then proceeded to walk arm in arm alongside with Bryce.
