JoJo's jaw slacked as she watched the violent interaction unfold. A fellow student had attacked a guard! That was just asking for trouble, that much she knew. The person that the boy attacked did not react. Rather, a guard at the door pulled out his taser in response- a drawing of his weapon that Jo caught from the corner of her eye. "No!" Of course, her warning was without result as the electric current coursed through the boy. She slapped a hand over her mouth. She was tempted to interfere... But her fear and shock kept her in place.

"We've all negotiated," Jo called out quickly. "We negotiated in order to be a part of this study. It's compromising. We agreed to undergo this experimentation and training... In turn, we get our lives back. A purpose. Better lives, maybe. It's really a gamble."

Though, negotiating with Vlad? That seemed far fetched... He had struck her as the type of man not keen on negotiations. He wanted things his way. He considered himself God. And how do you negotiate with a God or a man who deemed himself such? He just didn't seem rational or even in his right mind.

The Experiment

Joanna shifted her dark green eyes back and forth, turning her head slightly in attempt to familiarize herself with her surroundings. Two uniformed guards led her down the halls, their heavy boots made their arrival able to be heard. A single notebook and pen in hand, she wondered what this first class would entail. However, striking a conversation with either of the guards was intimidating.

It had been a relatively long time since Jo had been in a formal school setting. The blonde teenager took the time it took traveling from her room to the classroom to steel her nerves. Conditions were rough and the air was tense. As she approached the room, she saw a girl being carried by two other guards. This made her realize just how heavy patrol was. She wondered what the girl did, and what was going to happen.

"Hurry up," She was given a push into the room. "You're running late." And just like that, the girl and guards vanished down the hall.

"Watch it!" It was mostly an impulsive response, and she stepped into the room. Her eyes searched the room, examining the other students and the guard in front of the room. She lifted a hand in a half wave before making her way to a vacant seat. Battle tactics and negotiations is what the man - Maxwell - had declared would be the focus.

Personality
Although quite mischievous, Jo has decent morals and a strict code of honor. Given her criminal history, she is liable to feel guilt for her wrongdoings. She is selfish and possessive of her belongings. She enjoys having fun and pulling pranks. Silly is another trait she has. While she is lacking in people skills, that does not keep her from socializing - which might result in her invading personal space or crossing boundaries sometimes. She has a kind heart, though her intentions do not always fulfilled. Once she connects with someone, she becomes clingy.

Ability
Jo had been granted an ability that emphasized skills she had developed earlier on. Stealthy, lithe and agile, Jo is now comparable to say, a thieving monkey. This monkey likeness is further enhanced by a long, slender tail that is possible to use to grasp things and support her weight. Granted her abilities, Jo can be seen climbing, swinging, hanging, pulling pranks and sneaking about.
It is a goal to build Jo's combatant skill so that she may be a martial artists or tai jutsu artist. She however lacks the brute strength as well as the drive.

Biography
Raised in an orphanage, Jo has a very faint recollection of her biological parents. In the poor conditions, resources were scarce. Therefore, orphans were made to compete and fight for things like food. Not physically adept, Jo could not fight off bullies. Instead, she opted in reserving her share in a clever way. The young girl would take her rations, occasionally pick-pocketing on occasion and stash them. She would climb along beams, creep through vents and find nooks to hide her items.
On the rare occasions, Jo would share her rations with fellow orphans if they had nothing else. She befriended a few. And it was with this group, she parted from the orphanage at age 14. They stole to get by, some pan handled others swindled folks out of cash.
At age 15, a robbery gone wrong led to her arrest. She was placed in a juvenile facility.

Some Ideas Explained

Arranged Marriage
A country was once whole, but has been divided into two separate Kingdoms in distance years. Recently, there have been an outbreak of violence between the kingdoms: assaults, murders, mobs, gang violence, et cetera. The rulers of the kingdoms meet to discuss and after coming to agreeable terms, decide to reunite the nation so that everyone may learn from their example and set aside their differences and peacefully coexist. To seal this deal, they marry their children. Back in the day, deciding your child's spouse was not particularly unheard of. So, maybe one of they is in a secret relationship or is an 'adulterer'/'player', so that could be a conflict. Or, for some other drama, after they have been wed, one of the families reveal their true intentions: to overthrow the other and have total control. Though by the time this surfaces, they have already fallen in love and can't carry out the plan.

Dark Circus
So, I had this idea of a corrupt ring leader. In the past, some people have criticized the circus industry for exploiting the attractions for their peculiar abilities or strange birth defects. I thought that the ring leader (or owner) would be interested solely in the money that his circus earns with its growing notoriety. He dedicated his life to scientifically experimenting on people which has proved to be a lucrative business as long as it is kept under wraps: altering genes, joining people together, crossing animals, giving people animalistic traits or tendencies, or what have it. The victims are almost always orphaned children, who are manipulated or brainwashed into believing the ring leader has their best interest so they have a great loyalty to him (or her). Perhaps they forget about the experimentation. Maybe an individual (or group of individuals) uncovers one of his experiments or laboratory or some other dark secret and begins to question.

Slave and Master
I'll only do this if there is a plot. This pairing usually welcomes smut, but I prefer a plot with my story. Also, maybe the typical roles may be switched: The slave becomes the dominant player. Or it can be more romantic than sexual.

Orphanage
Perhaps these two characters grew up together, looked out for one another and created a bond. This could go many routes. Perhaps one is adopted. Perhaps they decide to run away. Perhaps there could be a vampiric spin. I have an idea that I need to flesh out. If interested, PM me.

So, I'm still relatively new here, still getting a feel for the site. It hasn't even been a week yet, but no point in waiting since I am here. Hehe. This list does not conclude all of my interests. I would be open to many things. Hope to here from some of you!
