I don't know I think just the whole the people in that time seem to show the most resilience and stubbornness in the face of doom or danger and the stories that cake from that is something amazing.

I have been searching and seeing if i can find a few greek like roleplays if not i love to do some brainstorming with you in PM and we can come up witha cool roleplay idea

Haha, I think I'll have to agree with you there! There are so many engaging stories both in Greek mythology and in Greek history - epic wars, heroes, and a lot of other fun stuff. In addition to all of the interesting advances in philosophy, art, and literature around that time. :)

I see you've made an Interest Check in 1x1 which is definitely a good step. Here are some RPs I've seen that you might be into: Tales of Calradia (Historical / Group / Military in Free), The Black Bulls (Magic / Heroics / Fantasy - Casual Interest Check), Erelith (Danger, Ambition, Military Fantasy - Free). If you'd like to do some Greek-inspired RP you're free to PM me and we can cook up some ideas.
@MythicalAvenger Hey there, nice to see you!

What is it about the Greek time period that you like? I'm also a big fan of the Hellenistic period, and I think there are others who are as well. If you look at roleplays tagged 'historical', you might even find some RPs that are specific to that period (or you can start your own and invite me!).

That's definitely a new one for me. I'm sure there are some good 1x1s out there, though.

Good luck and welcome!

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

@scriptfox Hey Script, welcome! There are a lot of boards (Free, Casual, Advanced, etc..) with individual RPs posted, each with tags displaying whether they're open to new players and what genre(s) they fit into. It can be quite confusing, so feel free to shoot me a PM (which you can do from an option on my profile) if you'd like some nudging or just want to talk! :)
I can be rather violent when I sleep, so that'd be very nice indeed.
@Iuniper There's the standard D&D races, which in the current edition are:

  • Aaracokra
  • Aasimar
  • Bugbear
  • Dragonborn
  • Dwarf
  • Elf
  • Firbolg
  • Genasi
  • Gnome
  • Goblin
  • Goliath
  • Halfling
  • Half-elf
  • Half-orc
  • Hobgoblin
  • Human
  • Kenku
  • Kobold
  • Lizardfolk
  • Orc
  • Tabaxi
  • Triton
  • Tiefling
  • Yuan-ti

And that's if you don't include the third-party source material which adds merfolk and vampires just as a start. Some of the others sound like what furries use to describe various biological abominations resulting from cramming human anatomy into an animal's physiology. :Joke

Also, play the Elder Scrolls games Morrowind or Skyrim.

Wow I obviously didn't read the entire 5e manual. I'll check some of those out. Maybe I'll just be a bear.

The Elder Scrolls games are what I'd call "first-person adventure simulator" games, not RPGs unfortunately.
@The One Oh wow, I've never heard of that race before. Do you have any RPG game recommendations? Obviously I've not played enough.
@RavetheRogue Welcome! If you're into playing more tabletop, there is a Tabletop board where you can join someone else's campaign or make one of your own, should you feel up to the task (and from your experience, it sounds like it'd be easy for you). :)
Many many species. Neko, Inumi (Dog) Kitsune (Fox) Lupine (Wolf) Orc could be considered human ish. Lalafell, Dwarf, Halfling, Half Dwarf, Sun Elf, Moon Elf, High Elf, Dark Elf, Woof Elf, there are so many species and there from the top of my head.

Aye, I guess there's more beyond the elf/dwarf/orc races. I've not heard of some of the ones you've mentioned, though. Much thanks.

I'll throw up an ex-prisoner human character in a bit.
