Aria's eyes fell forward to gaze at the door as Cronic mentioned the past. Before they met, the shop was lonely and eerily silent most of the time. All the war child needed was some interaction with someone normal, or normal-ish, that knew how a world outside of battle worked. "Been fighting the Dominion since I was a kid, hows about that for a bedtime story?" Aria started, "Killed everyone I know, burned our homes to the ground, and I got drafted into the Imperial Resistance... I can still feel mom's cold arms around me some nights, keeping me away from the Thalmor's blades... Heh, I could tell you the whole tale, but you would probably fall asleep about ten minutes in. I remember it all like it was yesterday... What about you?"
"I'm starting to feel like Skyrim just hates us," Aria mumbled as the stray cat marched down the stairs, fully expecting to have been curled up on the foot of Cronic's bed by this time of night. It rubbed against the wall beside Cronic's bedroll and purred loudly. Aria was staring at the ceiling, waiting to fall asleep... Not that she wanted to. It wasn't the assassins, dragons, vampires, dragon cultists, OR draconic vampire cultist assassins. Just the nightmares. Always the nightmares... (Thee may skip to the morning if he wants to! That, or a heart-to-heart about respective character histories or something. Cronic's choice.)
"Who do you think could be so pissed off that they set the best assassins in Tamriel on us!?" Aria complained before shutting the door behind Cronic. Right now his basement idea sounded pretty good! Huffing in stress, the redhead slumped back into her chair behind the desk and stared at the ceiling. Danger was everywhere now, and it all seemed to be surrounding the two random Odd Jobs workers. "Doesn't matter... I just wanna sleep without getting murdered. You're staying down here tonight. One of us is bound to wake up just as the other gets their throat opened!"
Aria was naturally in guard mode by now. The Vampire was on their side, or so it seemed, and that assassin's arrow? He was either here as backup or to 'police' the Vampire on his mission. Or maybe, someone pulled the black-fucking-sacrament, and Aria or Cronic were now firmly in danger every second of every day. Aria hoped for the former! The half-Akaviri was tempted to yell, 'you missed!', but she didn't want to tempt fate, not after surviving so many dangerous battles over the past week. "Cronic, I'm going home now. We're bolting it shut like I said." Aria chirped along nervously before running off down the street back towards the shop.
"What if I told you... You two might have the skill to put a stop to the greater Vampire threat to Skyrim? Believe me, this goes waaaay deeper than a horde of my bloodsucking brethren roaming the land looking for necks to bite," The vampire suggested, losing his smug attitude. He sounded sincere as he continued, "What mortals are looking at is to be rendered as cattle, and thrown into an eternal night."

Aria calmly removed her boot from the vampire's forehead and instead crouched down beside him, poking him in the cheek, "Elaborate or die~... Why are you spillin' this like you're against it?"

The vampire grinned again, ever so tempted to bite on the young woman's finger. But for the sake of not having his arm violently removed, or face imploded, he showed restraint. "There has to be balance, don't you two agree? Harkon is risking our very survival. We remained elusive for centuries, and now he volunteers us all to go to war for him. No one's powerful enough to take him, maybe not even his whole host. In-plain-sight is not the way we operate..."

The vampire turned his gaze to Cronic then, "The guy needs to die, it's the only way..."
"He said 'Lord Harkon sends his rega-', then I smashed him in the face before he could finish. Same guy that border guard vampire was on about before we made him die violently, wasn't it?" Aria said as she drummed three fingers along her chin in thought. This vampire's powers were nothing any random city guard could handle - he must have been in a high place with such prowess in magic.

"...This may actually be a good time to take Harkon out of the picture... You two seem strong, in mind, body and spirit. Odd Jobs do killing work, don't they?" The vampire asked, grunting as Aria removed her boot from his face.
"Such a tease..." Arthur sighed at Jessica as he shoved his hands in his coat pockets, "Look, you don't need to fight. I'm sure Minerva's far too busy with Hana right now to notice you playing insubordinate. Just stand to one side and let us do our job, we're not going to hurt-"

Without the poor girl having a chance to reply, the shock collar made a loud snapping sound, and the expression on the Neko's face... She couldn't be in more pain at the electric pulse. It felt like she'd just been dipped in lava, and that pain only meant one thing to her: obey, or it gets far worse. "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Mari screamed before sending an unnaturally large wave of Arthur's combined dark & light magics at the two. Pain fuelled her willpower, providing her with immense power - all she wanted was to be free. To be free, she had to do what Minerva told her.

Arthur simply held his hand out and stopped the attack before it reached the two. Being a master of the two elements, he could toy with this Mimicry Magic. But if the Neko began to use Jessica's magic, ...that would hurt, and he'd count on Ms. Daniels to do something about it! "Damn it, this is so inhumane... We still need to deal with the cannon, too. Otherwise it's curtains for most of London," he murmured as the mimic'd spell got absorbed into the palm of his hand.

"Lady Minerva is controlling my collar, a complex magic ritual and two Dragon Slayers all at the same time she's fighting with our enemy. You can't win!" Mari sobbed, clearly beginning to break down thanks to the abusive treatment. But she sounded so regretful, so sorry, ...and she seriously underestimated everyone's chances. But then, she didn't know these people at all. 'Lose' wasn't a part of their vocabulary!
Zephyr didn't have the control to catch Takashi, so he more or less just watched his only ally tumble by. Then, out of nowhere, they received their single instruction: kill.

"I dunno, Tamotsu. Takashi will be, but Zephyr might not be alive after this is over," Luka shrugged a shoulder and started unloading at the two with non-lethal shots as they became active, but panels of thickened ice formed in the air and absorbed every single bullet. This meant he and Takashi were being made to keep each other alive, too... So there was no advantage with Tamotsu & Luka coordinating as a team.

"I wouldn't be so sure, pink hair!" Zephyr challenged, diving over his shields and lobbing a spear of ice at each of his opponents. "Sorry about that! I hope no one bites the dust, but.. let's still make this a blast, whatever happens!"
"Knock yourself out, Chris... Better yet, knock Kuro out!" Amelia giggled as her shield of flame fell apart. Conserving power might be a better way to go about all this. The firepower being dished out by that gunslinger mage was ridiculous... Better avoided than taken on with barriers and the like. At least Chris wouldn't die if he got riddled with holes.

Amelia made an effort to distract Kuro, dodging magic bullets left and right so he had only one gun to fight Chris with.
Espada formed two of his raw magic blades on his arms, large and potent-looking. "Who's underestimating who, Emiya!?" he cackled as he charged straight into the White Dragon's Roar, cutting a path straight through it as he ran. When it finished, Joseph lunged at him, and Espada typically made a horizontal cross-slash with his arms, aiming to cut an unsuspecting Joseph in two. Unlikely, but Espada was out for blood.
"Wait, 'get fitted'? Formal wear, in the Shogun's citadel?!" Kaori suddenly looked at Yomi with stars in her eyes, "I'm going to look like a princess~! Let's go let's go!! I can't wait! Can I get a flower in my hair too?" she kept nagging Yomi as they exited the Shogun's chamber.

"Childen..." Yomi's master would roll his eyes, if he ever opened them. Or see with them for that matter. Kaori was a promising warrior, yet she still retained some child-like innocence which showed at times. The blind man took a polite bow before the others, and went on his way without another word.
"Uh... Yeah!" The Imperial vampire chuckled as he occasionally flinched with magic electricity surging through his body. "I uh.. you thinking about revenge, by any chance? Because I could point you in the right direction...!" he offered, raising his hands nervously.

Aria then brought her boot down on their new vampyric friend too, planting it in his face with a mellow expression. "Cronic~? Do we keep him for info? You're better with this stuff than I am, usually just shove my katana in their heads instead."

"I might technically be dead, but I like being alive... Nine, that doesn't even make sense." The vampire muffled under the redhead's surprisingly hard-pressed boot. "No tricks, I swear..."
The vampire grunted loudly and recoiled at being struck directly by a bolt of lightning, though he recovered and teleported once again. He failed, and appeared on the steps of the Bannered Mare in a confused heap - he'd aimed for the roof. The magicka disruption was working flawlessly... Before he could teleport again, Aria leapt at the bloodsucker and swiped her katana across his chest trying to halve him. He was forced to draw his sword to counter. Her strength was magnificent for her figure... She didn't look a day older than twenty, if even that, and her expression was that of a killers. It was quite surprising to see such innocence and naivety become... this.

"Good going, you just made the worst mistake of your life!" Aria chuckled as she reached past the clashing blades. She grabbed his collar and pulled him out of the clash herself, flinging him back down the few steps towards where she last saw Cronic. The vampire was dazed. If he could still teleport now, Aria would not be a happy bunny!
