Sooooo...I recently binge watched both Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Now I'm immensely craving a RP set in that universe. This can be either 1x1 or a small group, depending on how many people show interest(preferably 1x1 though).
A few things you should know about me: -I typically RP at the advanced level. However, I am willing to go casual if my partner wishes it. -I have few restrictions when it comes to the type of characters I play. I am also willing to double. -I don't have a life so am typically available to respond fairly regularly. -In fandoms I am only willing to play OC's. This will be merely a RP set in the ATLA/LoK universe, but with our own characters.
If interested please PM me or post here so we can discuss character/plot ideas.
Alright, I think it's settled we're starting on Crimson September. I just need to check my information to remember myself exactly what it was. My fictional history for my fictional nation is a bit fuzzy atm :P.
OOC stuff goes here in this tab, obviously. Fleshing out details helps, but right now I'm torn between whether we're going to be Krasniyans or Czervenikans. I want it to be either one of those two(or both if we can somehow incorporate it).
Ugh...so sorry everybody! I got busy(you know how summer is) and will continue to be busy from now until August at least. I just have so much going on: camping, visiting family, and now moving. So yea, I think it's safe to say I'll need to withdraw from this if you're tired of waiting on me. I feel bad since I was so looking forward to participating :(.
@the crafty pig lol I mean it in the context that the Wizengamot are essentially the Wizarding World's version of lawyers. They're the ones overseeing all the trials and such just like how lawyers would in real life.
As for my guy being offensive, I felt it more fitting. Especially if he's gonna join the Death Eaters' side eventually >.>.
Oliver is fairly tall, standing at 5' 10". However, he is also scrawny so one shouldn't be fooled by his height. At least not when it comes to weeding out those who appear physically intimidating. He does also put considerable effort into his appearance, trying to give off the impression of being somebody powerful and professional.
Job title and description: Wizengamot in Department of Magical Law Enforcement
Ambition: Coming from a previously powerful pureblooded family that has fallen on hard times, Oliver is driven by one desire: Making a name and reputation for himself and his family again. He longs for the time when they were once powerful and influential and believes that by working as a prominent member of the Wizengamot he can do exactly that. Wand: Hawthorne, Dragon Heartstring, 10 inches Hogwarts House: Slytherin Strengths: Most notably Oliver is known for his skills in both Transfiguration and offensive magic(most notably jinxes, hexes, and curses). He has dabbled ever so slightly into the Dark Arts, although this is not a widely known fact. Naturally, being the wizarding equivalent of a lawyer he also has a way with words. He is an excellent manipulator and is very effective at twisting words in his favour. He is also filled with book smarts, being able to easily retain any knowledge he picks up. Weaknesses: Oliver is nearly incapable of brewing potions. It is an art he simply never had much patience for, even if he is ashamed to admit it. He is also incredibly insecure, knowing his family name has been tainted and has fallen from its former glory. This tends to make him rather irritable and willing to do nearly anything to protect his reputation, no matter how reckless. Lastly, he tends to be stubborn to the point of not being able to admit to his wrong-doings; he genuinely believes that every action he takes is the right one.
Personality: Overall, Oliver is what one could call an conflicted man. While he is filled with pride in his family name and all their past achievements he is also deeply ashamed of what they have become. Even if his ulterior motives are not widely known, he does try to keep up a respectable public appearance. He is desperate to leave his own mark on the Wizarding World and he believes that by working in the most public institute he can do exactly that. However, his conflicted nature goes slightly deeper. Apart from elevating his family name he also secretly craves power even beyond that. He is not a particularly warm and welcoming man either; he will rarely form close friendships with anybody, instead keeping relationships strictly professional and even manipulating those he can in order to further his own goals.
Family: Oliver's family is a rather large one. They have many branches and still many more descendants from the family's original founder. Oliver's immediate family is just one of these, consisting of Nathan Beckett and his wife Sophie. Together they have borne three children by the names of William, Ariella, and Oliver.
Appearance of boggart: Oliver's boggart is literally absence. His deepest fear consists of living in a world where his family name no longer means anything, marking him as merely an ordinary man. He wants to be more than that: he wants to be somebody influential.
