@Lord Wraith Sorry about disappearing, been a bit ill. While sick I re-evaluated my plans for Batman and decided he would not be my final choice to play. Currently considering some other characters, maybe some mutants? Expect a new character proposal in the next couple of days.
Well here’s as far as I got with my proposal. Still need to work on a sample post, probably will have it up tomorrow.

BATMAN & ROBIN
BRUCE WAYNE & DICK GRAYSON ♦ BUSINESSMAN & STUDENT ♦ GOTHAM CITY ♦ BAT-CLAN
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
"Why isn’t anyone just whelmed?"
Bruce was born into Gotham City royalty, the Wayne family. They family had for a long time been members of the Court of Owls, a society of the rich elite of America. Based out of Gotham City, the Court had long shaped the city into their vision of a land with a ruling class. Bruce’s father Thomas did not agree with this and left the Court, investing his considerable wealth into helping the slums of Gotham. The Court did not take this lightly and demanded he be killed.
When Bruce was ten years old, he and his parents took a trip to the poorer part of Gotham to see a screening of a classic Zorro film. After the movie finished they went to the parking lot behind the theatre. There they were accosted by a man with a gun, demanding their money. While Thomas was reaching for his money, the mugger twitched, firing a lethal shot at Bruce’s father. In the ensuing confusion Bruce’s mother was also shot, as the mugger ran away. Bruce stood beside the bodies of his parents until the police arrived.
The now orphan Bruce was taken into the care of Alfred Pennyworth, a friend of the Waynes. Bruce grew to hate Gotham and criminals as he angrily lived out his teenage years. Upon graduating high school Bruce couldn’t take it anymore and left Gotham. From there he travelled the world, living recklessly. A year into his travels Bruce ended up in a prison in Russia. There he met a man named Henri Ducard who saw something in the angry youth. Henri offered a better way to focus his rage. Bruce accepted.
Henri Ducard took Bruce to a hidden monastery in Tibet. There he was made an initiate of the League of Shadows, an ancient order that was bound to destroy the sinful. Henri personally trained Bruce, teaching him many forgotten skills. It was during this training that Bruce learnt of the Court of the Owls, and that they had hired the mugger to kill his parents. This shook Bruce’s worldview as he had believed criminals needed to be eliminated. After a few years Bruce was given an exam to become a full fledged member of the League. He easily passed all of the initial tasks and made it to the final challenge. He had to execute a criminal. Bruce refused. Ducard urged him to reconsider but Bruce was adamant about not killing and decided to leave the League. Ducard let him leave but claimed that he would return one day.
Bruce then returned to Gotham to find his father’s company Wayne Enterprises now owned by Derek Powers. However Wayne Technologies was still owned by Lucius Fox, a friend of Thomas Wayne, who gave Bruce a job on their board of directors. But the true reason he had returned to Gotham was to destroy the Court of Owls. With the help of Alfred, Bruce became the Dark Knight, and began attacking members of the Court.
It was in these initial months that the bombing of Haly’s Circus happened. An enemy of the Court was in the audience, so they faked a terrorist attack to kill him. The parents of Dick Grayson, stars of Haly’s Circus, were killed in the explosion. Dick wanted revenge and began looking for the bombers. With his genius level intellect and investigative skills he became aware of the Court of Owls and their involvement. That was also how he met the Dark Knight. Together they were able to defeat the leaders of the Gotham branch of the Court.
After this Bruce began fostering Dick and sent him to school at the prestigious Gotham Academy, the same school Bruce attended. However they decided that there was still things to fix in Gotham City and began patrolling the city and fighting crime. To that end they adopted the identities of Batman and Robin.
C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:
So I want to focus on the dynamic duo, and gradually build into the rest of the Bat family. As for inspiration I’m drawing from all over, comics, cartoons, and movies. I want the scale to start small, focusing on Gotham, before going too crazy with things like the Justice League or Titans. Initially the story will be about the relationship between Bruce and Dick and what motivates them to fight crime.
Bruce will focus on living up to his parents and honouring their memory. To that end he will focus a lot on fighting the Court of Owls and just generally making Gotham a better place. His relationship with Alfred will be unique as he was essentially a giant dick to him the whole time they lived together.
Dick will be the more optimistic of the pair. While he does want revenge against the Court, he isn’t consumed about it like Bruce. While Bruce is more about living up to his parents, Dick will be more about living his best life like his parents would want.
Villain wise it would start out with mostly non-powered ones. It will be a long while before Bruce is skilled enough to take on someone like Superman. While I do love the whole unapologetically insane villains, I would like to spotlight how society, specifically Gotham City, shaped them.

It was then that he decided to take Bruce in, resigning from MI:6. Bruce was distant and moody, but Alfred did his best to care for him. After Bruce left Gotham, Alfred remained at Wayne Manor, caring for the old building. AS the years past Alfred thought of leaving but decided he must stay for Bruce. When Bruce finally returned he apologized to Alfred for how horrible he was as a youth. He also included him in his plans to fight the Court of Owls. After Dick Grayson moved in Alfred went back into parent mode. Since then he has been a confidant and ally of Batman and Robin.

A sample post that can be used in the IC if you so desire upon acceptance. This post should provide an example of your vision for the desired character. This sample post should meet all standards outline in the rules and additionally include dialogue, mannerisms and other actions representative of your intended portrayal.
If there is still room I would like to throw my hat into the ring. Mostly familiar with 5e but since it seems you're only taking lore and not mechanics from 3e I can do some quick research to get up to speed.
Glad you like my character! I've had the idea to give a character with dementia superpowers for a while now and I'd figured it could work for this setting. I have also decided to leave him without a codename right now, and just let him naturally enter that world. I'm kind of picturing a mix of Oracle and Professor X in team dynamic, off in the background helping the other heroes.
Walter was born in 1948 as one of the first of the Boom Babies, children born in the years after the second world war. Walter was the firstborn of Lee Campbell, a pilot, and Alice Campbell, a nurse, and would grow up in London. In his early years he would be joined by siblings Charles and Diane as his family moved to Toronto for his father’s new job with a Canadian aerospace company.
It was while in Toronto that Walter came of age and graduated high school. From there he enrolled at the University of Toronto to pursue his doctorate in medicine, and proposed to his high school sweetheart Norah Bishop. They would initially say that they would wait until after they were done with school to get married but that didn’t happen as they would go off and elope exactly one year to the day that Walter had proposed.
The first few years of the marriage was golden as the two of them finished up with their schooling. The now Dr. Walter Campbell decided to move back to London to set up a practise as a general physician. Soon the topic of children came up as both of their parents were asking about grandchildren. The Campbell family spent a year trying to conceive during which time his younger sister Diane had her first child.
An associate of Walter suggested seeing a fertility doctor for assistance. It would eventually be revealed that a genetic condition had left Norah infertile. She was devastated but Walter was there for her. He told her that he still loved her and nothing could change that.
After a few years the couple decided to adopt. Soon twins Chelsea and Iris joined the family. Their home in London finally felt whole, the family enjoying many years together. Eventually the daughters moved out of the home and started their own lives.
Seven years later Norah was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer. The battle was brief, leaving Walter alone. His brother Charles had Walter move in with him during this trying time. It was then that Walter learnt why his brother had never got married. He was gay.
Walter had a hard time accepting this and decided to move out west to Vancouver to be near his daughter Iris and her new family. He opened a new practise in the city but soon began acting strangely. Concerned, Iris took him to a professional where he was diagnosed with dementia.
This was a blow to the family, Iris having him move in with her and her family. Slowly he began to forget everything, becoming a shell of a person. Iris decided to take him to one of the world’s premier dementia medical care facility in Bell Reach, California.
A year into living in this new facility everything changed for Walter. The Boom happened, changing people across the globe, including Walter. He found his memories returning to him as well as having a clearer mind. Within a month he was discharged from the facility.
Walter embraced this second chance at life, trying to live it to its fullest potential. He repaired his relationships with his family, most notably accepting his brother Charles. From there he decided to become a better person.
He got himself in amazing shape for his age. He began learning everything that he could, finding it so easy now. He travelled the world to just experience life. It was during this time that he realized that his mind was literally expanding. He figured it had to be the Boom that caused this.
He decided to return to Bell Reach to be near his family. Having plenty of free time because he was retired Walter has taken an interest in the Bastion, the local heroes of Bell Reach. While he has no dreams of joining the team he would like to work with them. He wants to do good with his new life.
Personality: Walter is a very pleasant man, if a bit old fashioned. Growing up in the 1950s shaped Walter’s views on family and society as he lived through the worst of the cold war. These trials led him to valuing and cherishing those around him as he was aware how quickly things could go bad. That valuing of the common man could best be seen when Walter was a doctor. To this day he still feels the need to help people, albeit on a smaller scale, more like what a doctor would do than that of a superhero.
His second chance at life has inspired him to be a better person. Part of that is facing the antiquated views of his youth. Although he may involuntarily recoil when faced with some of the realities of modern society he is still making an effort to accept. His optimistic view of the world also extends to superheroes, as they remind him of the science fiction stories of his youth. Walter truly believes the advent of superpowers will be a good thing for the world.

Hello my name is Jareth. The Guild was the first site I ever RPed about 9? years ago. So it's been a while. I haven't seriously dabbled in RPing for several years now but I've got the urge to give it a go again, so I went back to where it started.
Some information about me: I'm a twenty-something year old guy who loves to read and write. I love comics, video games, board games, movies. M love of pop culture has made it so that in the past I did a lot of fandom based roleplays. When it comes to roleplays I'm pretty relaxed, I think it's called the casual level now.
