So my character would still be Primary Cast, and not a NPC, but I could start off as the Ship Doctor and then slowly like help out with bigger stuff. Hahaha,

"So I know you have been treating our wounds, but we also need someone to slam a man into a metal wall and blast him out in space"

"Well I can do that,"

Lol.

Oh yeah not as an NPC, I mean that those roles count as primary cast, regardless of what they do. Your first character is part of the main cast from the get-go. The plan you ran by me just then is what I figured you'd do and I am 100% on-board with that idea. Love it

I was kind of hoping to get outside of the "soldier" background. Like I get that is the whole premise and what not of Shephard, but like that's what I mean, like maybe I want to be our Dr. Chawkas, but turns out they are a powerful biotic. Something like that.

Oh yeah you are allowed to be outside the "soldier" background. I mentioned earlier that any of the non-combat roles aboard the ship are allowed, so a ship's doctor is a massive yes for me. Whilst I imagine most people are going to take the people who go on the ground to investigate and do shooty shooty stuff, this is about the crew of a ship, so if you want to provide the on-board crew work as a background/starting point like that and then transition into a more hands on role as it goes on I am all for that

Oh no, there was actually a lot more powers on the character sheet, I just put three up there for brevity's sake lmao

EDIT: And yeah I'll help you out with the icons at some point :) I'll need a reminder once we get started.

Honestly, part of me is considering 3-4 max powers, don't want to make the boys too OP plus it somewhat forces people to be more creative with what they have. Gotta remember we're not all Shepard and can double stack as much stuff as possible lmao

I'll be honest I like rag dolling people off cliffs. Problem is, if only the game acknowledged sometimes that they were dead. I had a glitch in ME 2, where I had launched someone off a cliff, but the enemy didn't die, so he was hanging out in No Man Zone. And my entire team just kept trying to shoot at the floor.

I am going Human Adept.

The question is, how outside are we allowed to go with characters?

Define "Outside"? Just so I can answer it correctly
A friendly suggestion, feel free to ignore, but one thing we can do with our character sheets is to maybe have a "Powers List", or something like that. Below is a screenshot of my old character sheet from another Mass Effect RP I did that does it.

ooooooh perhaps perhaps. Three powers max limits us but also forces us to be creative and have limits. I really like this idea. If you could help me gather the symbols for powers I'd be super enthusiastic to implement this

Adept in all 3 games. And I played the version that came out with all 3 games recently, so its been fresh on my mind.

I'm just finishing up my legendary edition playthrough as an engineer and once ME1 is over it secretly becomes the most fun class for me to play. Melt armour, shields and biotic shields in an instant it's mental
Planning a turian soldier or infiltrator most likely. Those two are my go to classes in playthroughs

Cool cool! If anyone wants to play a non-ground team specialist, like something more passive but still has a chance to head out on important missions like analysists, pilots etc etc, I will also allow those
I'd like to be a Krogan Vanguard if possible thought if there are fewer humans than other races I wouldn't mind playing one.

Even if there are a low-ish number of humans, I imagine about half of the NPC crew will be human as well to make up for it.

An Adapt most likely. I love me some space telepathy. And in the RP I get to do cool stuff we see them do in the cut scenes. So that's always fun.

Oh yeah the Adept stuff is always cool asf. I know why it's the most attractive option haha

Might go for an more engineer role myself, but only if it doesn't clutter it
Oh yeah to kill curiosity's sake, I'll probably look to make a Quarian or Turian, though I'm definitely leaning far more heavily into doing a Quarian. As for what role, I'll figure that out itself, but definitely a part of the crew
