Do it!

Give me a theme, topic or some sort of prompt and then tell me what kind of poem it should be.

Here's a list of some forms/styles: Poetic forms

And then tell me what you think!

Don't make me write an epic, though
What are your credentials?
Subscribed because maybe there's a slight chance you'll write some Blazblue fan fiction?

oops, I misread (I do this too often). You'll be writing original stuff! Will follow anyway!

Curious to know if you've written anything based off Blazblue in the past?
I'm currently working on Shogun by James Clavell, which is a historical fiction novel that takes place a couple of months before the famous Battle of Sekigahara. A very good read.
Cool. Thanks for joining!

Hey, whoa, we're all nervous. Why are we all nervous? Please let me know if you have concerns. I want to make sure we're all comfortable. You can always PM me if you want privacy.

MisterMonkey, the intro posts are meant to be a way for us to go crazy and flesh out our characters. I've never really try it before and thought it'd be an interesting alternative to character skeletons. Maybe you're more comfortable when the real stuff starts happening, with more material to bounce off of. i used to be like this. I used to dread the first post of a RP because I found the opennes in possibilities to be daunting.

The idea is just to tell us a story. My posts are actually a terrible example of this, since I got too caught up with my NPC. All I can say is hang in there and see where you're at once the real stuff gets rolling.
Understood. No worries.

Also, just add to my last post: it's possible to have a character that can NOT do magic too. You can use crazy fancy technology. Or a stick.

You guys have a lot of options. I encourage you to explore them.
Ryver et Rhine said I guess I am just not too clear how magic is acquired. >.< Sorry.

No, you're not the first to ask, so I probably haven't been clear. Since I'm allowing just about any kind of character to be created, I can't also enforce a single method of doing/acquiring magic. This RP is meant to be very loose in regards to magic. My character, for example, uses his own life force to do the fancy stuff he does. Everything that lives has life force, so I guess it is innate in that sense, but my character could have used it to do anything. He chose martial arts. In this way poets wouldn't be born poets on Earth, at least not how I visioned it.

From my own experiences, this method seems to be the popular one and the one most people tend to gravitate to, whether they realize it or not, but I don't want to impose it on you guys.

How your own character acquires/does magic is essentilly up to you. It is possible that your character could acquire magic from a different source, like an object, a god or a different plane of existence or... anything. It's up to you. If you feel like a character you're thinking about may be too radical for the RP, just run the speciics by me and I'll let you know what I think, but really the only restrictions you have are: no teleporting, time travelling or god modding.
Since only human characters can exist on earth, I've allowed characters from other planets to be in the RP. This is to provide more freedom in character creation for those who like to RP as talking racoons. It is a little more work though, since you'll also be responsible for discussing the planet and your character's species in the flash back posts, but the opportunity is there.
