Well, it doesn't seem like Jester has a pulse, so I wouldn't wait around for him, but I'll send him a PM soon. I'm not sure what's up with Emperor. I'll get in touch with him.

I've been working on character sheets for you guys to fill out. The history portion will be optional, since you guys have been doing that in these posts, so it won't be a whole lot to fill out. Personality is also omitted, but can be filled out if you guys feel like it. I just personally think it's a weird thing to fill out since our characters will most likely change in that regard as the RP progresses.

How does everybody feel about me keeping track of NPCs in the first OOC post? Such as who is using them and how they're related to the RPer's characters. I know not everybody will be keeping the NPCs introduced in the flashbacks, but it could also be useful in the future if anybody would like to introduce new characters that they don't want being their main characters. Obviously, you can dispose of/kill off these characters whenever you like. What do you guys think?

Hi Heidi, I'd love to RP with you. I don't think we have any fandoms in common, but most of my RP experience were with fantasy and medieval stuff, so that's what I'm most comfortable with. I've also done some mafia stuff in the past and I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones (never read the books though!). I can't say I've ever done a greek god RP, but it sounds fun and I'd be willing to give it a shot if you're dying to do one.

1x1 RPs

Although I wouldn't go that far, I agree with the stuff you've said prior to that. 1x1 has certainly become something like a meat shop, but I've never visioned the genre to be that way and I think a lot of people feel the same. I would love to do a 1x1 with somebody to essentially write a collaborative story, and while you point out that you would only need 1 other person to agree with you, both the RPers also have much more responsibility and weight on their shoulders in terms of how the story ends up going and being shaped. In that way I wouldn't say the genre is lazy, just the people it seems to attract, since they have such a lazy interpretation of it.

To be fair, the site acknowledges that they can't control what we do privately, so whenever I see that a 1x1 intends to engage in adult content I assume that the RPer wants to conduct the RP via PM or elsewhere, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

Another take on why "everything else is ignored" is because there literally isn't enough players. A 1x1 RP has only two people - perfect for a romance story. If you check the non-romance 1x1s (such as fandoms or historical retellings) they sometimes come with the requirement that players need to take on more than one role. I for one, am able to take on multiple roles, but many RPers can't (or at least don't want to).

I've never understood this. It's completely natural to take more than one role. I don't think I've ever been in a RP where everybody didn't introduce other NPCs in their posts at least once, sometimes developing and appearing in the RP frequently. 1x1 has never meant one character with another character, it's one RPer and another RPer. So I'm confused as to why people became fixated with only having one character. What's the appeal? How can you possibly tell a story with just two characters, unless they're on a deserted island or something?

posts can be as long as you want. You're encouraged to get carried away in the flashbacks. However, if you're referring to earth, you don't need to get your character there. The Tide begins on earth, but random beings from other planets will find themselves there when the RP begins anyhow (yours and Kirra's characters included). This will be explained in the RP later, but in case you were feeling obligated to do that, I just wanted to make clear that it isn't necessary. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from getting them to earth anyway.
