It's gonna be gas. Can't wait to see what sort nonsense you can pull of in focus mode with the funlance and hunting horn. Also, looking forward to new monsters to skin and wear as hats.

Bio
Just some rando. I'm 20+ so no worries about rping with a kid.
TL;DR: Genre: JRPG/very anime/manga fantasy adventure with light sci-fi elements Tone: Straightforward adventure that's self-aware and will have goofy or slight tongue-in-cheek elements Posting reqs: Casual only!
Hello there, and welcome to my RP! It is a fantasy story and setting with some slight sci-fi elements and an anime/manga flavor informing it. And maybe some video games too. Nothing really in specific but I would say that I’m more on comic and shows I watched over games and some other stuff that will be my secret sauce to that hamburger parts that are the rest of the elements. This RP will be straightforward in that it has a defined story and ending.
It’ll be focused on the group and the various plot points that will propel them along a journey. So expect, action, drama, maybe romance, fights, mysterious ruins, and crystals! Regarding tone, the plot will be standard stuff you'd expect. And because of that, there's gonna be a certain self-awareness and a bit of tongue-in-cheek elements, since even subverting stuff would be passé, mixed some other silliness. Anyway, the point of is this just to say despite goofy stuff, this isn't a parody.
You’ll be playing character who by fate, happenstance, or whatever you want to call it become bound together on a journey. Many challenges await you, some to be defeated by blade, shot, or magic. While others might require other skills. But the most important thing is your teammates. You might not be all friends, but at the end of the day you’re still gonna be in a group. And a group is sometimes the secret weapon that will see you through many challenges.
Opening Blurb
They say in the legends of some long-lost peoples, that long ago, the world was connected into four realms. One was this planet and the other being the three other moons. Their names being Etus, Vinetroza, and Torba. This period of unity was when the world was referred to as “The Beads of Creation” or “Pazgas’ pearls” depending on the area and their religion.
However, like all other mythical golden ages, this would soon face its fall. One such legend was that of an evil being appearing. It had great power and with its magic it severed the links between worlds and left all the moons barren. Unfortunately, what this entity was called is a frustrating mystery. A literal fragment exists of this story and the name is completely illegible save for a couple of letters, TCGNL. But whatever this is just ancient fairy tales isn’t it?
Well somewhat, Torba’s existence is the closest thing to lending credence to that myth. But it isn’t considered a moon due to its odd behavior which only makes it more mysterious. It bobs down to the planet and creates a “tower” which allows visitation. All explorations come off inconclusive in finding evidence of large civilizations. However, visitation is brief due to monsters and lack of interest funding a long term and large exploration.
The other moons according to observation via tools are completely barren. This story and other similar stories are believed to be a fanciful imagining of some unknown period in the past when peoples may have roamed on these distant heavenly bodies.
Setting Blurb
As mentioned above, there are three moons. Torba ahs already been discuses, so let us get to the other moons. Vineztroza is the second moon and sparkles with a bluish light. It is known to have a watery surface but nothing else is known about it. Etus is a distant reddish ball and that’s all that’s known about it. Torba’s odd behavior will elaborated here a bit more.
Like all moons on this planet they don’t orbit in a manner like they do on Earth in the real world. Torba does an odd bobbing thing where it will get close and eventually get close to this planet where its teal aura will create a rain that crystallizes into a structure that can be used to access Torba. This happens every 40 months and the connection lasts a couple of weeks which vary by a couple of days.
Now our planet is called Artanna. Artanna is a great and colorful world filled with all sorts of wonders and oddities be it natural or otherwise. From chilly expansive mountain ranges, verdant forests and jungles, roaring oceans, and the multitudinous plant and animal life.
It is also time of great ambiguity. On one hand it is a world that has entered a revolution of sorts. Many decades ago explorers found the long-lost Capital City of Novalina of the Ba’chatta Empire and found intact writing from one of Emperor’s who had written a treatise on Orjon energy. This let them reconstruct some lost ancient knowledge involving magic which then spurned a revolution as magic access became much more accessible, which in turned spurned technological progress.
Yet all is not well, as there are signs of something ominous at foot. Monster sightings and attacks have been noted to be increasing and other wildlife appear to be getting agitated. Hushed whispers amongst the Grand Council of Magi Scholars in the Country of Kyos speak of some strange magical energy that was previously undetected floating through the aether. Perhaps emanating from some ruins that was recently discovered or that it is the result of ley lines being tampered after recent seismic activity on the islands of Dolmos.
Other noteworthy locations are:
Gashpun: A region that could be called the homeland of the Limusians. It is a very popular tourist destination in the world. The reasons for it being both the unique architecture of the species, as well as their various foodstuffs produced by their bodies. Popular with the Chitonians.
Arsolona: Capital city of the Largartijin country. It boasts also a great Mage College that rivals both in quality and size the one in Kyos. It is a place of great wonder and learning, as well as shenanigans from drunken wizard undergrads. Has a glorified museum/library building on the campus.
Gabir: Also known as the City of Adventure or The City of Weirdos depending on who you're asking. This city was originally just a lonely outpost of a then nascent Adventurer's Guild with a village surrounding it. Now it's a large, busy, and thriving metropolis filled with lots of Guild members and would-be guild hopefuls.
Vespa valley: Site to one of the many famous martial arts tournaments, this one is known as the Superb Fist challenge when translated into common from Chitonian. Speaking of Chitonians, it is site to the beetle sub-type and many creches can be found along with dojos.
Races
Moving on from places, let's talk about what you can play as. It's pretty much all aesthetic and you have two options. One is you can make a short writeup and make a race up and send it for approval. One thing to note is I dislike your standard fantasy races, so there will only be allowed one to exist. Anyway, don't overthink too much on like details for them, this a jrpg adventure about saving the world, so super complex and deep lore on the critters isn't really on the menu. Anyway, the list below are the more common races in the world.
Humans- They come in all sort of shapes and sizes. By far the most numerous of the races. ‘Nuff said.
Largartijin- They’re mammalian dragon people. They both sport scale and have fuzz on their tail tips and near the ends of their limbs and hair on their heads. Speaking of heads, they also grow horns that either are gnarled or spiral or curve. They also are more magically inclined to the point that the great Orjon development while not completely useless was nowhere near as revolutionary to them. One of their special magics is their ability to sing in magical language native to their kind to inscribe symbols into crystals.
They are a cosmopolitan species found damn near everywhere other people are. Due to their innate magical nature they are in demand as scholars or mages in various employments, such as the adventurer’s guild or the various magic colleges for example. However, martially inclined Largar are also able to do just fine. There is a tradition of pure warriors and spell warriors as well running around the world.
Chitonians- A race of sapient vaguely hominid insects. They like to live closer to the wilderness although they can be found elsewhere. There are different types of them. There is the cricket/grasshopper sub-type and a beetle sub-type. The beetle types tend to have creches for their offspring until they reach their first molt. At which point they are then able to be mobile and taught further aspects of life and what not. The grasshopper types don’t as their offspring comes without needing to be tended to like the beetles.
Both types have a very developed martial arts culture. There are innumerable schools and styles. They like to name their styles after insects and some of their styles have been adapted for other races. They also like their food and booze. They are fond of wines as well as consuming fermented fruit.
Limusians- One of the most diverse and colorful race of the world. They are sapient slimes and despite lacking damn near everything most animals have they carry on quite well. Slimes are capable of a soft shape shifting which with practice or magic augmenting it, can last longer and be more complex. Despite lacking bones and muscles, they can pack quite a punch, as they too also have their own unique martial art specific to the species.
Limusians have very characteristic settlements that seem to be made of hardened material their bodies are made of while also incorporating other building materials. Limusians and the Chitonians share a very close and friendly relationship. The reason for it, is food. By engulfing food into their bodies and sometimes mixed with other ingredients, they can produce foodstuffs that are delicacies. Limusian candied fruits are artisanal delicacy.
Chups- Very similar to humans save for their ears or other additional headgear. Said features are based off animals and have given all sort of mythological origin stories. One such being about the quest of an Ibex who in love with a human princess goes on a quest to rescue her, recruiting other animal companions. The Gods taking pity on its quest eventually bless the Ibex and its companions with human forms thus creating the first of the Chups.
The Chups themselves say they come from the moons and that humanity is the one that comes from them. They say after the great cataclysm the link they have to their animalistic totems became severed and thus sprung forth regular humans. Others speculate magic experiments gone awry or natural mutation from magical energies.
Regardless, the Chups are more or less the same as humans. A Human and Chup pairing is capable of producing viable offspring. Whether the child looks pure or human or not seems to be up to chance. What separates Chups from humans are certain cultural things. One being their own Lunar worship with a bunch of different holidays based on alignments and whatnot. The other being their own vast lore reproduced in various forms of art, such as dance, poetry, and song. They also have a history of alchemy being the first to conceive of the practice.
Constructs- This is a catchall term for any artificially animated being. They can be either magitech robots to something akin to golems being animated by either the soul of something or spirit bound to it.
Dogs- They are also found everywhere and working everyone. They’re renowned for their mercenary groups around the world, as well as having a fair amount of famous warrior, and thieves. There are rumors that somewhere hidden in the world is a secret training village where the finest warriors are trained in the way of fighting and being sneaky.
In this world all dogs are sapient creatures capable of speech. However physically they resemble any mundane dog breed. They are also capable of employing weapons and tools despite lacking the grasping digits for it. Many a skilled smith of their kind can be found in the employ of the guild or other groups outfitting their fellow species or other races as well.
Tech
As mentioned above, there’s some sci-fi stuff going on. So that means that the setting isn’t your usual vaguely medieval fantasy. True to form, everything’s all schizophrenic and runs on rule of cool. So basically, nothing makes sense and don’t think about it too hard.
What this means for weapons is that you can have guns alongside your sword user and it'll fit. Just replace technobabble with mystic gibberish and you’re good to go. Also I want to take time to make a brief aside, this being rule of cool and animu as hell means that PCs (player characters) are competent enough to break physics and dodge and or parry shots. This also applies to certain tiers of NPCS as well.
Melee users don’t feel left out, due to the rediscovery of new Orjon channeling techniques, there’s also materials and parts your weapon can be made of that will either grant it like abilities to cast magic or some other gimmick.
Magic
In his RP there are two distinctions between magic. One is magic as like a set of various abilities and utility type stuff under a theme like fire control. This would go in the listing as skills in the character sheet. The other one is magic as a form of doing stuff in combat and this ranges from say zapping stuff to using your summoning ability to use your critters to fight stuff to supportive magics as well. This would go under your fighting moves section.
Anyway, there are some magic that will be non-existent for various reasons. No time traveling/manipulation, no cosmic fuckery type magic, no hell magic, healing magic is allowed but straight up rezzing is something that will be expensive to do, so you don't really want to rely on it too much.
Other Stuff
Regarding fighting ability you’ll “level” up at certain points and be able to improve existing moves, or gain new moves or perhaps stuff like a supermode or big flashy super move.
There will be a discord to use:discord.gg/WU9YBGx I’m looking for a co-gm to help out with this so slide into my DMs.
Rules & stuff for the RP are as follows:
Standard casual and guild rules apply here
I can be accommodating towards things like races or background things like countries, religions, organizations, etc. If it works, it works if not then we can try working on it till it works but it might have to be rejected outright.
With regards to deaths/killing things off if it’s an NPC there will be something to alert you whether or not the “flag” is on. Should there be a situation involving PCs GM arbitration will apply
Only one character per user for now
Only one token edgelord allowed
If you’re unable to post or need to drop, please let us know in advance instead of flaking.
Fun is mandatory
That being all done, here's the CS which you can fancy up at your own discretion.
Name: Race: Sex: Appearance: Picture or description or even both! I don't care. Backstory: Tell a bit about your character's past and motivations, as well as why would they be going along with this journey. Personality: What are they like? It doesn't need to be super long and can be sketched out however you like. Skills: So this section is about the things that are their areas of expertise be it knowledge or stuff they can do. Moves: This is where your cool magic or fighting magic goes. You start with 5 techs and later one you can add more or like improve a weaker version into a stronger version. Inventory: What's in their pockets? Theme song: Something hype happens, what plays? Misc: In case you need it. Here goes all the other stuff that has no proper home for it
**Optional** Relationship sheet: What is your character's first impression of the other characters? Alternatively feel free to work out with your fellow players if you have some sort of connection prior to the RP's start
"Ok then." Was all he said as he listened to Gin. It seemed like it was going to be one of those things that is easier said than done. First they'd have to find such a space. But at least by the grotesque description of the inverted man and dozens of corpses would make confirming such a place easy. So small mercy there. Seemed tomorrow would be like a bloody day full of fighting and killing horrific things.
He would wait for the conference to end to get his rooms and these lights. It was such a shame that darkness would be his enemy. He was more than content and able to travel in the dark and do things in the dark. In fact if it wasn't for the certainty of getting easily caught and being swarmed, he'd be up for doing a night time assault on the seed. Shame about that seeing all shadows bit the cult had. "Sure thing." He said rather dismissively to the woman.
He slammed the money on the table and snagged the candles. Now came the tricky bit. He'd spend some time fiddling with the positions of the candles to get it just right. Eventually he had the positions set, and then he waited to sleep on the ground. In the meantime, he spent time looking at the various knife carvings etched onto the table in the room and other locations. He had to admit though, the green light gave the room an oddly pleasing look.
The morning would come up as quickly as he felt himself only drifting into sleep for just the barest of time. He'd look out the window and saw the morning sky completely warped by the distortion. "It begins..." He thought to himself. He was already up and it probably would be a bad idea to go to sleep again. He quickly picked up all the candles with one hand and grabbed his stick to go downstairs. He took a chair in the fairly empty eatery area and waited for the others.
Woo finally did a writeup of some the races floating in my head. Anyway list is subject to edits which it'll probably face as I start working on the first IC post, and the OOC post.

As noted before, they can be found in the employ at various locations and amongst the other people. The origin of why they're so widespread as freelancers/mercenaries is something of a mystery. What is known is that they got fairly organized groups with networks. There's a bunch of them working with the adventurer's guild in various capacities be it from a warrior, to scholar, to cooks/ etc. Along with humans, they're pretty diverse in where they can be found and what they're doing.
