I'll be making a proper sheet for Jay so don't worry about that for now.

I'll also begin on some longer-lasting (possibly) cadet/Scouts sheets as well, especially the commanders etc.

Landing in a flurry of cloaks and whirring cables, the cadets rushed to take their places amongst the group already forming on the parade ground of HQ. A few senior officers with the insignia of the Wall Garrison emblazoned on the back of their jackets were conversing amongst themselves as more and more soldiers arrived, awaiting the issue of their orders. Veterans were rushing in and out of buildings carrying various supplies with junior officers yelling commands over it all, directing their efforts. As Lauren landed she could not help but feel like it was an evacuation, as if they had given up before even beginning to fight. She pushed her way into the formation and stood at attention as one of the officers broke away from the others who deployed their Gears and shot out of sight, heading off to supervise their men.

"We all know what the appearance of the Colossal Titan means. Trost will be breached, that is not in question!" There were murmurs on unease amongst the soldiers, apparently some had thought they could fight the huge Titan but, as far as Lauren was concerned, it was foolish to attack such a creature without a plan.A huge crash resounded from over their backs, coming from the Wall. Through the ground she could feel vibrations and then distant thuds and screams as rocks and debris crashed into houses. The Wall was breached. All the soldiers, veterans and officers stopped were they doing for a moment, horror plain on every single person's face before orders were shouted again and were obeyed with fresh haste. The man before them continued to drone out their orders.

"The first priority is the evacuation of civilians from Trost to the other side of Wall Rose! The Garrison will hold the outer gate while we veterans will aid in the evacuation and hold the gate leading beyond Rose. Cadets! You will form the middle guard and delay the Titans once they've broken through into Trost. Some of you will remain here at HQ to re-gas the others when the retreat is called."

Teams were formed, Garrison soldiers peeling off into their already assigned groups while junior officers walked amongst the cadets and formed them into teams. Lauren found herself being directed alongside Emil towards three cadets she struggled to recognise, two boys and a girl; all had drawn faces pale with shock and eyes that already spoke of their defeat. Looking around she could see Gabriel and Tanner being grouped with two others she did not know while Jade, Reese and Grant were teamed up with Jay.

She greeted the three cadets but they barely responded, eyes staring at the ground between the feet. For all the difference it would have made, they could have been openly weeping and it would barely have added to the funereal atmosphere heavy upon them. An officer swung back in their direction, heading over with a board in his hand presumably with their orders pinned to it.

"Let's see, you, you're team leader." He pointed at her and proceeded to give them their orders, unwilling to listen to any protest she might have had, and directed them to the position one short of the left flank. "You're unlikely to see much action over there, Titan's'll probably just come straight down the middle. Consider y'self lucky." She glared after the man as he walked away, suspecting his lack of fear or apparent care was because he, like the other veterans, would be farthest from danger. Glancing at Emil, she cursed her lack of leadership qualities but it looked like, between the two of them, they'd have to take charge; the other three were too scared to be of any use.

"Hey, you three! Stop looking like you're dead already." She snapped at them, placing herself right in front of them so that they were forced to start at her as she glared them down. "If you're that worried, he said we'll be far from the action. I aim to get out of this alive so I need you three to pay attention and listen. We're only to slow the Titans down, there's no glory in getting more kills than anyone else and then being eaten so this is how it's going to work. You," she pointed at the youngest looking of the boys, "you're going to be on lookout. Hang back and warn us if any Titans are coming up in our blind spots. If we're focused on the one in front of us we need someone to watch our backs, got it? You two are pairing up. Emil, you're with me. One person in each pair will distract the Titan, keep your distance but make sure you have its attention. The other will take it out from behind. Don't rush in for kills, we're just meant to slow them down but the only we can stop ourselves being swamped is to thin the herd. Just remember your Gear training and don't take stupid risks." It was hardly a stunning speech but she was no leader so what did they expect?

They refilled their gas reserves before heading off to their position, watching as the Titans began to push through the primary defences and stalked into the town itself.

Debris rained down around her, crushing out all noise and she focused only on staying out of the path of anything large enough to do her damage; her experience from the mountain hike had taught her that lesson well. After the massive hand stopped dragging along the wall top, she looked around and saw her comrades hanging from the wall, all of them had made the decision, as she had, to jump from the wall; the last three years had not be in vain, it seemed. Gabriel was yelling for them to return, taking charge as he had become more inclined to over their time at the training camp, but her attention was drawn to the familiar voice yelling from below.

"Jade?" She yelled down, struggling to comprehend how her friend had appeared in the last place she had expected. Equal parts happy to see her and horrified that her friend was going to be drawn into a bloodbath, she reeled in the hook holding her in place and let herself fall towards the ground. Half a dozen feet from the ground she shot at an angle toward the wall, the cable reeling out for a good distance before the hook found purchase. She pulled it in at a measured pace, turning her free fall into an arc parallel to the ground. She reached it at a manageable pace and landed on the ground at a run, the hook releasing from the wall and coming back to her as she headed towards the others.

"I thought you were going up North? That can wait until later." She hugged her friend quickly before looking around, noting that neither Sano nor Mora were with Jade but there was no time to find out what was going on. She saw Grant heading towards Gabriel above, querying his intention to retreat. Ever unwilling to take charge when someone better was around, Lauren felt comfortable enough supporting someone making the right decisions and called around in a loud voice, the voice she used in the medical tent that brooked no argument. "We're to return to HQ in the event of an attack to receive orders, that was the command on our first day. Leave the defence of the Wall to the Guard, our job is to go back and raise the alarm."

Not that it needs raising, who could miss that big ugly head above the gates?

She motioned for the other two to follow and began to follow Gabriel's lead, pulling herself onto a rooftop with her Gear, eyes scanning for the nearest tall building and hooking onto it, pulling her away across the city and using the gas sparingly to cross wide areas. All the while she could feel the Titan's eyes boring down from above, the inevitable breach soon to occur.
I have the teams already decided, I'll reveal them when we get there.

We won't have one cadet being pulled back with the others as Mikasa is in the show, from here on it will be a little different.
I'll be making squad assignments but it won't harm to have NPCs. My vague plan is to have two-three PCs per squad with five total members in each.
Dark humour alert.

Also, I'm lifting the ban on secondary characters.
In case it was missed on Discord:

Training sessions continue largely as before, perhaps a renewed focus on their powers but nothing extreme just yet. There are plot reasons for Arthur's treatment.
Arthur Seymour

Arthur nodded as Sienna spoke, sipping his tea and mulling over what she said. It all chimed with his own experience as well as his own suspicions. While he had never mentioned where he was, or any reason why he might be there, when he had asked after his father and his conspicuous absence the call had suddenly cut out. Just before it had, he had seen the expression on his mother's face. Fear. Like nothing he had ever seen before, it scared him to see her in that state, a sturdy woman who let no adversity get her down. Even during her battle with breast cancer she had barely wavered, ploughing on through the treatment as if it were nothing and coming out the other side as energetic and determined as ever.

Whatever had caused her to fear, for her husband, for Arthur's father, was severe enough for her to be unable to hide it. For the first time, Arthur seriously, desperately, wanted to break out from the facility and as quickly as possible. He would need to start planning, scavenging information where possible, before he made any overt moves; his underlying sense of unease was rising and not everything was as it seemed, he was sure of it.

"Oh, I'm certain there's more to all this. There's probably a perfectly good reason why we're not told everything." He put his cup down and met Sienna's gaze, trying to convey what he really wanted to say, before thanking her for the tea and waving goodbye to her and Cassius. Beginning to feel the cold from his exposed, wet skin, he hurried to the lockers and showered before towelling himself down and slipping into some jeans and a shirt. As he finished doing so the now familiar sound of the communication system rang through the facility.

"Good morning all - we'll be starting your sessions in the next twenty minutes to make sure y'all arrive on time! Artie, if you could come straightaway there's a few things we need to discuss on your results from your last session."

Sounds about right.

He considered hanging around, rebelling against their perfectly reasonable sounding request but decided it would achieve nothing; he was meant to be playing the helpful and supportive character in the play so instead he made straight for his mentor's room. From inside he could briefly hear muffled voices but they were too quiet for him to make out individual words. Not wanting to look like he was attempting to eavesdrop, he stepped forwards and knocked on the door.

The voices stopped almost immediately and the door was pulled open by the still-unnamed Head Researcher who grinned ecstatically at him.

"Come in, come in. We have some major developments to discuss with you!" She guided in him energetically although there was no mistaking the firmness of her grip on his arm as she manoeuvred him into the middle of the room. Behind them his burly, Russian mentor shut the door and then stood in front of it in a posture alarmingly like he was guarding it. Arthur turned his gaze away quickly, letting himself be moved toward a huge tank of water in the centre of the room.

The room itself seemed larger than last time, he could not conceive of this tank fitting in the room last time around and there was no other equipment left over from the last time they had come in. There were steps leading up to the edge of the tank and he was guided up there, all the while being talked to.

"We saw what you managed in the pool yesterday and I, have to say, your abilities are progressing very rapidly! It's very pleasing as our programme is working although it does mean we'll have to step up your regime to keep pace. It's always a race, you see, between you mastering your power and the infection taking control of you. Today we'll try and get you to focus on using your power deliberately."

They arrived at the top of the steps, a small platform running around the tank. It was not quite filled to the brim, its level perhaps a mere foot from the top. Next to him the chipper woman was gesturing at the water animatedly.

"We weren't sure how much water you can control at once so we went with a large volume. It might be your power better initiates when there's more, you see, so this will help us get a proper read." She paused, turning to him with a serious look on her face, and he was struck by how odd that was to see. "There's another matter we need your help with, Artie. You see, the mental well being of the people in this facility directly correlates to how well they can mange their power; if they're distracted then they will make little progress and the virus may get the better of them. If they're focused and don't linger on the fact they're away from families and friends then there's a higher chance of success. I know you're an intelligent person, academic even, so you can understand what I'm saying."

Arthur nodded, seeing the logic in what she was saying. Of course, he was no scientist but he had enough of an understanding of psychology that he knew a positive focus yielded better results in almost anything than a negative one. Maintaining attention on the matter at hand, rather than their de facto imprisonment, seemed a sensible aim to improve their chances. She smiled at his understanding, some tension draining away from her posture.

"Good, I knew you'd understand Artie! So, here's where I need to ask you a favour. See, the people in here kind of look to you as someone to trust. Maybe not a leader or anything but someone who can calm, rational decisions." He could see where she was going but kept his expression neutral. "It's all very well us putting out the facts and trying to explain everything but there are some things we just can't reveal just yet, it'd be counter-productive to the whole process."

So they were definitely listening in back there.

"What I need from you, Artie, is to keep their morale up, keep everyone focused on developing their powers so that they can beat the virus. Is that okay for me to put on you?"

He was tempted to refuse but there had been nothing in what she said that he could see a flaw in. His own feelings aside, the persona he had presented to them was of someone who seemed to 'understand' the importance of what they were doing in the facility and would be naturally supportive of what she asking him to do. Nevertheless, he hesitated but in the end he could see no reason to refuse her request and so nodded.

"I'll try, it won't always be easy though."

She smiled, clapping her hands and sighing with relief.
"Oh, I knew you'd say yes. Besides, Artie, we always had our insurance in case you refused."

Then she pushed him into the tank.

He crashed deep under the water, his clothes soaking instantly and weighing him down, hampering his attempts to get back to the surface. Finally his head broke through into fresh air and he gasped for air, staring up at the woman in shock he had no need to fake. He thought he had been playing her but the whole time she had known who he was, what he was like. All the research they had done on them and somehow he had thought he could subvert it, trick them.

From above he could hear mechanical movement, the whirring of cables being reeled in and he looked up to see a lid suspended in the ceiling come down towards him. It had been too high for him to see and he had not expected anything like this, at least not yet. He turned towards the woman and saw her gazing down at him, a hard expression on her face, a dangerous glint in her eye. The lid closed down and he could hear seals locking into place. Water began to fill into the tank, the air escaping through a grate in the lid. Before long he was pressed up against the top of the tank, trying to suck in what little air was left in it before the water pushed up against it and there was nothing more to breathe.

Three years. Three long, intensive years of arduous training. Now Lauren stood atop Wall Rose, staring out across the land now infested by Titans, feeling one step closer to her goal. Her orders, given by her mother back in Shiganshina, resounded strongly in her head, commanding her to return one day.

Around her the other successful graduates of the 105th Cadets were working, as she was supposed to be doing; cleaning canon barrels and checking armament stocks. Yet to have chosen a Corps to join they were being tasked with menial tasks like their current one, although part of it was to get them accustomed to the equipment they may one day use. She could see Olivia, Reese and Gabriel nearby, a tight-knit group as ever, with Grant and Tanner both close by to Gabriel. Emil, somewhat the lone wolf of their band, was crouching by a box of shells, presumably verifying the stocks. Connor was somewhere on her other side, probably waiting for her to stop day dreaming and help with their assigned job but she was in one of her difficult moods, finding it hard to focus.

Their absence weighed heavily on Lauren. The three years they had spent, renewing their friendship that had been lost after Shiganshina, had suddenly been severed by relocation orders delivered during their graduation festivities. Jade and Mora, along with Sano and some of their other comrades, assigned to the Northern divisions with barely a moment's notice. She'd desperately tried to find a moment to talk with them but there had been none and before she knew it had been watching her two closest friends riding away; at least it was to somewhere likely to be safer. Perhaps when time came to choose which Corps they would join they might meet but in the meantime she felt depression weighing heavily down on her.

Sighing, she squared her shoulders and tried to force the heavy thoughts from her head. It would do no good to think too much on it, for now she had to focus on those around her and, more importantly, on the task at hand. She turned, opening her mouth to call out to the group when a blinding flash froze her in place, a deep thud rising through the Wall and shuddering up her body and rattling her chest. The sun was blotted out, a great shadow cast over them all but more menacing than the sudden darkness was the presence behind her. So huge it felt like it was all around, unavoidable and immovable like the Wall itself. Except it moved.

Lauren's body reacted before her mind could process the appearance of the Colossal Titan. She could feel the air move as it raised its arms, stretching out over the wall top and crashing along it, scattering cannon and soldier aside alike in a bloody, churning mass. She hurled herself over the edge of the Wall, twisting to face back up to the top as she did, feeling the rush of air past her as one massive, fleshy hand swept past the section she had just been standing upon. Debris rained down on her from above, shards of stone and wood while all around she saw bodies and broken armaments tumbling down the stone face into Trost below.

With one hand she shielded her face from the shower, the left grasping for her Gear handle. By now the hiss of gas and the slight kick as the hook shot out from her Gear were so familiar she barely noticed them, adjusting her position slightly to account for the movement so that she was not off balance. The hook hit the wall and stayed there, her freefall coming to a jolting halt. Her back twinged with pain at the sudden stop despite her readiness for it but she pushed past it and bent her knees so that when she hit the wall the force was absorbed. She stood against it, the hook supporting her weight above so that she was at a right angle to the wall face, defying gravity with Trost down below her.

Her own safety taken care of, her mind caught up with her body's actions and thanked the relentless drills they had been put through the past few years, knowing her survival was only down to the harsh regime. She looked around, searching for the others, knowing that there was simply no way she was the only one to make it away from the Titan's attack. She was not even thinking ahead, not processing the realisation that Trost was about to breached and they would have to fight to stop another Shiganshina from happening, her immediate concern was for her friends in danger, and for the first time thankful for those not present to be in it.
Lauren Jones

Interacting: @Solace

Having fetched some light lunch, Lauren had chosen to sit outside and enjoying the fresh air for as long as she could before being pulled back to rest in the patients' cabin. She had barely sat down when she heard a familiar voicing hailing her. Looking up from her soup, Lauren's gaze swept the empty grounds before focusing on Reese and widening with recognition.

"Oh, Reese. Hi!" She said hurriedly after swallowing a bread roll much too fast and having to reach for her tankard of nettle tea to wash it down. Gasping a little, she grinned as the boy approached carefully, although his limp was badly disguised and her eyes glanced down to the slight bulging of one trouser leg suggesting a cast wrapped around it, hidden by his uniform. "Good to hear! I think we spoke sometime... last week? I don't know, I don't really remember much from the last week. Literally leaking out of my head." She pointed at the bandages wrapped tightly around her head with a resentful expression on her face.

"Were you coming for food or just a walk? It feels great to be out of that cabin... I never realised how bad it would be to stay there as a patient." She thought back to all the times she had been there over the recent months, tending to injuries of varying nature, and firmly telling many to stay in their beds until they recovered. When she was fit for duty and, inevitably, would be called to help out the short staffed team, she vowed to be a little more lenient in letting the injured out for some fresh air.

She looked over to the training grounds and spotted a familiar, tall and menacing, figure prowling around while casting glares up at the forests nearest the camp. Schulz was clearly waiting for something and Lauren had a dim memory of Jade - or perhaps Mora or Olivia, she couldn't really remember - telling her that they were doing some kind of ODM assessment that day. Nodding over to the ever irate instructor, she spoke in a low voice, ever fearful that the apparently omniscient man could hear her and exact some kind of punishment on her.

"The others all left earlier. Someone said it was a Gear training session, or an assessment. Looks like Schulz is going to be the one 'assessing' them." She grimaced, thinking of the number times they had all been sent running for not being up to his ludicrously high expectations, even on the first training session for the ODM. "I'm almost glad I got hit by that rock, now."
