Both of these were addressed in the CS. Alex is referred to as 'it', mostly, but with respect. Well, mostly. And, Alex is neither male nor female. But, if you must, I suppose you could say he/she, or maybe xe, something I learned from a previous RP~
So, you won't accept Alex based on the complexity of having both a penis and a vagina? So, you'd rather have a simple character at the risk of less interest and diversity? That makes no sense to me, forgive me. I just don't see a real problem with having a character without a definite gender. So what if Alex is a hermaphrodite?

Okay, though can you have it just be male? I'm sorry I have nothing against Hemaphrodites, but it will be incredibly weird.

I'm sorry, too, because I really want this character in the RP. As Silph stated, having a hermaphrodite character would lead to a few awkward moments, and that's what I was going for. I wanted some diversity in the characters, because they're all predominantly white and many don't have any extremely odd traits that make a character odd. I have nothing against the line up of characters, I love every pixel in their CS's, but I just wanted someone unique.

I think it would be best to practice democracy and put this to a vote amongst the members. To see what everyone else thinks, not just us two. To have a hermaphrodite among them, or to exclude.
I don't see any rules being broken for my characters. I only have three, they're not game-breaking, and et cetera. I was just trying to fill spots that weren't being filled, instead of waiting on chance to bring us new characters. No one else had applied for the positions in 2-3 days, so I thought I might as well instead of waiting any longer.

Okay sure, though whomever completes a male character will prolly be accepted. I mean so long as they aren't ridiculous to the point I have to pull a double take.

I wanted to test this with Alex Raine.
Name: Alex Raine
Age: 16
Gender: Undeterminable, classified as hermaphrodite. Though, was stuck into male dormitory.
Appearance:

Element: Energy
Powers: An offensive, defensive, and passive: Alex can pull energy, mostly electricity, from other sources and make it into a projectile. He can also make the energy around him into different forms of it, like different types of electricity, to make barriers. Something else he can do is control the nervous electricity to enhance his body control and action.

Personality: Alex enjoys reading out of all things. Never caught without a book in hand, reading page after page, chapter after chapter, cover to cover. You could imagine him being a regular to libraries. Alex is the silent type, not bothering with others without some meaningful point to it. Other than reading, Alex enjoys writing. What is being written is usually poems, haiku, or other things, usually barely understandable, almost...cryptic. Alex does not have a sexual orientation or preference. Alex's intelligence is profound when scored, like tests and the like, earning Alex the nickname of Erudite from the so-called peers. Though, Alex is mostly just called "it", having no other pronoun like "he" or "she".

History: Alex was born a hermaphrodite, not having a determinable gender. Ever since early on, everyone felt awkward around Alex. They didn't know what to call Alex, a he or she, him or her. So, Alex was stuck with 'it'. Alex didn't have friends around, and stuck to solitude, reading books every chance given. It became a habit. More and more books, still no friends. Family drifted apart, and Alex's parents soon divorced, not being able to live with the guilt of their little...it. Alex would then live with other methods of care, such as grandparents. Throughout childhood, Alex never spoke a single word. And, Alex knew what it was. It had discovered it's powers, but did not tell anyone. Those that came for it did all of the explaining to the grandparents, and soon took Alex to Quae Academy, where it would meet others that were like it. Those able to control elements. Upon arrival, Alex was greeted by more people, whom introduced it to a Familiar, a Raiju. The Raiju, named Hikari, was very affectionate towards her partner. And, that was the first time Alex had smiled.

Familiar name: Hikari
Familiar species: Raiju

Powers of familiar: To use the energy produced during running to use offensively, or even defensively. To, also, howl and produce pure energy.
Any other familiar info: Smells like freshly baked cookies and petrichor.

Other: N/A
Name: Jonah Ryman
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Element: Fire
Powers: Control heat of things as well as flame, and can be used mainly offensively.
Teaches: Elemental Chemistry

Personality: Jonah Ryman absolutely loves teaching. But, the thing that ruins it for him is unruly students, whom tick him off to no end if they go too far. To combat this, he plays soccer in his freetime to release tension. Though, he wouldn't mind a massage from V.P. Flockheart, or Ms. Itarna. (Hehe.)

History: From a young age, Jonah's always love teaching others what he knew about things, even if it wasn't a lot. A lot of times, he would volunteer to teach the class about a subject and give the teacher the day off. He always loved it. He graduated from Quae Academy as magna cum laude and went on to teach at his alma mater.

Familiar name: Pyra
Familiar species: Phoenix

Powers of familiar: Same as Jonah, to control heat and flames. Can make a pseudo-reincarnation, but is not immortal.
Any other familiar info: N/A

Other: N/A
Giuseppe smiled happily as Eli shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, too, Eli," he said, still smiling. He smiled a lot. Aria would tilt her head and nuzzle against Giuseppe, saying, "May I be introduced?" Giuseppe grinned and nodded to Aria, and would pick her up, turning back to Eli. "This is Aria, my Familiar. She's a Winged Tempest, and she's really cool!," he exclaimed.
Giuseppe turned around when a male walked into his room, presumably his roommate. He smiled before noticing that the boy did not notice him. Of course, because he had mentioned bunking alone. Was he shy? Was he mean? Was he cool? There was only one way to answer these questions, and that was by first saying hello. Giuseppe stood and walked over to the boy, waving and smiling at him. "Hello. My name is Giuseppe Alighieri, I'm your roommate~," Giuseppe said in a light tone. He outstretched a hand to the boy and asked, "What's yours?," smiling to him with his usual sweetness.
Ace, my character is in the room, already. Been waiting on you to get there ^^
I had volunteered for a teacher position but soon declined, so an Elemental Chemistry teacher should be available. But, ask one of the GMs.
