My characters now at the front of school, so if anyone's stuck on what to write, feel free to interact with him. :)

Good to be writing again!
Ethan Blackledge

Roads in the US always seemed endless to Ethan, the country was so massive compared to England. The thoughts of home led him to his family and whether this infection was worldwide or just in the US. All he wanted to know was whether his family was still alive but it was too hard to think about. That question would not be able to be answered for a long time if it ever could be answered.

The last sign Ethan had passed said the next exit off the highway was Ramona. Ethan had heard people mention the place but had no idea about what was there. He hoped that there might be some supplies in the town or maybe even people. No one had crossed his pass since the attack and that had been a few days now. Only the odd herd of walkers roaming about.

As soon as he pulled off the exit, the car started to make a rumbling noise and the engine completely cut off. "No, no, no, no, no, no!" Ethan smacked the steering wheel and then chucked his head in his hands in frustration as the car slowly rolled down the road. Ruffling up his hair he stared straight down the road thinking about what to do next. A sigh left his lips as he dragged himself out of the car, taking the keys in case someone could fix it, and grabbed his rucksack from the boot and chucked it on, his weapons dangling from the bag. There was a cool wind in the air as Ethan lazily strolled down the road wondering what he was going to run into. Another road sign said "Ramona - 1 mile."

It only took around fifteen minutes for Ethan to actually start seeing buildings, even with his lazy walk, he still had a long stride. There was a building in the distance that didn't really seem to fit with the southern part of California. It was higher than most of the other buildings and had fences all around it. There seemed to be people dotted about, but from the distance Ethan couldn't really tell what they looked like. "A pair of binoculars would come in handy right about now... Well lets just hope they're not cannibals..." He said to himself as he clenched his knuckle duster in his coat pocket and walked towards the gate.
Ethan Blackledge

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Birthplace: Leeds, England

Appearance: Ethan is six foot and has a good physical body. He has dirty blonde hair that he keeps to a medium length and is usually messy on top. He has a slight beard. The usual clothes he wears are a thick cotton t shirt, with grey cargo pants and dark walking boots. If he’s out he’ll usually have a navy blue sailors coat on, since it’s started getting colder, he wears a grey hoody underneath it.

Personality: Ethan is a very laid back person, even after the outbreak. He daydreams a lot thinking about his life before, keeping himself smiling. Ethan also likes to try and keep peoples morale up in the group. It usually takes a lot for him to show his true emotions, but when he does he lets it all out at once.

Skills: Can construct houses from his previous job, makes him useful for knowing how to build different things like stable defences and repairs. Has been practising with the bow since the outbreak, so he knows how to use a bow but isn’t truly amazing with it yet. He can usually befriend someone pretty quick who he doesn’t know through his charm alone. Naturally good at driving. Is very good in a fist fight.

Fears/incompetency's: He doesn’t know how to live off the land, so he can’t make fires without a lighter and doesn’t know how to hunt. He is claustrophobic. Being alone. People a with leading people because he doesn't want to let anyone down.

Equipment: In his rucksack he has: twenty different types of canned food, a two litre bottle of water and a packet of paracetamol, antibiotics and pain killers. There’s also a compass and a map in it. Attached to the bottom of the rucksack is a sleeping bag. Dangling from his belt is a steel hatchet. He has a wooden compound bow but no arrows left and a steel baseball bat. He has access to a dark grey mustang. In his pocket he always keeps some knuckle dusters.

History: Ethan grew up in Leeds and when he finished High school at sixteen, he went on to become an apprentice as a construction worker. He continued to box and had been doing it from an early age. As soon as he turned seventeen he started to drive and loved it. His job on the over hand he wasn’t crazy about it, but he was good at it so Ethan continued to work there. When Ethan turned eighteen he decided to start saving up to go on a road trip of America. For five years he continued to work and save up until he had enough money. He also thought in a few semi professional boxing matches, gaining a bit of extra cash. When he was twenty three he booked a plane to Florida and rented a car, after that he travelled all over the place.

Whilst travelling from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, the news broke out on the radio about the infection, luckily Ethan was miles away from any major city and missed it. He ended up driving south when he got into California and ended finding survivors who had managed to survive by hiding in the buildings of the town centre of Dana Point. At the time he got there, the virus hadn’t really hit the town hard because of the small population. Different people came and went over the weeks. Until one morning when the sun had just risen, a massive herd of Walkers were moving towards Dana Point, they had no chance to survive it. By the time the lookouts managed to wake everyone up, the Walkers were inside the town and killing anyone in sight. Ethan grabbed his bow and baseball bat and tried to help people escape but everyone was being wiped out. He stayed close to Dana Point hoping to run into survivors but after a while no one could be seen and Ethan wished that people went off in a different direction and some had survived.

Ethan picked up the pace and walked a few miles down the road to where he'd hidden his car in case of an emergency like that one. A rucksack with emergency items in was in the boot. For the past few days he's been travelling about rationing what food he has left and looking for another home.
Are we in a specific town/city? Or is the school not around anything?
Be home from work within an hour so I'll start writing then! :)
@Demonic Angel I think so! Gunna try and get everything read tonight to see what's happening.
