Alex waved for Lia to join her. Lia tugged at Kaiden's shirt, and mouthed the words, "Hey, wanna dance?"
She failed to notice that her brother, Brandon just arrived with Chelsea, his girlfriend for three years. He was a few years older than Lia and very protective of his sister. His eyes squinted dangerously at the sight of Kaiden, especially when he saw Lia beside him. Brandon intentionally bumped his shoulders. "Hey, Cherwa kid, what are you doing here?"

Within minutes, the hall was crowded with people.
Music was blaring and some people had started dancing at the center.
Alex cheekily pulled Mal into the dance circle. "Come on!"

"Oh. Don't worry about it," Lia smirked, thinking he was quite cute when he's embarrassed.
"I will be irritated as well if I have a stalker like Michelle," she added.
The group worked on the decorations of the party, and was nearly done when there was few minutes left to the party.
Alex spotted someone already coming up the doorstep. "Everybody! It's Party Time!"

Lia wondered if Kaiden was always this hard to get along with. Or perhaps he was just like that with her.
"Well I do hope you have a great evening." Lia looked at her watch. Only an hour left until the party.

Alex and Carrie watched the boys do the banner and gave instructions from below.
Lia watched their progress from afar, until she noticed Kaiden at the side of the room.
Lia followed and handed him a packet of snack. "Here, have one." She smiled.

Alex beamed at Mal and greeted the others. "Hi! Thanks for coming. Everything is still not in place so I really need your help here. By the way, help yourselves with the snacks over there if you want." She pointed at the boxes filled with snacks.
Carrie nudged Lia and whispered, "Hey, introduce them to me."
"Well, Carrie, meet Kaiden, Mal and Francis, and guys, this is Carrie, Alex's cousin." Lia introduced them briefly.
Just then, one side of the banner fell. Alex sighed.
"Can one of you help out with this banner here? It keeps falling down and I don't know why." Alex shrugged, staring at the banner.

Alex and Carrie were about done hanging the banners along the ceiling, when Lia heard someone calling Alex.
"I'll take them." Lia volunteered, and scooted off to the back. She opened the back door to let them in.
Lia spotted an unfamiliar boy, and nodded at him. "Are you Francis? Hi, I'm Lia. Alex is a bit busy."
Lia led them to the hall where Alex's birthday party would be held. It was big enough to contain a hundred people.
Alex waved at them as she climbed down the ladder, the banner nicely in place. Carrie just smiled at the boys. She was a bit shy.

"Hmm why are the boys not here yet?" Alex scrolled through her contacts in her phone until she halted. "Sh*t, I forgot to ask for their number."
Lia shook her head as Alex gave herself a face-palm. Knowing her, she would work those boys like slaves.
"Anyway, where is-" Alex was interrupted when a voice came from the door. "Aleeex!! Have you started with the decorations yet?"
Alex's cousin, Carrie walked into the house with some banners. She was also helping out with the party.
"Gosh! Why does it seem I'm doing everything for my own party?" Alex grumbled as she walked up and down the hall. Everything was still very empty - the set up was not even near finish yet.
"Calm down, you are too stressed out." Lia looked up at her over dramatic best friend as she finished the last stroke on a star she was drawing.

"Don Juan?" Alex muttered. It sounds familiar though... Then something clicked. "Don Juan! You're bringing him?" Alex had a friend who dated Don Juan before, and according to her, it did not end well.
"I can't wait to meet him!" Alex cooed, suddenly realizing that she was going to have the best birthday party ever! Lia slammed her forehead. Her brother was going to be at the party as well, and she knew how much Brandon hated the Cherwas, particularly Kaiden's family. It was going to be a disaster.
