@The One Sorry, man. I kind of mentioned it in the post before yours that I don't want people choosing characters who are at the extremes of ages. So the too young and too old.

Hello there, friend.

Among your kind, you have been blessed with the opportunity to acquire anything your heart desires. Strength and power to rule over others, a fortune that would last a lifetime, or even fame that would span a hundred kingdoms; all of these are yours for the taking. You simply have to accomplish a single task, reach the top of the tower.

It is a massive structure of many levels called floors, with each being the size of a continent. It is said that at the top of the tower, everything exists - a place where any of your dreams or wishes can be granted.

Each floor is said to have a guardian, a god-like creature that governs the usage of mana on its floor. Mana is the source of all energy and the elements within the tower. It constitutes everything from the air people breathe to the source of life itself. It can be manipulated by people with the aptitude to do so and may be used in a myriad of ways.

Those who are chosen to climb the tower are called Regulars. They take tests on each floor in order to reach the top. The top is designated as the highest floor ever reached by anyone - currently the 134th floor. When regulars reach the top, they become Rankers - and are assigned a ranking based on ability and influence in the tower.

Tests are conducted by directors, who are Rankers that derive their authority from the guardian of the floor, and act as proxies to judge

Regulars to be worthy of ascending. Several key tests exist in the lower floors, and are generally lengthy to weed lots of Regulars early on. At higher floors, Regulars generally take tests as teams given the difficulty and complexity of the tasks given to them.

Lastly, the tower currently has a king and is one of the most powerful entities in the tower. The king and his allies were the first to reach the current top of the tower, and it is his administration that conducts tests and generally manages the workings of the tower. Of course, his authority still comes from the guardians themselves. The king himself is inactive, but his many subordinates enforce his rule and policies.

Your character can use their birth NAME or choose an entirely different one. Given that this is your character's chance at change, choosing a name that they think would fit them better is symbolic in a way.

As for your AGE, those who are chosen to climb the tower are fairly capable in their own right. Those who are the extremes of age, usually do not get this opportunity. Also, once you enter the tower, the ambient mana will slow down the aging process.

In terms of APPEARANCES, as a human, you are relatively plain looking as compared to the individuals you will encounter in the tower. However, the effects of mana on the body vary from person to person. Although I'm not saying that you're appearance may gradually get altered; its just a possibility that you should always keep in mind.

Upon entering the tower, one's true PERSONALITY comes out. For some reason, you shall find the impulse bare to the world who you really are. It the effect of mana, the influence of the guardians, or some other entity altogether has yet to be determined.

One's own HISTORY should never be forgotten. It acts as a primer and serves as the basis on how you will grow and progress as you climb the tower. It may be minuscule in comparison to everything else, but it still holds plenty of value.

Those who are chosen to enter the tower are blessed with ABILITIES beyond one's wildest imagination. Most of the time, they come in the form of an object, an item of power so to speak. In others, an innate potential to manipulated mana is attained. The remainder, usually receive abilities that are unique in their own right and are rarely seen among those who climb the tower.

An INVENTORY of basic artifacts and gear will be granted to those who successfully pass the first trial upon entry to the tower.

@Goblinesque Actually, I changed my mind. I'll probably use the same setting for the tower and system; basically the structural aspects of the tower. I'll just rename some things to make myself feel creative.

@The One I'm sorry, but I'll be only allowing humans. However, to those who want to choose another race, I'll give their characters options throughout the RP to alter their appearance; this would have corresponding abilities as well. An example is someone who'd want a Lizardman, can have their character grow scales at one point in the RP that reduces damage from blunt attacks.

@Goblinesque Are you asking if I'll actually use the TOG World/Setting in the RP? I probably won't, sorry. I'll definitely take a lot of elements from it though.
