Bio
I prefer to write in the first person when not writing about/from a character, I am sorry if this may make me seem a bit obnoxious at times. So this is my bio, which means you are interested in finding out who or what Jyoliod is, even if it's just a fleeting moment of pure curiosity, or something to pass the time in-between posts. Either way, I shall indulge you, while also throwing my ego out there for the world of RPGuild to observe.
Jyoliod is, or rather, I am, a character on the stage of RPGuild playing the puppet master of (soon to be)various characters, eccentric, gloomy, thoughtful, harsh, annoying, these are all attributes I may throw into posts depending on the author's state of mind, yet I hope to hold a solid presence of familiarity that I can share with all of you. My goal is ultimately to enjoy my time while not disturbing the comfort of others here in the guild, in the guild I'm not only looking for various RP's to enjoy and craft, but also friends and discussions to partake in. Though, in this manner I can be quite submissive and enclosed, I'm not much of an extrovert so bare with me if you will.
I am always happy to have a discussion and I really enjoy learning new things, so if you're bored enough to have read this far, throw a topic at me in a PM and see where it goes. But enough of that, I'll throw out some more substantive stuff in regards to my RP out-look.
The Genre I like: Horror Fantasy/High-Fantasy Action Heavy Magic Emphasis Science/Technology Emphasis Modern Slice of Life Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic
The Genre I'd like to try: Diplomatic Emphasis Sci-Fi Mystery Family
The Genre I tend to avoid: Fandom
RP Style: 1x1 Casual/High-Casual Advanced Arena
I like: An emphasis on detail, I have a structure complex and find it easier to post when a RP is well defined. However, I'd gladly jump into a free-for-all sandbox type RP just to let loose from time to time, but never as something I plan to or hope to do long-term. I like character development and creating personal quarrels to over-come as a character. I especially enjoy the idea of long-term RP's where the character not only develops mentally but also physically.
Gore is also something I enjoy incorporating into my posts, though I only use it in the proper context. It's an easy thing to detail but also has a lot of room to work with, you have so many areas you can choose to detail and such a post, pulled off correctly can easily contribute, quite powerfully, to the current atmosphere of the RP.
Other Stuff: I am dyslexic, meaning when I read and write, words and letters can often be switched around or substituted for completely different words or letters. This is an issue I try to stay on top of , but if you go through a post and find the structure of words or letters to be mixed up, I'd be grateful if you informed me of this. I make it a habit to re-read my posts three or four times to combat this.
Before I start; This idea has only been explored conceptually on my part, I've not formed a proper plot yet. If you're interested, we'll need to tackle some planning together first, and I'd be very grateful in having your contribution to plot elements beyond what is implied bellow. Enjoy!
WILL CONTAIN: Violent Brutality, Gore, Implied sexual* themes, Psychologically Dark Themes.
* Both the 'implied' and 'sexual' part can be up for debate though an age requirement and discussion is needed before hand.
Parasites of the New World
Monster, that is what you are. Nothing more than a monster. What you eat, what you feel, what you do can all be described as monstrous. YouARE a monster.
Like a sprout from the ground grows into a mighty tree, the new world too is growing into something mighty. Cultivated by the ashes of the old world and harbouring the burn scars gained when the old world flashed into it's fiery end, we live on. We survive. But to survive, we needed to change, we needed to becomestrongbecause the weaklings we were, were not able to survive. We were once capable of such beautiful things, but in this new world there is no room for beauty, not when the corpses of our weak litter our homes, not when the ruins of a past forgotten house our nightmares, not when the risk of an end to the new world is so near to us all.
But in creating our new world, in becoming strong, I wonder if we'd appear any different to our nightmares when we tare away all our skin. I wonder, if the new world is one that houses the nightmares of the past rather then defying them. I wonder what we are becoming.
Premise
Earth is no longer the wonderland of beauty it once was. The days are marred with thick black clouds of red thunder and the nights are so dark and thick with fog that even light cannot escape it. The events of the old world, forgotten to most, have caused an endless darkness that infects the flora and fauna, twisting it and mutating it into the Undesired.
But for you, the darkness is not such a bad place, it embraces you like one of it's own. It does not judge you like the others do, it does not wish you harm, it does not fear you or hit you or torture you. It loves you without exception.
You are a human, born of an Undesired who was once human them self. You have taken the intellect and form of a human, and the powers and desires of an Undesirable both as your birth right, but there is no meaning in feeding primitive desires. You long for something more than just the darkness, you long to understand your humanity. But humanity has changed and it is no longer as accepting as it once was, to them you are an anomaly, the very definition of abomination. You are something they cannot understand and they fear that, the line is drawn in the sand and they are armed and ready to meet you with cold steel, but you, who has nothing to loose and so much to gain ... I wonder, does this dis-persuade you? Will you turn away, back to the darkness or will you join me, as a Parasite of the New World?
This RP follows two characters who have been 'affected' by an eerie force that exists in the world and is currently the bane of normal human society. Creatures formed and warped in the darkness that now covers much of the world will bend to your will, given that you are able to prove to them that you are their superior, something that they would never do to any normal human no matter how much a normal human may be able to dominate said creatures. However, as 'part' creature yourself, you're faced with terrible urges and desires that need to remain suppressed, additionally you have at your disposal a series of unique powers and abilities that when used, hinder your ability to suppress your urges and desires.
If you've read this far, and are interested, feel free to post expressing such or PM me, no matter what the status in the title is, unless of course it is 'Closed'.
That would solve the issue, especially the idea of attacking the planet. I really like the idea of human characters who earn themselves a place next to a saiyans in power level. Would you be willing to entertain the idea of an alternate kaioken system that would allow some none saiyan characters to keep up with super saiyans?
We could explore the concepts like different 'types' of Super Saiyan and Kaioken, like how Vageta and Trunks had their 'Super Saiyan Super Vageta/Trunks' forms, where they got a big melee power boost in trade for a little speed.
I personally like Half-Breed Saiyans myself. Not sure why, but they just appeal to me. As for villains, maybe they are just strong enough to take everyone on at once?
I could see this working, though if the RP has a large group, it'd make a single battle with one powerful enemy quite long. I guess that could be chalked to expected post length and posting frequency.
Any experienced TTRP'ers out there ever done a purely slice of life Table Top rp? If so, how did it work?
I've had an idea floating around for one, though I doubt I'd use it any time soon, but it focused on various dice rolls(primarily done by choice when the player chooses, though some events would REQUIRE a roll) to garner the success of a basic action, such as throwing a basketball, waking up on time, catching the bus, hell even hitting the toilet when drunk and wanting to take a whizz.
There would be various things a character could do to increase their modifiers for rolls, example; being well rested lets you add +2 to all rolls, eating a meal temporarily gives you +1 (or more depending on the meal) to stamina based rolls, ect. ect.
Ideally, there would be a general 'thresh-hold' where any roll under a certain number means the player fails and humiliates them self. Additionally, if a player rolls higher than a certain number (include the additions of modifiers) they are able to slightly bend reality in for the action they rolled on, 'exaggerating' a scene or action beyond what is normal to their advantage. I also entertained the idea of 'breaking reality', if a players modifiers cause them to go over a certain, hard to reach number, their character disappears from the face of the earth, never to be seen again.
What are your thoughts on this? Additionally, anyone can steal the idea if they'd like, just PM me so I can see how it pans out or maybe join.
This is interesting, do you have any plans for arcs that focus on one enemy? (Like traditional DBZ Arcs, e.g. Arc based on defeating Cell, Deating Freiza, ect.) if that is the case, have you got any idea as to how to keep everyone relevant? i.e. not one person taking the lead so to speak. I think this can be avoided by ensuring there are multiple strong enemies during arcs. (not necisarily one for each player, but so everyone can contribute)
I like the idea of a DBZ RP, but the most pressing issue I could see is one or two players becoming more important than the rest during an arc, as this is how DBZ arcs are usually structured. But I've never done a DBZ rp, do you think this would even be an issue?
