The skies of Panem were full of hovercrafts filled with Peacekeepers and supplies, going from the Capitol to the twelve districts to maintain order. The citizens of those districts decided that they had enough of the Capitol ruling them and started a rebellion, which last for two years. At the end the Capitol won, and the rebellion was destroyed completely.
Most of the districts, and parts of the Capitol as well, were still smoking, but the biggest damage that has been done was to district 13, where the rebellion started. The whole place was wiped out, and all that remain from the district that was in charge of nuclear technology and mining graphite, was ashes and black skies. It was the example of the Capitol's power, and the end of the war.
For many days and night the president of Panem, Leporis Jardine, discussed with his councilors about what that has been done and how to deal with it. They couldn't let another rebellion to start, they need to remind for the citizen of Panem what they tried and failed to do, and let them never forget it, to suppress any thought about defying their rule. At the end, the Capitol had the solution.
Every single soul in each of the remaining districts was led to the center of their district, to watch president Jardine give special announcement. His image appeared on the big screened that was installed over night. He was tall, muscular man, and wore white silk suit. He had brown hair that seemed to be able to touch his long mustache and cover his green eyes, if it wasn't made is special haircut.
"Citizens of Panem," He said in his deep voice. "It has been over a month since your rebellion was over, yet there is sorrow in every part of the beloved Capitol. As a matter of fact, I still mourn for my own kids, which have been slaughtered by your own hands. We must not let this uprising to repeat itself, if we want to deny others from grave and grief. To accomplish that, it has been decided that from now on, for every year, we'll make special event, and that will be the cost for the freedom and mercy the Capitol give you. This event will take place in three days from now. Twenty four boys and girls at the age between twelve and eighteen, two from each district, will be taken from their home to the arena, where they will fight to death until there will be only one stand. In that arena, they won't only be needed to fight each other, but to survive against the Fauna and flora that may be in their way. The victor of this event will be guest of honor within the Capitol, and will be granted with wealth and honor. Any further information will be given to each district separately by representative of the Capitol. This event, as fixed by the Capitol, will be named 'The Hunger Games'."
This is pretty simple, I think. I want to focus on the very first game, that's something I was interested in doing for quite a while, so here I am. Confusion, death, gore, kids trying to survive the horror, families being destroyed. More details about it would be discussed over PM.
