Yea. You don't invade planets without having a plan. That's why they're called planets, to remind you to plan it.

But more, our side. You don't send your entire planet to invade someone, which means this is just the occupation force. We are going to have to invade them in response or they will just send another army.
I wonder if anyone has thought of the implications of an alien invasion.
I can admit that I was guilty of skipping a lot of pages towards the end.
No, that's an exaggeration. He does have a habit of writing long, flowing details about major events, but generally that's not the problem. It's that in the middle of the series, nothing happens. You've got two hundred pages of Rand brooding in The Stone of Tear because he's slowly becoming God.
Wheel of Time is a hell of an investment. Fifteen books, several of which are over 1000 pages long. Depending on how fast you read and how often, it can take several weeks, up to a year to finish. And around, 7, 8 and 9 it feels like wading through treacle. While, in the end I liked it, I don't know if I can recommend it to anyone. It is something that is highly individualised, depending greatly on your own enjoyment of reading and your patience.
@Infamous Empath
I mean, if you are going to have an escape prologue where the people that you are rescuing are basically powerless to do anything other than follow along with their suddenly appearing Savior, then just write that out in the first post instead of making people sit through what will probably be a few days or a week of it before anything actually happens. It's like a later Wheel of Time novel right now.

Edit: And yes, this RP has a solid Xcom feel, and I'm Dr Shen, ok?
It's not a bomb. If it blows up, it's failed. I was trying to make a post revolving around Elis' persona and technical prowess. But, I seem to have underestimated the levels of bullshit the aliens are operating on.
Timemaster is easily amused, it seems.
Tinkering was hard without her powers, or tools, or the right materials, and the chance that Aliens could come by at any moment and see you were tinkering and then stab you in the urethra because fuck you human. But she still managed to pull it off, because she was awesome like that, and that is how she was found when the alarm went off, using some strip of metal that could be called a screwdriver with a great deal of imagination to work on something with the appearance of a lot of metal bits thrown together and compressed into a shape. What shape, exactly, was still up for debate, but it was definitely a shape.

So when Portal came in and asked everyone to stick their hands through the prison bars, Elis instead passed through her newest and greatest machine. It was the culmination of the very reason she had invaded this place. And this, was going to be glorious.
"Put this on the outer wall of the prison and charge it with eight point three gigawatts of electricity. Then your escape plan will become a fair bit easier than it is right now. Or it will blow up, I've not yet had the luxury of testing it's full capabilities"
Yea, I knew she had a collar. Just didn't mention they were indestructable living things that exploded if you sneezed too hard.
