Riverwood Academy

My character, Josephine, has the last name of Gray because she is Terry and Xander's sister. These are Penguin's character's. This was the last name we planned to use early on, so it was coincidental that there was another character with it. Many people in the real world have the same last name. Additionally, it's open for interpretation because their capabilities are still being discovered. Granted, they are broad; however, what the power is, is the name given. Their limits are posted. They're not demigods or anything major, yet they are restrictive, of course, in what they can do.

Hmm, I was unaware that your character was actually related. In that case, I have no qualms. As for the explanation, or lack thereof, I must say that while I understand your point about them still discovering their abilities, I still have to suggest that you put a bit more of a specification in your description. Otherwise people may assume, for example, that your necromancy character can talk to, summon, and control just about any kind of undead being or creature, and your molecule manipulation character, for all we know, can pretty much control anything under the sun. Your limitations are not really explaining the full limits. It would be like if I said, "My character has magic" and then put a limiter of "his mind magic doesn't work on humans and his elemental magic isn't too powerful". It leaves a lot of question open, that's all I'm saying. I'm not meaning to criticize here, I simply wish to understand what exactly they are able to do or not do in those fields. I don't need details, but an explanation would go a long way.

Did anyone else notice that there are four different characters with the last name Gray? Also, Potter, could you elaborate on the abilities of your first two characters? It's just that necromancy and molecular manipulation are very broad categories and open to a lot of interpretation. It would be helpful I think if you went into specifics about what exactly they can do.

Name: Owen Bounder Nickname: Rebound or Abrasion Gender:Male Age: 19 Personality: Owen is largely antisocial and abrasive. He tends to push others away with harsh words rather than try to bond with others. However,he has an intense need to protect those weaker than himself through whatever means possible, though he is uncomfortable with accepting gratitude. He has a golden heart, but hides it beneath a mask of anger, indifference and cruel words. He is afraid to let himself be vulnerable in any way to anyone, and yet also secretly yearns to be able to relate to others like everyone else does. He also tends to believe that those with abilities are superior to those without and harbors a deep seated bitterness and scorn towards normal human beings. He is quite haunted by his past, and experiences regular nightmares, though he won't talk with anyone about them, not even the academy counselors. Ability: Owen has the ability to completely absorb and redirect an almost unlimited amount of kinetic energy. Anything moving towards him at any speed faster than a slow crawl, once it makes contact with him, ceases all motion, save falling to the floor if airborn. The faster something is moving, the more kinetic energy he absorbs. He can then use this energy to move himself or other objects at incredible speeds or with incredible force. His ability makes him almost invulnerable to external physical harm. Since all of the kinetic energy is transferred to him, the object will not take any damage either. He is, however, just as vulnerable to other forms of energy, such as electricity or heat, or harm that doesn't have to do with external damage, such as drowning, suffocating etc. Also, if physical harm is caused slowly, such as a blade being slowly pushed into his body, the ability will not kick in and the damage will happen. Limits to Ability: While he can store an almost infinite amount of kinetic energy, once that energy enters his body, it begins to slowly degrade into potential energy and leaves his body after a certain amount of time. The more energy he has stored, the longer it takes to completely degrade. Once his kinetic energy is completely degraded, he can no longer redirect it. In addition, once he runs out of stored kinetic energy, his body begins to feed off of his own kinetic energy, eventually resulting in complete immobilization, though he remains alive, until more kinetic energy is absorbed. Age admitted into Riverwood: 14 Background: Owen began to show signs of his ability when he was only 7 years old. His parents were very active in the government's hunt for the monstrous individuals with strange powers. His father was a high ranking member of the X Force and his mother was a senator with many connections who used her influence to cover up the hunt. When Owen began to accidentally destroy objects around the house while seeming to move rather slowly, and then objects began flying across rooms and even through walls, they knew he was one of those freakish children. They didn't quite have the heart to have him killed, so they called in some favors and instead had him moved to one of the government's secret testing facilities. He was kept there for 7 years and subjected to all manner of physical and emotional tests, often bordering on torture as they would run varying levels of electrical current through his body and even cut into his back, legs and arms to find the threshold for his defense. During this time, part of his hair permanently turned white because of the pain and emotional trauma he endured. When he was 14 years old, one of the doctors took pity on him and the other captive children and tried to set them free. The plot was discovered, however, and most of the children and the doctor were killed during the escape. Owen believes he is the only one to have gotten free. He found his own way to Riverwood, and has been there ever since. He is considered an enigma, both someone to turn to in times of trouble and someone to avoid otherwise. He gave himself the nickname Rebound, but some of the students call him Abrasion for his personality and his scars. Appearance: (with scars on back, arms, and legs) Other: He has a hidden soft spot for cute things, but doesn't show it when others are around.

Question: How do you feel about mature content? I'm not just talking about sex either, I also wants to know how you feel about language, gore, for potentially disturbing sequences. Not that these are things that I am looking for, I just was curious. Either way I'll probably be interested in RPing with you.
