GM’s eyes stayed locked onto his holo-screen as Leon babbled and stammered nervously. While he seemed angered at first, his menacing demeanor seemed to slowly shift into sadness and despair as he continued to stare, almost seemingly tuning the boy’s words out. “Bah… Bas…” he whimpered quietly, before he shifted back into his humanoid form as he lunged at the computer. “Bassiiiiiieeeeeeee!!!!!” he wailed, shoving Leon away as he cradled the device in his arms, seemingly on the verge of tears. “What happened to yooooouuuu?!” he screamed, looking straight at the 2D screen as the hologram plastered itself all over his face. He then realized what Leon had just done, and he turned his head to see the large lizard-man standing tall next to him.
“Bassie?” he whispered, sounding surprised that the creature could even be there. He quickly rose to his feet, looking the green man in the eyes… only to see said eyes staring blankly ahead. The creature stood as still and as lifeless as the hologram that depicted him, as if he were nothing more than a life-size, flesh-and-blood version of the same model. GM seemed confused, until he looked back down at the computer screen, and saw a small error window. “Oh, yeah, I forgot…” he sighed, crouching down in front of the thing to X out of the tiny window that said something about some file that couldn’t be found. “That’s why I never tried that before…” he trailed off, seemingly now ignoring Leon completely as he looked sadly back at his reptilian companion; the creature’s only movement being its own, slow, calm breathing.
GM then waved his hand in front of Basilix, causing the creature to change from his more monster-like form to his more human-like one… Except, instead of the form that he was used to seeing, Basilix transformed into whatever fun creation Leon had left it on when it auto-saved.
GM jumped back in surprise, swiftly yanked out of his melancholy mood, as the anger began to flare up inside him again. “What…” he started to speak, breathing heavily again. “What did you do to him?!?” he roared, before, in a panic, diving for the laptop again, and returning to the tab that housed Basilix’s other form, spamming ctrl + Z as if his life depended on it. Each change undid itself on the hologram and, in unison, on the living creature itself, as he stood there, not reacting, not even flinching. Until, as GM undid the last couple changes, Basilix apparently lost his balance, and, after a few weak, instinctual attempts to catch himself, the creature toppled to the ground like a rag doll, and just laid there, still staring ahead with the same frozen expression.
GM flinched when he saw Basilix fall, but he relaxed slightly not long after, as the lizard seemed to be fine, and GM was able to reverse all of the changes made. He let out a brief sigh of relief as he saved the file, then closed up his laptop, walking back to the reptile on the floor, just staring at him sadly for a few seconds. “Sleep.” he commanded, watching as Basilix’s eyes closed and his muscles relaxed, mouth hanging open as he quickly drifted off. GM kept his eyes locked on his sleeping pet for a few more seconds before, slowly, he turned back towards Leon, eyes burning with an intense rage as his hands clenched themselves into fists. “Now then…” he seethed. “What… the hell… did you think you were doing?!”
