I typed that message when i was half asleep. still on the go (and half asleep sadly), but to be quick, here is the article i was speaking of. Later on i'll sit down and read the longer portions of which others have stated since, life ;-;.Now that i study it more in depth, it seems....more unbiased than most articles but i guess still could be considered "pro-evolution". I'm curious. how would you interpret this?

Ignorant.

The biggest grouse they postulate with the evolution theory is that if everything evolved into place, shouldn’t they have also evolved out of place? How can things so dramatically change over some billion years and then not change over the next few billion years? It is a bit difficult to argue with them in that regard.

It's not hard to argue with them at all, as evolution is essentially survival of the fittest. Those who are best adapted to surviving in their surroundings have the best chance of reproducing and passing down their genetic code, and in doing so their offspring is likely to have a good chance at survival also. We humans on the other hand, rather than adapting to our environment are able to adapt our environment. Even so,not in all parts. The biggest one there is still the carrier-disease cycle, which is essentially a part of evolution. If you would go hundred years back in time with as much as a cold, you could kill an entire village, because besides our immune system has changed over the years, as both diseases and immune systems have changed in order to exist and co-exist... Creepy as the latter may sound.

Also it's totally biased.

Whether Evolution is real or not is not a debate that will end anytime soon but one thing remains sure, the human body is a perfect machine. Probably the greatest machine to have ever been in existence, and whatever is responsible for it is on a level higher than our level of reasoning as human beings.

Read: because god. 'cause see, evolution doesn't speak of intelligent design, but evolutionary design. ie, there is no intelligence behind it's design, it's, again, a process of those able best to survive surviving and reproducing. By ending the article on this note, the author showcases a clear bias.

0,0 Oh shite that's a lot of agility. Also what's that pdef and sdef from Valor? Just to be sure...

Oh right. Basically extra POW and SPI it can't use offensively. The player gave Valor the ability to syphon armour, using it for defensive purposes, and since it killed a lot of sand drakes on their instinctual mission it got their stats as a bonus. Though they only apply when he's getting hit.

EDIT: Also added clayman post!
Hah. We'll see. Also Piper is up. Next; Clayman.
First mission, up. Quick notes for you guys;

Emily's stats, thanks to Vignar and Diane are now 9-9-15. So yeah, that's big ;p As for the opposition;

Steve
8/3/6

Valor
6/7/3 (pdef+4, sdef+2)

Eight (Octal's spirit)
4/5/7
0/13sp BINOCULAR-2, SCAN-4, TELEPATHY-1

And yes that entire team was compromised out of knights. Ironically we started out with having rooks in the minority ;p Shows you how much can change over a couple years.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

From Vignar's spell, a familiar face to both Emily and their opponents came to be; Octal Chaser, the third member of Sean's party who had previously been killed by the mother dragon. Bound to Vignar's commands, the ghost summoned a twin spirit which rushed towards Diane and assisted her in her escape from the quicksand; fragments before Steve jumped from it and attempted to swallow Diane whole, something it would've done weren't it for her and Vignar's quick reaction!

Fran, like Emily and Vignar, was entangled by the chains. It wasn't looking good, she sumrised in a daze. After all she wasn't used to battle like her mercenary colleagues. She left a small shriek fly, but came to her senses shortly enough to pull through... Now that Steve was above ground. Fran closed her eyes and cast a spell; green lines of light weaved underneath her feet and formed a cage around the battlefield; locking the librarians and their opponents away from the near drakes and werecats. She had created an isolated space to fight... And between Vignar's shout and Diane's song, Emily was by far the most powerful holder in said cage...

The cage rose above ground; dumping the sand back into the desert and giving the holders stability. Valor's chains became visible, and Steve had nowhere left to dig. Instead, the ragworm decided to lunge towards Vignar, who was still entangled in chains...

In an attempt to unbalance her, Valor's chains jerked at Emily's ankles. The arrow hit once again, but with slightly more power thanks to Vignar's support. It actually pierced into the armour, causing Sean to roar in pain. However, perhaps more notably, a part of the armour began to loosen. Scales dropped from the shoulder-pad like snowflakes from a tree it had bumped into. What did that mean?

Will 'o the Piper

Upon touching Charles, Sigmund, and even Eidren, felt their bodies being pulled from their world. Suddenly it was not the small creature and Charles growing transparent, but the world around them! They were being sucked into place that existed parallel to where they had just stood. The blades of grass that had previously existed underneath their feet passed through their bodies like ghosts and instead, the floor was like a pale glass. The stars in the sky shone far brighter than their counter-parts and illuminated the area. The river in this spirit world had even gained dozens of colours, as it was a mixture of green and blue lights. Yet amidst all this they saw something something even more amazing; Sophia, Medusa and Alyssa were given form! They no longer existed merely to their respective holders; but could be seen by all!

In the spirit world, more of the slimy green creatures their kin existed. As Charles had suspected, some of the previously kidnapped children were also present. Some played with the kappa, whereas others were sleeping in cages. However, there were far less children at the spot than multiple kidnappings would suggest.

The creature with the flute stopped playing, which would snap Charles from his dreams, to converse with it's kin. They seemed confused, but also panicking, but none of their spoken language would make any sense to Sigmund or Charles' ears. Yet it was clear the creatures were in disarray. Was it that humans entered their world on their own accord? Or perhaps something else...

A Clayman's Finale

Although clearly displeased with being reduced to a flying taxi, Noelle grabbed the researchers by their clutches and prepared to race them outside without even granting as much as a second glance at her colleagues. With one of Valenci's pawns in each hand, she rushed down the corridor, already spreading her wings; barely making it through the closing forcefield. It would only be shortly after until the leftover librarians would get a telepathic message from Ladon;

“Noelle says she managed to save... In her words, “Their sorry asses.” and will be back in as soon as she finds a passage. Please move on with the mission.”

And so they would. Soneillon would clear the traps in front of them as ordered by it's holder, soaking up multiple poisonous darts before Adeline and Maria entered the tombs Adeline had been before. It was a poorly lit, wide-open space, clearly robbed off it's treasures. There were smaller, simpler tombs spread around but clearly marks there had been larger ones... Such as the one that had been in the museum back in Calacany.

The room was deadly silent. Yet, according to the intel they had received from Nuka's Tsenahale before, there were voices coming from behind the walls. Now it seemed no such sounds existed anymore, but it was likely worth investigating as one of said voices had been doctor Valenci's... However, in the middle of the darkness of the room, something seemed to be moving...

Lux and Salia meanwhile, followed another path to an overgrown garden. It was in the open air, but filled with brightly coloured flowers... Although if they had read the reports of the Library's first mission in these ruins, they would know that a man named Ramza had reported the flowers to spread poisonous pollen at the slightest touch. In accordance, the movement of the entire ruins had shifted and shook the foundation of the garden, and the plaza seemed to be torn and twisted in multiple places. Paths varied from horizontal, to vertical to even upside-down! There were already pollen afloat and worse; there was a golem 'sleeping' in the corner...
I side with evolution, if this is a debate at all. Evolution is not simply a theory, it is actually observable in creatures with a short enough life-span, so there is not any reason to deny it other than wilful ignorance. Meanwhile, there are plenty reasons not to believe in creationism; in-breeding is a pretty big one. People are entitled to having these views, however that does not make them right or even valid arguments.

Playing DAO, reading the Library, post soon™

Right ;)

Anyway, I'm finally free! For the weekend... I hope. So expect a post... I hope...
I don't play a lot of free, or well, any at all, so I can't go very in-depth there. As far as casual and advanced go;

Casual's main strengths are having a huge audience, easily excitable players who are ready to jump in. You can also work in a lot of different things and ideas because players can switch and adapt quite easily, provided your ideas are interesting.

Casual's main weaknesses are that because there are so many alternatives players drop more easily and so everyone tends to be less committed. Also don't attempt too complicated engines or plot-lines, because casual players just want to pick up and play.

Advanced's main strength is that when a game gets off, it offers the best potential for depth and complexity, due to the slower pace and patience of the players. It's also the section where you don't have to worry about skipping a week of posting and can go at it quite relaxed.

Advanced's main weakness is that between the slower post frequency and... Frankly a lot of people writing more words than content, the pacing can be horrible. Some of the hardest to read posts on the forum can be found in advanced, as well as some of the longest intervals between posts. While players won't switch gears as quickly as in casual, this is no less deadly for your game because every so often people will think your game is dead while one post would've saved it. ie, as a GM ALWAYS have IC important elements to reply to for everyone. Also learn to use your OOC far more than your IC.
Slowly. It's my turn and as you know from the Library, there's a lot of busywork for me atm.

Mmm, true, that. I think the RPG-esque nature of starting with a fledgling character contrasts with the original idea of my character, who'd have been a bit higher in the echelons of the political-military spectrum. I guess I'll get back to thinking.

Or have him be wounded during their latest ventures in the bio, then make sure revalidation is a bitch.
