I'd be interested in playing a dwarf. It would be helpful, of course, to have more information on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the different races, as well as more info. on race relations, before making a decision. This sounds like an odd mixture of Tolkien and Warhammer themes, which is a definite plus if you ask me, I just didn't want to type anything up without knowing a little more about the setting as you envision it as opposed to the stereotypes I carry around concerning these fantasy races.
Any ideas about relative power levels of the in-game characters? I understand keeping actual game mechanics to a minimum, and the story is more important than the specifics of +whatever freezing longswords or attack bonuses, for instance, I guess I am just curious because I have played a lot of D&D and feel that the information I have as a person a character in this RP would probably have.
Sounds motherfuckin' fun, too motherfuckin' bad nobody else seems to think so...motherfucka'...Sorry, couldn't help myself. If more people wanna do it, I am in. How many players are you looking for? Also, it would be nice to know more about the nature of the plane and why there are snakes on it. Are you just going to use the plot from the movie or what? No ideas on the dice rolling aspect of things.
Definitely interested. You know they made a videogame kind of like this? I think its on android or something, but there's no drama between the people playing the RPG, just dork humor. I guess I would want to play a college drop-out who is starting his own business, a business that is off to a shaky start, named Greg Puwolski. Bean pole, glasses, dark hair and eyes. He plays a Drow Rogue--if not allowing Drow as a playable race, I understand, and will go Gnome Illusionist. Never actually played Gnome Illusionist, seems fun but also great way to die before reaching lvl. 2. Anyways, really dig the concept.
If I could just throw out a few ideas, you are really close to a kernel of an idea I had for a short story. Back in the day when leprosy ad the black plague were going around, people with leprosy were in a unique social situation, in that they were considered to be victims of their illness due to some sin against God. However, leprosy was their punishment, not hell. They called it the "divine disease" because while such people were cursed, they were also paying their penance simultaneously. Anyways, such people were segregated into camps, some of which were quite large, positioned outside of major cities all across Europe. Such an environment would be so suited for a story, and could make for great RP possibilities. If you wanted to,characters could explore the whole "good vs. evil" morality thing. I mean, if God has blasted people all around them with flesh-rotting or quick-and-sure-death disease, they have to be wondering why: why are my neighbors dead, why am I alive, WTF God, you know, that kinda' thing.
Anyways, not terribly interested, but the title is perfect, really caught my eye, just wanted to make a suggestion.
Count me in, preferably as Chief Cryostasis or Agricultural Officer. Already building a slacker/stoner concept around the endless possibilities involved with he vast oceans of space. Alternatively, I would totally play some sort of in a pinch I would do science officer, but be prepared for me to go a little mad professor with that role if it is assigned to me. Anyways, hope this one works out, sounds frickin' cool.
By the way, why the heck does everyone's avatar start as a random unicorn with a rainbow background? Not exactly everybody's favorite motif, or at least not mine, let me speak for meself.

This sounds very interesting and I would like to submit the following app for approval in the event that you find enough people to run the RP.

Name of Tribe: Hasheen dar Al'Nok (Sons of Al'Nok)
Size of Tribe: Varies in accordance with the festivals, during which time a few member are sacrificed to Al'Nok, who is their chief god and who is thought to have an affinity for fire as well as the power to bring prosperity to his loyal worshipers. They average 40 to 50.
Brief History: Previously a directionless nomadic people known simply as the Folk, the tribe came under new leadership a few generations ago when they converted to the worship of Al'Nok. Since then, they have enjoyed great bounty despite hailing from a desolate wasteland of desert steppes. They seek to convert others to their faith, and are willing to go to great lengths to do so. While they will employ warfare as a last resort, they are proficient and ruthless adversaries with great aptitude for horsemanship and archery. The priesthood of Al'Nok leads the tribe in all matters, making any major decisions as far as were they will travel and what means to utilize in attempts to convert their rivals. Those who are unwilling to convert, even after offers of diplomacy and displays of generosity, are generally set upon and slaughtered, their remains burned as an offering to Al'Nok, who while kind and comforting to his children is terrible in his wrath. As a nomadic tribe, they have not taken the time to develop great architectural skill, nor are they much use when it comes to crafting. It goes without saying that they have no concept of sailing, or even what a lake looks like, let alone the ocean. They are adept at hunting and foraging, and many moons in the desert has made them a hardy people who are used to grumbling stomachs.
Jobs: Six priests of Al'Nok(emberfists), roughly ten children, another ten women(who along with their children forage for food and tend the camps), and twenty to thirty males(who divide their time between hunting, scouting, spreading the word of Al'Nok, and eliminating those who worship other gods). When the spirit of Al'Nok takes them, any member of the tribe save for the children can be formidable in battle.
Advantages: Emberfists-4, Warrior's Blood-2, Mounted-2, Hunters-2, Gatherers-1.
