Actually a universal translator is pretty BS. We're not meant to intantly know languages, and a Universal Translator is okay, if you have found out the discovery of the language, studied it, and translated it, able to put it into a device. My alien race will mostly be hostile, not hostile to new species at first (giving them a chance or seeing what they are capable of), but they will become offensive out of being defensive. I'm giving opportunity for peace or co-existence instead of fighting, but if people want that, they know what to do
Barely able to communicate, meaning... There is only one type of creature in the species that has the ability to communicate in language but has large difficulty and/or chooses not to. But there are multiples of this creature
I'll start up a sheet when I arrive home, which will be in about 4 hours.
Couldn't tell if that was sarcasm or not.
Barely able to communicate alien species, can I make a Nation like that?
P.S. - I will admit that I am over-confident about my strategic skills. And that is all.
Solterra has no power at all. The most he has is 1,000 troops and 5,000 domestic peoples that are almost guaranteed to follow him no matter what. The rest of his "Kingdom" is comprised of Lundland people. And to them, Solterra is just some village boy from the Ordained Kingdom that inherited riches from an old fart and was given Lordship because of it. Solterra is nothing compared to even the lowliest Lord that actually has a real reason for Lordship.

Ask Flooby, Solterra only has his word. Throughout the entire roleplay he was struggling to keep power as he had no reason to even be a Lord in Lundland so it was not only other Lords/Ladies that disliked him. It was through morale alone he had caused the people in his Kingdom to calm down and for his troops to die alongside him no matter what. Every battle Solterra went against he didn't get the bad side, he promised the safety of everyone in his Kingdom because that's all he could give. It was because the fact they started to see the truth in Solterra that soldiers were about to raise from peasants without force or draft. Solterra gained so much money from the pillaging of the churches which he used to feed people and rebuild the churches. He gained extreme amounts of food from taking the Fortress of Trisch. He became rich and gave everyone a little something before the war started simply because he thought they deserved better.

At ANY time, they could have ALL deserted, but because of his words and his promises, they all stayed by his side. Ask Flooby, please do, I've said it so many times. Solterra was struggling to keep control and power, and he nearly lost his capital. But even Flooby said I practically didn't have to ask, anyone from any fief was ready and willing to grab a sword and fight by Solterra.

It's one reason why Solterra was going to leave.

Ask Flooby, ask him
You would have had 50,000 rabble. They would kill possibly about 10k of my troops, but probably less if I had the Mishfardens do a rear surprise attack. Also, I didn't expect for them to win a fight. If you had agreed, Wolf would have just been taken into questioning and not threatened. If he was found guilty and he plead guilty Solterra would probably have just charged him for like 10k bullis. If Wolff rejected, as expected, doesn't matter. They served as a direct threat to Wolff and would make a last ditch effort to kill as many of his people and property as possible. Their job was successful.

Also, So Boerd, that's okay. Solterra would have eventually just threw fire at your villages and sent the Mishfardens in to rape and pillage, killing morale
Artillery can reach artillery, and Solterra had the right kind to demolish said navy if they attacked Olga. Not much a pile of floating debris can do. While you had the best navy, can't do much to an army of ballista. They can use castles as cover and rain fire into ships, so if the holes don't sink them, the fire will. Perks of knowing better.
Yeah, but trusted by who? And do you lie OOCly like your character would apparently lie in IC? Or are you just not trustworthy to anyone? Because a line has to be drawn at some point as apparently Olga's people can trust Olga. Solterra didn't give a damn if Olga wanted his land he was going to give it without a fight and give her even more. He just wanted his sister and he was done with Lundlands
