True, but I'm content to wait. Also waiting for a few hours, in game time, to pass before I react to Cale's post, simply because I feel it would be odd for those scouts to both land & find Trump within a couple of hours, presumably 3-5 hours if they're unhindered.

Waiting for yoooooou

Even in a galaxy where everyone is poor, surely in the span of eight years she could've bartered her way into getting some ship upgraded instead of money. It just seems incredibly lame that a decades worth of work nets you 700 credits and a ship that barely worked when you got it and still barely functions.

The 700 was after you purchased your entire ship assuming you purchased it. I was trying to be generous but then again you don't seem to understand the entire roleplay so it's okay.
Aside from that, if you're smuggling, you're getting resources to someone illegally, and the pirates won't give you credits, they'd give you your life. If you travel within the pirate territory, they don't care who you are, they feel like they own you. And the only people would be illegal to smuggle to from DFT standpoint is Sith or Empire or the BHG, which means you'd be hunted in both Pirate and DFT territory, whiuch might mean you're hunted by BHG in general. If you were smuggling for DFT you'd be smuggling information, and DFT wouldn't give you much compared to Empire either, and the Sith are poor. If you were allies with DFT or even the BHG, you'd need a freighter license or bounty hunting license within DFT territory, without it, you'd again be hunted down. Not killed, but charge, unless you did something unruly. But if you couldn't pay the credit fine, items would be taken from you. This is all food for thought for everyone.

In eight years of smuggling, she couldn't have saved up for a craft that actually works? Cause The Light struck a few months after she started and apparently it's almost been a decade since then. :P

Everyone is poor because all the banks have been destroyed, leaving people with only the credits in their pockets. While some flourished because they had trillions in their pockets, some did not. Which is why there are smaller organizations rising up. I don't think we need inflation, either. But what this also means is that everything is extremely cheaper than what it was before. A couple hundred credits could probably buy you a little land and a house now, depending on the area. And an example of back on Taris in KotOR, Davik was one of the richest fuckers on the planet as a solo man with his Exchange, but he himself still could not afford a ship of his own, and even when he did, it still wasn't bigger than 3-4 TIE fighters. And he was rich, so, yeah.

With living expenses such as consumables, fuel, repairs, restock, ammunition, if Sep really thinks you could have saved up over 50k, then we will talk, but only then.

Also, you don't need a tongue in every single post, it's starting to ache at me.
Dathomir, DFT Orbital Station; Docking area

The only individual standing nearby was a DFT Soldier, standing guard by the docking hatch, every guard had one stationed by it at least. But his weapon was not drawn and he greeted Ghes. "Greetings sir. Leader Tiberius called off Initial Contact just for you," he said, referring to Initial Contact as if it was a strategy, "You must have something special about you. For that, I give you a gracious welcome to DF--" The soldier was interrupted as an old man accompanied by some clacking sounds came running up. "Ghes! Sorry about that, the codes I've been making for you all haven't quite been finished yet!" It was Tiberius, accompanied by 4 War Droids acting as guards and colored white with ice blue lines in a pattern. Their weapons were drawn but in a standard droid holding pattern, not aiming or anything. "Hello Ghes, how are," he stopped, taking a breath as he hunched over slightly, the droids helping him stand back up, "Ah, how are you, " he cleared his throat. "'Was a little much coming here in your Dreadnought, wasn't it? My Fleets are currently in their battle positions so they are a little far from home. You weren't planning to attack me, were you? Ah, Ghes, haha, what's up? What do you need?"
