Sura let out a puff of air to move the bit of hair that had fallen in her eyes. Her hands were currently occupied by a tray full of used glasses and dirty dishes. The lunch rush had just ended and the task of cleaning up the mess was left to her. Her hands trembled slightly with the weight of the tray as she placed it atop the counter. She used the back of her dirty hands to move the rest of her hair out of the way. It had been months since the invasion had begun, and Sura was sick of it. She wanted these people out of her home. She wanted her house to be whole again, and most of all she wanted her sister back.

Rebecca unfortunately took after her father, with brown hair and brown eyes and the prominent Jewish nose. She was one of the first taken to the camps. Sura could still hear her screams in the middle of the night. It was a horrible thought, but she was grateful her mother had passed on before this had all happened. She wouldn't have survived it. The only reason Sura had escaped capture was because her father had claimed she was adopted. Her blue eyes and blonde hair had validated the lie, along with her perfect command of German.

"Come on, girl! Get your head out of the clouds and back on the tables where they belong!" A tall wiry man behind the counter bellowed. She quickly cleared the tray of the dirty dishes and went back to clean up the rest, weaving through the patrons that continued to mingle on the floor, talking about this or that involving the war. She scowled. She wanted it none of it, but in actuality, what could she possibly do to avoid it?

There were a few things she was grateful to the invasion for and the first among those was the prospect of marriage. She wasn't opposed to the idea of it, of course. But rather that she didn't want to marry someone she didn't love. Her father had introduced her to many fine young men, but all of them had the same insufferable trait. They treated her as chattel, a prize to be won. She wanted someone to marry her because of her mind, because of what she had to say on matters that women had no say in. Not simply because she had a pretty face. She sighed, catching a glimpse of a girl sitting at a table she had just cleaned.

She took her notepad out of her apron and made her way to her. "Is there anything I can get you?" she asked politely. It was the last thing she wanted to do. The uniform she was wearing was a dead giveaway as to who she was and she couldn't help but feel contempt for the Nazi nurse. It mattered little that her profession was actually a noble one and that Sura secretly wished there was something she could do for the cause. The fear of being discovered was too great for her to risk it however, so she waited tables to be kept in the loop. "We're out of today's special, but we have plenty on the menu."
I'd be interested in the PrincessxServant pairing! You can find some of my current RP's in my signature.

Mira loved the idea of saving money, "A few trips is fine, it'll give us some time to get to know each other before we shack up," she nudged Charlie playfully. She blushed again, feeling silly for behaving like a schoolgirl with a crush. The size of the kitchen actually astounded Mira, since the kitchen at her place was the size of a thimble. She couldn't help but smile at Charlie's excitement, it was cute. Her new roommate's upbeat attitude was refreshing, and it put Mira in a better mood almost instantly. She followed her to her car and got in, buckling her seatbelt. She watched Charlie put some music on and dance to the beat, so Mira joined in. What did she have to lose?

She smiled at Charlie's statement about being a dork. "Psh, don't worry about it," she said with a smile. "We're bound to do some really dorky and embarrassing things as roommates, might as well start now." She joined in with Charlie's dancing and singing, thinking this is the most fun she'd had in a really long while. Mira thought she would suggest going to her place first, since she had a bit more stuff. "We can head to my place first. I don't have like, tons of stuff, but I think it would be better to get the hard stuff out of the way so we can eat. I live just a bit over a mile down this road here," she pointed at the street in front of her. She propped one leg up against the center console and put her hair up into a messy bun, the sun beating down was making it stick to the back of her neck. She eyed Charlie with her peripherals. She couldn't deny that she was really pretty. Her green eyes glistening with the reflection of the road in front of them, the way she flipped her golden hair around as she bopped to the music. "You're cute," she said aloud. Her eyes opened wide and her mouth hung open a bit in surprise. She turned to look out of the window, mumbling a soft apology. Shit, she thought. Way to go, she's probably going to drive off when we get back to my place.
New York is actually awful, but I only say that because I'm jaded hahaha, most people who come here never really want to leave.

I was searching for a few choice words Lenora could call Evelyn when she was out of earshot, so I thought I'd link you in case we ever need them down the line.
Victorian Swear Words
Victorian Slang

Little Lenora is PO'd to say the very least. I can't wait to see where this goes, I totally ship them alreadyyyyy!
Lenora awoke with a start at the sound of the ringing bell, making her to fall out of the tiny bed with a large thud. "Ow," she groaned sleepily. She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a moment, swearing that she had most likely broken something with the fall. "What in blazes could this cherry want at the wee hours of the bloody morning?" she cursed, throwing etiquette straight out the window.

She examined the room for a clock, but found none. "Of course, the last maid probably threw it at her head," she said, rubbing her bum where it had hit the hardwood floor. She walked slowly over to the mirror to fix her maid's bonnet and smooth her skirt. She really wanted to make her new mistress wait a bit, so that she could change into her night gown and make her feel terrible for waking her, but Lenora was anxious to see what the Dickens she wanted.

She wiped a bit of spit that had crept onto her cheek as she slept. "Oh, that's very attractive." She didn't even know why she cared, she thought as she rubbed her eyes with clenched fists. She scurried quickly to the door and hurried down the stairs, careful that her heeled boots didn't make too much noise on the already loudly creaking stairs. She rapped on the door once and opened the door to her mistress's bedroom, curtsying as she walked in. "At your service, milady," she said, but what she was really thinking would surely send her packing.
This roleplay makes me fangirl... A LOT. Hopefully on this sea voyage, Cecilia can convince Elena she's not so bad. I totally ship them already!!
