Jemal / Tyson

Male – 15 years old

Special Ability: An unusual ability to control a deadly super virus. If Jemal chooses to, he can infect someone just by touching them, and he can control the degree of which the virus will spread, but if angry enough, he can infect anyone withing a radius of 10 meters. If the degree of the virus is high, people can get infected just by breathing the same air as people who are already carrying the virus. Just as Jemal has the ability to give the virus, he also has the ability to take it away, or even the ability to give someone immunity like himself. The virus eats the flesh, and depending on the degree, it can kill someone within a few hours after contact. First symptoms start with a great lack of energy and burn like marks on the skin, and eventually loss of vision. Eventually before death, an individual will go into a zombie like state, where the virus has taken over the nerve system, giving Jemal the ability to control them like puppets. Their bodies will remain alive as long as Jemal controls them, but when he lets go off the control, the virus will stop and with it the body will too. The limits of how far and how many he can infect is unknown because Jemal never dared to use his ability unless was absolutely necessary.

Bio:

Jemal was born in some village in Africa, He was found by an American scientist named Alex, who was researching a deadly disease in that region. When Alex found him, he was alone, alive amongst hundreds of dead bodies, and although she was wearing a suit to protect herself from the infection, the little baby boy was wearing nothing but a piece of cloth over his little stomach, which lead Alex to believe he was immune which could be leading her to a cure. She took him back with her to Winslow, Arizona, where she lived with her husband Jerry and her 13 year old daughter, Page.

The Metrolabs is where Alex worked, and after a few months of gentle tests, Alex and her co workers could not find what was special with the boy, the facility manager George, told Alex she has to take the boy away because he is just wasting their time. While Alex was considering giving the boy to an orphanage, everyday after testing she would bring him home, and after a few months the family grew fond of the boy, so she decided to adopt him. Alex named him Tyson.

A year and a half later, Tyson still in his toddler hood, started to show signs of sickness, much like the disease Alex was researching in Africa. She quickly grabbed him and brought him to the lab, where she was greeted by the horrifying smell of rotten flesh, and the sight of the people who she worked with, dead. She walked in holding Tyson, shocked trying to make sense of the scenery, her foot been grabbed by George who struggled to talk, until finally said “The boy... Kill...” were his last words. She turned around and a black man was standing there, his skin was rotten as well but it looked different, almost as if it was a different version of the disease. “Give me back Jemal” the Man said, she ran the other way hiding in the cafeteria still holding Tyson, who to her surprise was silent. She realized quickly that the Man was Tyson's.. no, Jemal's father.
Her husband arrived, Alex realizing she pocket dialled him, and as he walked in, Jemal's father grabbed her husband by the neck, and waited for the virus to spread, but to everyone's surprise he appeared to be immune. Alex quickly realized that she too was immune as she was holding Jemal. Alex's husband kicked Jemal's father in the stomach, he pushed him and then grabbed a stapler from the desk and beat Jemal's father to death with it. After the incident in the Metrolabs, the family moved to Miami, Florida, far away where they could start a new. Page and her father continued to call him Tyson, while Alex called him by his birth given name, Jemal.

Alex dedicated the following 13 years helping her son learn how to control, what she considered, his curse, and when page was a little older she helped her mother with research. Tyson's relationship with page was strong, she took him to see a new movie every Saturday, and they would play basketball together in the back yard all the time. When Page would be sad, he would always come to her room and the two would talk for hours, and it was obvious to everyone that he was very mature. Eventually Page moved out on her own with her best friend Lexy. Tyson also grew up to be great at painting, as it was one of Alex's research on him. Every week she would come by with new supplies and give him a new canvas and let him draw whatever was on his mind. Nowadays their house is full of his paintings, almost like a museum.

A few months ago, Alex and her husband were both killed in a car accident, which devastated Jemal so much he appeared to have lost control of his abilities, when police found the neighbours dead from an unknown infection. Page, knowing she's now immune, let Tyson move in with her for the time being while her friend Lexy was in France visiting her grandparents, or at least until she finds someone who can teach him to control his curse.

Soul Reaper - "Modern North American version of Bleach"

I don't know how many Bleach fans are here and how many people hate Bleach, but for either or, THIS ISN'T BLEACH, just an Idea of a more modern version of it.
you might say it is my interpretation of the anime :)

Setting: 2015! :D

just a quick summary of the idea: (I will write a more organised summary if there is interest, below is what I wrote in 5 min)
There is an invisible force that's connecting the soul to the body, even when the soul leaves, the connection can remain. to those gifted individuals who can see souls, can also see the form of light string attaching the soul to its body, however when someone dies, the string rips leaving the soul wondering. Usually souls just go to see their loved ones, to make sure they're safe and then the souls move on from this realm, but some souls, who have some sort of an unfinished business will not be able to leave this realm on their own, even if they wanted to, until they finished what they needed to. That causes an imbalance between our realm and the underworld, and also puts the living in danger, because when a soul's string is ripped, it is exposed to the darkness that will slowly consume it. The Darkness is an intelligent self aware force that in time corrupts souls, which either creates vengeful spirit, or a certain kind of a curse. For that reason the Master of the Underworld created the Reapers, Doomed souls with a chance to redeem themselves after reaping 1000 corrupt souls. They are called Reapers because souls are attached to our realm, and Reapers literally have to reap them.

Once upon a time, John Spark, a Reaper, witnessed the beauty of a living woman named Leah. He realized that as a Reaper he could be disguised as a living man as well, and lured her into bed, unknowingly creating something unexpected. Nine months later, Leah gave birth to the first living Soul Reaper. After John, three more Reapers followed his foot steps giving birth to more living Reapers, until the Master finally found out. The master was so angry he cursed all humans, that if they be kissed by a Reaper, their soul shall be reaped regardless of them being alive - killing them.

ok that was the summary, you're probably confused about a few terms so let me explain, and go into detail below

String of Life:
refering to the string attaching the soul to the body, Reapers get a fake body when in the living realm, attached by a String of Death instea.

Souls and Spirits:
yes there is a difference... Souls are powerless, while spirits aren't. Spirits can be seen by the living if they wanted to, they can become energies of the four elements, or they can possess buildings and people. Spirits in most cases cannot control themselves but instead are controlled by some sort of meaning, or by the Darkness.

The Darkness:
It is a self aware source of energy, although it doesn't have a shape or form, it can see and hear through the souls it corrupted. it can talk through the spirits and is mostly just interested in destroying the forces of the living. The Master says that the Darkness was once his friend, but they disagreed on how they should handle the living, which leads many to think that the Darkness has a motive, but what is unknown.

The Master of the Underworld:
mostly referred to as the Master, he is the deity of death. he appears in a form of a well dressed business man, his personality is kind and forgiving, but when he needs to be cruel, he has no boundaries. He has never stepped into the realm of the living.


Realms:
There are three Realms, and three deities, Realm of the living, the Underworld, and The Scintillate Dominion.

Gifted:
Humans who are able to see souls. sometimes are gifted with a special ability.

Soul Reapers:
Doomed souls given a chance to redeem themselves to the Master. The Master takes the memory of their sins, and gives them a fake body to carry in the living realm, after reaping 1000 corrupt souls, the Reaper can leave into the Scintillate Dominion. Soul Reapers wear and look like this

Soul Reapers can summon a small blade, they refer to it simply by "Blade" ("I will use my Blade") and each Reaper's blade has a special property to it, for example John's Blade could freeze everything it touched.

every blade has a unique appearance.

Living Reapers:
Individuals growing up thinking they are simply Gifted, until, very rarely they find out they can summon their own blade, and they can reap souls.

Anyway I think this could be really fun. Please guys consider this I think this is a great idea.
where will the story kick off if we play you ask? well everyone can pick their own beginning, as long as we all stay in the same city or at least area so we can all roleplay together. I do have a bigger story in mind but I feel it would be too early to reveal it before we even have any character development going on.

Dream

The idea behind the following RP, is inspired by a few questions.
Is death an end? is it the total blackness where what used to exist no longer does? do you simply, cease to exist? -

Welcome to the superstructure of the underworld - endless hallways and countless rooms, a charming velvet carpet spread across the seemingly continuous paths, the ceiling decorated with identical chandeliers over the brown doors, surrounded by an old navy blue drywall, with gentle patterns of winged angels and horned demons, peeling at its end. Walking down the hallway inspires a resemblance of an old Victorian hotel, where the smell of new furniture blends with the smell of dusty book shelves, classic jazz music plays somewhere in the distance, but no matter how far you walk, it seems just as far, and all together it simply carries a feel of comfort with a little discomfort creeping under.

The superstructure, is no hotel however, it is a maze, it is the echo of who we are in another existence, it's where we go when we sleep, and it's where we go when we die, but whether you are dead, dying, or just asleep is unknown to you because when you are in the superstructure, you remember nothing but your name and the name of someone you love. All who fall into the superstructure with unfinished business are trapped inside until they resolve what they haven't, and only then can they either wake up, or move on. You simply wake up in a room, confused, with a key to a necklace wrapped around your neck, a key to your special door, and slowly as you progress through the endless hallways, your memories return.

The idea of the RP is to have a group of people trapped inside the superstructure, their keys have been taken by a woman who they call the 'Countess' and together they try to find the villain and return home. you will be roleplaying fear of the unknown, are you dead or just asleep? do you even want to find your key? is there someone you must return to? you all have your own reasons to fight and go back, and slowly you will remember those reasons. Another thing to mention is every each one of you has a gift given by the superstructure, an object that has special properties, for example, a pocket watch that can rewind to 10 seconds earlier.

if people are interested, I will write more to explain the plot better, but you get the general idea. I will also list all the special objects as well.
since im writing this when tired and rushed it I probably didnt explain it very well so feel free to ask questions if you aren't sure whether you're interested or not.
