Evan stared down at her with great disapproval. "Yes. Someone. You know, someone that does not menstruate monthly. Don't you think you're a little under-qualified for this job?" He asked, narrowing his eyes towards her. His mother simply gave him a swift smack against the back of his head, and shook her head towards him.

"You've got to forgive my son, he is quite close minded to the ways that things can work. If you won't mind him constantly trying to make you feel like you're not good enough for this job - which I assure you that you are, because we went and did some background work on you and I must say that I'm quite impressed." She smiled, and then glanced towards her husband. "Then you are more than welcome to accept. Is there a price point you had in mind for looking after our son?"

Evan stood up and stared at her in disbelief. "What about what -I- want? Why even invite me to pick my guard if you're going to pick the one that I detest the -most-?!" He was at a loss. His mother smiled towards him and simply pat his head. "Because she is the most interested in your safety. You'll thank me. You don't know how bodyguards work. Women are a lot more adept at fighting people off and very flexible to not be stuck in a corner somewhere. She can handle her own, as can you. Now, if that temper is out of the way for the hour -- Miss Valetta?"
Sion nodded. “Jade huh? That’s pretty plain, but pretty enough for an Angel, I guess.” He shrugged. “No offense, though.” He smiled slightly and then tapped his chin in thought. “A wallet? I wouldn’t need one. I always frequent on Earth so of course I have one. I just would rather get someone out of their nice place instead of spending my own money on something I can just easily take.” Their journey towards the city seemed to be pretty long, and he noticed as the buildings got less and less extravagant, the people’s demeanors towards them diminished as well, but he was used to that. A quick glance in Jade’s direction and he could tell that she obviously was not.

At her small question about his expertise, he chuckled. “Well yes, I suppose that would be a fair area for me, wouldn’t it?” Hearing her comment about her clothes, he waved a dismissive hand towards her. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll get it taken care of, don’t worry about it.” Walking a little longer, maybe ten minutes or so, they ended up on a pretty busy looking part of town again. Tall buildings with windows and small balconies could be seen. He pointed up towards it. “There we are. That look good enough a place to stay in? We just have to scope out the area on one of the highest floors, and then pick our target. These kinds of places always have people going through deep emotional crap. Divorces, deaths, children getting married, blah blah blah.”

Moving around towards a store, he glanced down at her. “Do you want to fix your clothes now, or after we have a place to take them? Cause technically I can just go and “buy” you some clothes.” Though his tone stated something else in mind, that was probably stealing them. “If not, then we can go scope out our new apartment condo thing..”
The Demons were steadfast on their journey to the Heavens. They all realized the threat that was coming upon them. Nadia already had doubts that they might be let in without any confrontations at the gates. Within moments, the sizable army she had brought with her stood outside the gates, and a few guardsmen looked at them with extreme scrutiny and disgust. “Let us through, guard. We’re here on official business under the High Chancellor.” The both of them glanced towards each other in order to ask themselves if they should let this Demon into their palace, but since the mention of his lordship, they stood aside and opened the door, much to their dismay.

“Thank you.” The gesture was small, but meaningful. Walking inside, they were automatically directed towards the Grand Hall where the meeting of two races was to come together. The Demons seemed to keep their wits about them as they all sat around in the chairs, while some began to roughhouse and do as they pleased. Queen Nadia got up onto the podium and simply placed herself there, waiting for the other half to show. “You would think they would already be waiting for us as much of a fuss as this is becoming.” She commented and brushed some of her raven hair back from in front of her eyes.
Evan Reynolds glanced around as his mother and father barked orders towards a fleet of servants. He just did not understand it.

“Why does it have to be a woman?! You couldn’t have gotten me a bodyguard from the barracks of Launa? Their men are quite capable of defending not only men but entire kingdoms.”

He complained, sitting on the steps of his parent’s thrones and his head in his hands. Dark red hair fell over his right eye, and he had the rest of the length pulled backwards into a ponytail. Bright blue eyes stared forwards and the incessant chatter of people running here and there.

“You know that we only do this because it is for your own good.” His father responded.

“And plus, what would everyone think you attending events with a burly man on your arm? They think it odd. A woman would be a perfect cover.” His mother chimed with a smile on her face.

“Yes, I’m sure both those reasons are honest, especially yours mother, but what if she’s ugly? What if she’s…I don’t know…”

His mother simply laughed. “Oh please, Evan. Just give her a chance. Elaine! Let in our final guest!”

All the guards they had potentially gone through. This one had better be something special, because if not – then they would have to travel into yet another country to find more potential protectors.
(I'll shoot up the first post in a jiffy!)

Decided I'll probably just describe my character for this one.
Managed to get a post up before work! Gotta run! :D Look forward to reading your response!
Naomi stared up at the sky above her. The clear blue sky calmed her on early mornings like today. Surrounded by nature, she closed her eyes for a brief moment and exhaled in content. Nothing ever really went wrong here. Although she wasn’t totally naive to battle, because even here, in their world they had their fair share of those who came forward with intents to kill and take more lands for their own greed.

Something whispered in her ear. Something that intrigued her curiosity. She stood, and gave a stretch, having been lying in the grass for some few hours now. Glancing around, she tried to pinpoint the location of the little voice, and raised her eyebrows questioningly.

“I know I heard something. I could have sworn it said something about a portal..”

This wasn’t out of the ordinary in the slightest. Suddenly the whisper was back again, and a small nudge moved her a considerable distance from where she had been standing. Blinking in surprise, she continued to move forward, and after a time, felt a pull towards a river of sorts. She looked into it, and surprisingly enough she couldn’t see her reflection. She grabbed a nearby rock and tossed it into the water, which unsurprisingly sunk. It seemed like normal water, but there was definitely something off about it. She contemplated her actions, and decided it was time for a little excitement in her life.

“I’m sure there’s got to be something absolutely wonderful on the other side of this. Time to find out!”

And she simply walked into the water, disappearing as if she never was there. But when she emerged in this other realm, a world unknown to her, or really anyone else for that matter. That was alive, anyway. A chill went around her, and she found that even though her clothes were completely dry, she shivered. The intense air around her was gripping, and she rubbed her semi-gloved hands over her tanned exposed arms. Where was she anyway? She heard strange noises. Pow. Pow. Pow. It had to be the strangest noise she had ever heard. She pressed forward, making her way through some buildings, looking for anyone to ask what town this was, or even where she had ended up to. Certainly portals don’t just lead to nowhere. Every portal has a destination, and every destination has a name.

But there were no signs of anyone, no plants, no moss, nothing. Not even an animal left behind. Nothing except the strange noises she had heard. But now they were gone, and it was no way to find out where they had come from. Noises seemed to bounce off everything. It was mildly concerning that she couldn’t pinpoint or see what or who had made the noise. But at the time, that gave her mixed emotions. That could mean that someone was here! But their intent towards others was still unclear. Maybe she should just get somewhere high up and try to find them? If she could find them first, maybe she could make an understanding about working together.

She moved to climb onto a ladder, when it broke.

“Ah!”

It had seen better days, and the loud clattering noise the rusted metal made was not pleasant. Glancing around, she bit her bottom lip slightly. The silence was deafening. And she wasn’t anywhere closer to figuring out a plan to find where the noise had come from than just walking around until she bumped into someone, and she didn’t like the sound of that quite frankly.
*Boop* :)

It's been snowing here so I have a good bit of free time for a little bit.
Sion heard as the two of them ended their speeches, he glanced to his left to see an Angel with brunette hair that flowed to her waist, and clad in white robes. He raised an eyebrow slightly towards her appearance towards him, but quickly heard that they were to be partnered together for the duration of this battle. Hearing her rather meek and sad attempt at conversation, Sion laughed lightly. It was hard to determine if he was laughing at her or with her at the situation they had been put in. But Sion didn’t really
blend in with the Demons around them. His appearance had an almost elegant feel to it, ethereal if you will.

“It sure seems that way, doesn’t it? We’re going to be together for quite some time, so we may as well get all the formalities out of the way. Sion Vanders, Demon. And I already know you’re an Angel, but your name, Miss?”

He looked at her rather expectantly as they made their way towards the departing stations for Earth. The air around them grew warm as the magic swirled around them. They were all wished luck as they soon were pulled from The Heavens and towards Earth itself. He landed with relative ease, and put a hand into his left pocket, leaving his thumb sticking out. His eyes scanned around the area they were in, and he shrugged as if nothing around them were of any interest to him. He had already given the brief ahead of time that they were going to be on Earth for quite some time. As long as it could take to get rid of The Enlightened. So that meant that they would have to try their best to blend in of sorts. But he had to admit, they did stick out a little, with her long brown hair and pure white dress to his unnaturally snow colored hair and rather tall stature next to her.

“We’re going to need somewhere to stay while we are on our mission here, Angel.”

He was thinking of where would be a perfect place for them to stay. Somewhere in the central area of this town would be ideal. He wouldn’t really recall where they had exactly landed. Somewhere where the hearts of humans were easily taken. He racked his brain a little before passing Jade another glance.

“Any idea of where we would end up where human’s hearts and desires could easily be taken advantage of?”

He didn’t really expect her to even know the answer to that, but he figured he may as well keep making them have conversation. He thought of places that might be it. Maybe Las Vegas, all those con artists roaming the streets..Did it even matter where they went? With the way the superiors were talking, they would be anywhere in a moment’s notice.
You're alright. :)
