Leith Calder Lyn's Hunt

Leith sighed in relief when the pressure on this leg lessened. He looked at the Naga that broke his leg and realized that she looked dead. Which was odd because she was still trying to kill him. It almost looked like Necromancy, but something wasn't right. The Naga was still bleeding. It seemed like there was some truth to the stories he had read about the Naga. They have to die twice, or something similar to that. Currently, though, he was still stuck, and the only thing keeping him relatively safe was the fact the sword acted as a buffer between him and the thing's fangs.

Two thumps made the Naga jerk and turn her head. It also caused her tail to loosen up on him slightly, and gave him enough room to act. Quickly, Leith shrunk the sword back down to regular size and pulled his arm free. He pointed the trinket at the Naga's head and enlarged the sword a second time.
Leith Calder Lyn's Hunt

Leith frowned at the man's surprise at what he said. The man was crazy to think that the forest itself wanted death. It just seemed a way to justify killing. The man looked like he had more to say, but he stopped suddenly as he saw something behind Leith and dispersed into a swarm of bugs. Leith turned around just in time to see Summer struck by the Naga and sent flying into a tree before falling still on the ground.

"No..." Leith whispered as he looked at Summer slumped on the ground. All he could do was hope that she was alive. With a lot of effort he peeled his eyes off of Summer and turned towards the Naga. He frowned at the sight of the arrow wound on the Naga. That looked like it should have been fatal, but the Naga was still upright, barely. Before he knew it, the Naga was lunging at him. Leith took a step back in surprise and stumbled over his feet. He would have fallen to the ground, but the Naga caught a hold of him. She pinned his arms to his sides and started wrapping her tail around his legs.

Leith knew he needed to act quickly if he wanted to keep his legs intact. Already, the pressure around his legs were increasing quickly and becoming painful. He couldn't move his arms enough to get a swing at the Naga with the axe he got from the Herbamancer. Seraphim Sword was in its trinket-like size, so he couldn't do anything about that.

Or could he? Leith reached into his pocket and grabbed his trinket-sized sword. He then carefully moved the sword around so the the tip was facing away from his body, and towards the Naga. Leith enlarged the sword and the sound of ripping cloth was heard as it tore through his pocket towards the Naga. After he had enlarged the sword, his leg broke. Blinding pain filled his mind as he screamed in pain.

Darius Jura Catacombs

Darius stared at the man in surprise as he screamed at him madly. This man was insane. He idolized the Demonmacner to the point of what looked like worship. In any other scenario, Darius would have left this man to die, but he was not alone, so he could not say that this man got away from them an got carried away by the Ridge Hounds. Which he still had to deal with. These ones were not jumping in stupidly like the others were. It looked like they were trying to tire him out by jumping in and out of reach. If he continued to fight them with swipes of his sword he would indeed tire out.

He needed a new approach. Sound does disorient them, but doing multiple loud pops were tiring him out. What he needed to do was to make a single massive pop. Darius took in a few deep breaths to ready himself, and start gathering air in a single point as he made moves against the hounds to prevent them from thinking he was tired out. It took him a few moments to gather enough air. When had enough, he took a deep breath

”COVER YOUR EARS!" he bellowed to the others before he detonated the collected air. It was massive. Enough to possibly disorient anyone not aware of the incoming explosion. After that, Darius fell to a knee. That had taken a lot out of him. Hopefully, it had been enough to disorient the hounds enough to allow everyone else to clean up.
I'll try to have a post up as well sometime tomorrow.
Leith Calder Lyn's Hunt

When the knight raised his crossbow and pointed it at Leith, Leith took a small step back in surprise. He wasn't expecting the knight to just shoot at him. With a grimace, he threw his hands up and started pulling water from the air to form a screen between him and the knight, but before he could work on the density of the water, the crossbow bolt punched through the screen. He watched, stupefied, as the bolt came flying towards him. No move he could make would help. He was going to die. When the bolt was halfway to him, something blew it out of the way. He looked over to see Meirin coming flying out of the woods towards the knight.

The wind that Meirin used to blow the crossbow bolt out of the way also started clearing the smoke. From the looks of it, Meirin could handle the knight. Summer, however, now that he could see, had to deal both with the Naga and a man aiming to cut the girl down. For a second, Leith thought he could see through the man's chest, but he blinked, and the hole was gone. Without another thought took off at a sprint towards the man. He covered ground quickly, but he was starting to tire. By the time he arrived, the man was halfway through his swing. Leith shot his hand out, and caught the man's axe by the blade. The sound of grating steel filled the area as the axe made contact with Leith's gauntlet.

”You're not...going to kill...anyone today," Leith managed to say between gasps for air. Then, he attempted to pull the axe out of the man's grasp, ready to fall back if anything unnatural happened.

Leith watched with a wince as he watched the girl get tossed away by the Naga. The way she fell showed that she had more than a few broken bones. That didn't help with the vampire hunter making his way towards her. He needed to stop the man, and Annabeth's idea sounded very promising. Taking a deep breath, Leith reached out with his arms and started pulling moisture from the air and dragged into the ground beneath the man's feet. He then started to churn the soil using the water he had gathered. Very quickly, mud would start forming under the man's feet and if he did nothing he would sink in the mud up to the middle of his shins.

That had taken a lot of effort from Leith, but he wasn't done yet. He pulled up his left sleeve and raked one of the talons from his gauntlet across his forearm to draw blood. He didn't know much about vampires, but from what he heard, blood can help them recover from injuries quickly, and they needed everyone they could get to help. He started pulling blood from his arm until he had a handful. After he had done that, he swayed momentarily as he felt a wave of dizziness flow over him, but he pushed through that and pulled down his sleeve and pulled up the hood of his cloak. He then sent the blood through the thickening smoke towards the downed vampire and pushed the small ball against her mouth and waited for her to start drinking.

At the same time as he sent the blood towards the girl, Leith walked towards the armoured man. "Killing vampires that can't fight back isn't something that you can talk about and sound like you were in the right. Why don't you fight a vampire that you can have a good story about?" he asked the armoured man to distract him from the blood that he was feeding to the girl, and he hoped that what could be seen of him made him look like a vampire to the hunter. The smoke from the arrow that Annabeth shot did a good job of hiding the girl from sight, but the man could just continue walking towards the girl.

Darius was angry at several things. He was angry at the amount of ridge hounds that were swarming them. He was angry at the fact that the Naga being here meant that most likely, the mission to gather resources will have to be stopped for them. He was angry at the insane man for leaving them to their own to attack the Naga, and he was angry at the fact that he let himself be unaware of the situation and having three ridge hounds jumping him from three different angles.

The anger went towards his Areomancy in a burst that went out around him. Knocking the ridge hounds of course. One went flying into a wall and went limp, and the other two landed safely an jumped at him again. Darius took a few deep breaths and then he was on the attack. He split the head of the ridge hound closest to him in half and stepped out of the way of the second hound, decapitating it with a savage swing as it went by.

"We need to regroup!" he shouted to the others as he started hacking his way towards the Naga and Ssarak. He heard Tyrael yelling at someone in the group of Naga, and then he heard a roar that came from deeper in the catacombs that sounded like Tyrael as well. It sounded like there was an imposter. The nice part was that the roar seemed to disrupt the ridge hounds enough that he could kill a few while they were stunned. He made his way closer to the Naga and found himself beside the insane man. He was cutting down ridge hounds and creating a pile that threatened to cover the man. His demon was back as well. He was covered in blood from what Darius could see blood was pouring out of the man's nose. There were wounds all over the man. If he were to continue, he could die. Darius pulled some of the ridge hounds away to get to the man. Once that was done, Darius entered the fray with the man.

"You need to stop now. You are overexerting yourself. Fall back to the others." He would continue fighting the ridge hounds with the man until he either agreed or didn't. If he didn't, he would attempt to drag the man back to the group where they would continue making their way towards the Ssarak and the Naga.

Leith sighed as his attack was blocked by the other Paich, but at least that meant it wasn't trying to dig him a grave. Screaming started echoing through the forest. He looked over at Summer as she started growing a weed towards him. He grabbed ahold of the weed and then transformed his sword back into the trinket sized item. After a few moments, Leith was finally out of the pit that had been dug around him, but the screaming had stopped. They might have been too late to help whoever was screaming. Dread filled Leith as he looked towards the smoke. That was where the screaming had come from, but it was not in the direction of the meadow. He decided to take Meirin's advice and turned to Summer.

”We need to go, now!" He said as he turned and sprinted in the direction of the smoke, keeping an eye out for any holes made by the Paich. Thankfully, there were none and he continued his sprint towards the smoke. He made it in time to see a man in full armour loading a crossbow and a Naga coiling her tail around the vampire girl he hadn't gotten a chance to introduce himself to and leaning in to bite her. The man had loaded his crossbow and was now aiming it at the girl. He looked at Summer and pointed at the Naga. He could deal with the man.

He picked up a nearby stone of the ground, and tested its weight in his left hand. It had some weight to it. He passed it to his right hand and threw it as hard as he could at the back of the man's helmeted head. Alright, I guess now would be a good to time to ask about these people. Anything I should know about who I'm facing? He mentally asked the ring that had warned him about these people as he attempted to hide the fact that he was out of breath from the run.

Darius Jura Catacombs

Darius watched as the insane man and his demon took out quite a few ridge hounds. The stupid part was how much this man put himself at risk to kill just a few ridge hounds. Sure enough, there were more ridge hounds on their way. He had stopped creating motes of air as it was starting to tire him out, however, he was not too tired that he couldn't take on a few ridge hounds. One ridge hound lunged at him, but Darius side-stepped it and chopped his sword into its neck, nearly decapitating it. He wrenched his sword out and turned around in time to be bowled over by another ridge hound. He lost his hold on his sword and dropped it.

The creature was snapping its jaws at Darius' face, but he held it off. He unsheathed his dagger and slammed the blade into abdomen of the ridge hound. It yelped and tried shying away from the dagger, but Darius used that to his advantage an pushed the hound off of him. He pulled the dagger out and stomped the hound's head in. The sound of crashing rock jarred Darius' attention away from the current fight. He could just make out dust rising from the corridor ahead. Whatever it was, it didn't seem to want to attack the group, so Darius put it out of mind and went back to killing ridge hounds.

It wasn't until the elf girl started yelling about killing the Naga that Darius looked back towards the corridor. The shouting had come from the direction of the crash, but the girl wasn't in that direction. She was next to him. Darius frowned, something was going on, and he wasn't sure if he was going to like it.
Leith Calder Lyn's Hunt

Leith frowned when the ground started moving beneath him. Then as quickly as it happened, he started sinking into the ground. He lowered his hands and tried to get his feet out of the ground, forgetting about sustaining the bubble around the Paich's head. Any attempt at getting out pulled him further down instead. He needed to figure out how to get out, and fast. There was a tree near him, but he wasn't sure if he could reach it. Stretching out, he was just out of reach of the tree, the tips of his gauntlet were just scraping the tree.

It took a lot of effort for Leith to not panic. He was starting sink deeper and deeper into the loose dirt. Taking a deep breath, he reached into his pocket and grabbed Seraphim Sword. As quick as he could, he transformed the sword. He switched it to his right hand and stabbed it at the tree. The sword stuck in horizontally, and after a few test pulls, it seemed solid enough to hold his weight. He attempted to pull himself out of the hole, but the sword started to shift, so he stopped and just hung on to the sword.

Then, several things happened at once. First, the ring spoke to him and said that the ones that were after Lyn were here. Then, a loud shrieking noise ripped through the forrest followed by rising smoke. They needed to end this quickly and get to Lyn. He looked toward the Paich that he had been using his magic on. Currently, it was on its back an trying to right itself. As he hung from the sword, he collected the moisture in the air to form a decent sized ball of water directly above the Paich. The ball elongated to form a cone with the point facing down. The cone started spinning rapidly, sending small trails of water off of it. Leith swung left hand downwards and sent the spinning cone down. He was hoping to impale the Paich, but he had just heard of using rapidly spinning water as a weapon and wasn't sure how successful it would be.
Leith Calder Lyn's Hunt

Leith followed behind Meirin and Summer, ready to redirect the rabbit as it made its way to the meadow. He stopped abruptly when he heard a voice whisper in his head. It told him that there were people coming for Lyn and Mar. He reached into his pocket to make sure he had Seraphim Sword with him. He felt relieved when he felt the trinket in his pocket. If something was about to happen, it was nice to have the sword. After testing the sword out a few times, he was now able to control the size it became when he enlarged it. Now it appeared to be a longsword when he did so.

The sound of Meirin yelling at Summer to look out made Leith flinch. He looked up and saw some kind of animal reaching out to claw at the back of Summer's foot. Luckily, the girl stepped out of the way of the creature and its claws. Another creature was walking away from the two dragging the rabbit. He figured that these creatures were going to be a problem. He walked towards Summer and Meirin, keeping an eye on both creatures.

"We need to deal with these quickly and get to Lyn. People are coming for her."

He held his arms out and clenched his hands into fists. Water was pulled from the air and formed bubbles around the heads of the creatures. He hoped to either force them to flee, or, if they didn't, distract them long enough to have either Summer or Meirin deal with them.

Darius Jura Catacombs

Darius looked at the group that had gathered as he made his way through the catacombs. He was not impressed. None of them looked like they were capable of fighting other than the one who set up the mission, or Ssarak. When they came upon the corpse of a Ridge Hound, Darius cursed under his breath. Where there was one, there were so many more. He drew his sword and got ready for the inevitable fight, angry at the fact that he was left alone with all of the ones that were not skilled in fighting.

When the ridge hounds started charging towards the group, Darius threw a blast of wind at the feet of the ones in the front, he then started exploding motes of air all around the ridge hounds in loud pops to disorient them. When one of the clawed at the pale girl and drew blood. He swung his sword at the ridge hound as it fought with the girl's demon, hoping to take it by surprise.
