Story SynopsisThe continent of Virnastia, a once peaceful land, is dominated by eight powerful kingdoms and one not-so-powerful kingdom. Burbof, Virnastia’s heart, is the smallest kingdom of all. It has no armies or stone walls, just some farms, cozy homes, and a little tower where the princess sleeps. Its more of a village, really. All was quiet and all was well until the kingdoms did as kingdoms do: they went to war. With Burbof in the center, the other kingdoms stomped, trampled, and walked all over the poor little kingdom. What are the poor Burboffians to do? Well, one day the king’s mysterious advisor (whom no one has ever heard of before) came up with a scheme to show the other kingdoms how tough little Burbof can be. They’d kidnap the princess. All the princesses, of all the kingdoms!
KingdomsTo Burbof, there are two kinds of kingdoms: the neighbor kingdoms and the distant kingdoms. The neighbor kingdoms are close by, trade with them is regular and their culture is familiar. The distant kingdoms are more mysterious, only the well traveled know of their ways. The following has been pruned from “A Brief Guide to Virnastia”, courtesy of the Burbof public library:
Name: Normal Kingdom | Ellorn, The Kingdom of Man
Princess: Rose the fair
Main Inhabitants: Humans, duh
Description: Ellorn lies on a field of plains, bordered on the north by forest. Due to its lack of natural defenses, a wall of stone is built around the city along with a moat. Most of Ellorn is comprised of farmland and typical shops you’d expect from a town. Nothing about Ellorn stands out in particular. In fact, Ellornians pride themselves in how normal their kingdom is. There is nothing strange or odd about it, Ellorn is the standard. It is what you picture when you think of a kingdom. Ellorn is one of the most well known and respected kingdoms, and one of the most populated.
Name: (un)Dead Kingdom | Nekronia, The Kingdom of Undeath
Princess: Sophie the shy
Main Inhabitants: Skeletons, Vampires, Lich, Banshee, Zombies
Description: Nekronia is placed in the center of the Black Desert, named so for its black sand. The extreme heat and lack of water makes it difficult for anyone to live there, but its no bother for the dead. Contrary to popular belief, Nekronia is rich with culture and a nice place to live (or unlive). Nekronia University is one of the most prestigious schools in all of Virnastia, all the top Necromancers, Necrodancers, Necrosingers, and Necrodoctors come from there. And despite the desert’s heat and civilians’ rotting flesh, there is no foul odor within the city. Zombies are actually very hygienic. Nekronia is also famous for its jello and gelatin desserts. As the saying goes, the best dessert comes from the desert.
Name: Warrior’s Kingdom | Niy-an, The Kingdom of Amazons
Princess: Lor-yan the tough
Main Inhabitants: Amazons, Orcs, Golems
Description: Niy-an proudly sits atop the Hiy-on mountains, watching over Virnastia’s west. Unlike the other kingdoms, the Warrior’s Kingdom does not have a capital city, or anything large enough to be considered a city. They are a nomadic and tribal culture, constantly moving across the mountains following the herds of Stone Goats and Rock Wargs. Niy-anians are born and bred to be warriors, and are widely considered to be some of the most skilled and savage in all of Virnastia. Niy-an isn’t the most economic kingdom, but it does produce the finest weapons, bikinis, and have the best tattoo artists. Rumor has it Niy-anians are all female. It is unclear how true that is, but we do know Niy-anians are big yuri fans.
Less is known about these kingdoms due to their distance. What is known is detailed below.
Name: Salty Kingdom | Sorrok, The Kingdom of the Sea
Princess: Vera the fun
Main Inhabitants: Mermaids, Mermen, Frogmen, Frogwomen, anything that lives in water
Description: Sorrok encompasses Virnastia’s large gulf and the few islands around it. People often visit Sorrok on spring break, which leads people to see it as a party kingdom. While tourism is a major part of Sorrakian economics, they are also the #1 exporter of coconuts.
Name: Lost Kingdom | Qellorn, The Kindom Forgotten
Princess: ???
Main Inhabitants: ???
Description: A mysterious kingdom, forgotten and lost to time. The only remnants of it are in the form of fairy tales and ancient scrolls.
Name: Fairy Kingdom | Zeylphie, The Kingdom of Dreams
Princess: ???
Main Inhabitants: Fairies, Elves, Dryad, Sirens
Description: Zeylphie is hidden away behind the Hiy-on mountains. Even those who climb over must brave the Forest of Dreams to find the kingdom. Not much is known about it, except that children can see it in their dreams.
Name: Clockwork Kingdom | B0TTNA, The Kingdom of Machines
Princess: ???
Main Inhabitants: Machines, Constructs, Replicants
Description: Rumor has it a group of genius and mad scientists and mages created life in the form of steel and clockwork. They have long since passed, but their creations still inhabit the city they created.
Name: Dragon Kingdom | Vorrund, The Kingdom of Fire
Princess: ???
Main Inhabitants: Dragons, Kobold, Lizardmen
Description: Vorrund lies at the foot of Mt. Verrond, the largest volcano in Vernastia. Vorrundian culture is largely mysterious due to its geographic isolation.

Main Inhabitants: ???
Description: There is an age old tale about the existence of the secret demon kingdom. It is widely thought of as a folktale, and therefore is not on any map.

Skills & Abilities Along with advising the king, she is quite knowledgeable about the continent of Virnastia and its inhabitants. Her combat skills are non-existent, yet she does not cower in the face of danger. She's also useful for moving the plot forward, and guiding all the players in this RP.
(optional) Inventory: She carries a magic tome that visualizes her thoughts and memories on paper, making it easier to sort thru all the knowledge in her head.
Description: Miri is a mysterious figure, as demonstrated by all the '(?)' in her CS. No one quite knows where she came from, or how she became the king's adviser. In fact, its as if she just showed up out of the blue and was suddenly given that job. There's something a bit odd about her, like she has ulterior motives, but no one can be sure. She's rather bossy and thinks highly of herself, as if she thinks herself superior. But people put up with her, because of her knowledge and importance as a plot device.
Notes from the GMThis is meant to be a fun, comedic, "silly" RP while still be adventurous and "epic". It is very much jrpg and anime inspired/influenced (think DragonQuest, ChronoTrigger, Tale of _____, Fire Emblem, etc.) While I do have plans and plots for the world, I very much encourage players to do their own side stories and add to the world. This RP is collaborative, so I hope everyone will build this world together.
