【 OCCUPATION 】Professor; Philosophy Major
【 PERSONALITY 】Calm | Apathetic | Helpful | Unpredictable | Amicable | Know-it-allAdrik may seem easygoing and nice enough, as well as carry somewhat of a charismatic charm to him, but in reality he simply just doesn't care about much of anything anymore, including his own well-being. He is far too calm, and can straight face harrowing situations without much issue, for the most part. His responses to extreme situations tend to be underwhelming as well. It is very hard to get a rise out of him unless you know exactly what to target; even under threat of violence he can keep his cool. It is incredibly easy to get along with him though, and he will be amicable to even the most negative people. He's been known to wax philosophy with others at seemingly random times. When at an impasse, he'll ask important questions that may help to solve the current problem, though that's often his first go-to solution to such problems. Funnily enough, people in the past have found him to be reliable and believe that he has all the answers due to this.

【 PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE 】Adrik had taken to jogging at night within the past year. He'd always been somewhat athletic, having worked out to keep in shape ever since his teens, but he'd been pushing himself more than usual with his nightly jogs. He didn't know what to expect from it; perhaps some part of him felt like there was the smallest chance he would find the driver who'd changed and ruined his life. Maybe he even thought he could prevent another accident from happening if he could just happen to be in the right place at the right time. Or maybe...he hoped someone would just hit him already.
Regardless of intent, it was during one of these nights that he experienced what he could only describe as supernatural. As usual, he kept to the sidewalk when jogging down streets, but some roads were more rural and the best he could do was stay to the side. At some point, a car came racing past him, nearly hitting him in the process. Shaken but now infuriated by the near-miss, he shouted at the driver and even futilely attempted to give chase. He saw the car go down one bumpy turn further down the road, but when he himself made it over there he found only a dead end that led into a forest, nowhere that a car could possibly traverse. Just as he was about to turn away though, headlights from beyond the trees flooded his vision, and the loud revving of an engine could be heard.
"Come on...
come on...just do it..."
The muttered words left his mouth before he could even realize he'd said it. A few seconds later, it seems the car obliged. He couldn't see how it managed to come at him, but before he knew it the car came flying at him at top speed. He raised his arms as he braced himself for impact...but nothing happened. Just as it seemed like the car was about to hit him, it vanished. No lights, no sounds, nothing. The only evidence that there had ever been a car were the tire tracks on the ground. It was at that moment that Adrik realized he'd been holding his breath, and he finally yet shakily let it out as he gasped for air. He had no idea what the hell just happened, but it wasn't like he could tell anyone. Who would ever believe something so outrageous? He just returned home and passed out in exhaustion, waking up nearly sixteen hours later in a cold sweat.
【 BIOGRAPHY 】A Russian man through and through, Adrik was born and raised there nearly all his life. He traveled outside of his hometown and even the country at times, but he always returned. Raised by two hard-working middle-class conservative parents, a strong work ethic was instilled in him ever since he was young, leading him to be a determined young man who took initiative and responsibility in his life. He met his first and only love in high school, Katalina Alexeev, who had aspirations of becoming a defense lawyer. When his then-girlfriend revealed that she was pregnant during their senior year he proposed to her on the spot, marrying later that year after their son, Adrian, was born. Between raising a child, being a supportive husband, trying to earn a decent living wage, and busting his ass through college, his life was tough and stressful for the first few years, but his strong will kept him going even when things were at their worst.
Life eased up on him once he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy. More and better-paying jobs opened up to him, and with there being less on his plate to deal with he was able to spend more time at home and relax a bit more, which also gave his wife more time to try to get through school and begin her own career. He worked various jobs, more so for the experience than for any problems or disputes in the workplace. He dreamed to be able to teach at a university some day, but at the moment, he was content.
Disaster struck however, an incident occurred with his son that he could never take back. Adrian came out to him as gay, and Adrik reacted in the absolute worst way possible. Angry, confused, and frustrated, he yelled at him and demeaned him and threatened to disown him. It wasn't his son's sexual orientation itself that upset him, but what it meant. It ruined any and all plans he'd had for his "perfect" family that he'd worked so hard to make and maintain, and he absolutely knew his son would get bullied and made miserable by everyone around him due to the culture he'd grown up in and the stigma associated with homosexuality. And even more than that...he felt it was his own fault. He'd had his own attractions towards men as well, but because he was also attracted to women he felt it was something he could repress in order to achieve the perfect life he wanted and had been raised to believe he needed to have. He felt not only anger, but guilt, believing it was something he'd somehow passed on to his son.
Ultimately, the arguments eventually ended with Adrian running away from home to find shelter with friends he'd also confided his secret to. It was then that Adrik made the decision that would always haunt him: he told his son to never talk to him or return home again. It was in the heat of the moment, and something Adrik regretted almost immediately, but the damage was done. He tried to reestablish contact with his son, but Adrian refused, which led to the tragedy that changed everything. It was raining one particularly dark night and he had no one who could give him a ride to a friend's place he needed to get to, and feeling like he couldn't ever face his parents again or even call them for help, he walked alone. Adrik received a call the next day: his son's body had been found, killed in a hit-and-run accident. This absolutely devastated him, knowing it was partially his fault that his son was now dead. His wife left him soon after as well; in her grief, she couldn't stand to be near him anymore, as Adrik reminded her too much of their son. He lost everything at once, causing him to spiral ever downwards from then on.
Two years have passed since the incident, and he now has the job he always wanted. He was offered a position as a professor at the university near Sonina, and despite initially rejecting the offer out of apathy he eventually agreed to accept the position after some coaxing by close family members he still kept in contact with. So far he's managed to adjust well enough, and his students generally seem to like him. Yet, he is just going through the motions of everyday life, with none of the people around him able to understand or even see his true mental state.
