Bio

Old and beaten hat, don't take anything I say to heart because it only rarely comes from my own. Been waving around this RP stick for 12+ years, and if there's one thing I've learned it's that keeping things interesting is top dog. I'll take a character who is interesting and challenging for both me and the plot over the same group of misfit archetypes any day of the week. Plots follow the same rules. Unless it breaks the mold somehow, I'm just not that into it. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu

Alright folks, I'm heading out to my next job site, which means that if the hotel internet is crap, you might not hear from me for a week or two until the job's done. So I'll leave Chloe in limbo for now, since that seems like convenient timing. Just wanted to drop a message to say that if my last sign in was two weeks ago, it doesn't mean I've left the guild or the RP. Cheers everybody, see you on the other side.

Edit: Hotel internet seems good enough to post at least, so I'll be around mostly uninterrupted. This being the case, Chloe's a free agent again. Depending if Kimiyosis gets a character up and started quickly, I may join up with them, but I'll probably make a filler post for now to get back into the swing of her, because I love writing her and I miss it :p
Haven't heard anything from Storm, unfortunately I blame myself for taking so long between posts. I dunno if they've dropped or not, but either way, I'm still kicking around. If I don't hear anything before somebody concludes their business, I'll poof Chloe somewhere relevant. I can RP with myself for a bit, I don't mind, but I don't want to just assume somebody dropped because it's been a while between their posts. That'd be sort of hypocritical of me. So I'll leave Chloe where she is for the moment, just letting everybody know I am still around even though I haven't posted.
That sucks, TK. Hope you can get everything sorted out and keep your stress levels down. Last thing you want is a fried brain.
Unfortunately short post, but since the battle's just opening up, most of my stuff is just reactionary.

PS I have reaffirmed that I am a dog person. Sick cats go home, you are a pain in the butt.
Reiko grimaced at their new foes. These demons looked much tougher than the ones that had come before. Whereas the others fell easily, and even a wounded Reiko could have taken them down, these ones were able to form armor around themselves. Mendou kusai... What a pain these creatures were becoming. Why had she agreed to come on this expedition? Whatever the reason, she was here now, for better or worse. Her flute would be useless here, while the ground was icy. The mist would be more of a hindrance than a help, unless she were by herself. But she was not prepared to throw her allies under the bus like that. And the time for letting the more warlike of her comrades do all the work was over. She reached into the folds of her dress, pulling out two small but sharp knives. Cracked ribs or no, she wouldn't be able to complain if she got eaten because she was unwilling to fight. Chou mendou desu...

Holding the knife in her right hand upright and the one in her left reverse-style, she dipped low into a crouch, springing backwards away from the rain of icicles. She used the ice to keep her momentum even longer until she hit a wall on the side of the battlefield, out of the way of any attacks that would happen until she could get her bearings. She knew her place in this battle. Whenever one of the monsters exposed their backs to her, that back would be needled by several quick stabs to what would, ideally, be vital organs. Until then, however, she needed to become a shadow...

Aura's response to the icicle barrage was slightly less subtle. With a huge spin, she use the flat of her sword to bat an empty box towards the closest of the Cannibal Masters, blocking the majority of the ice as she slipped into the gap she had created. The slippery floor made it difficult to keep her balance, so she dare not swing her sword again until she was done moving. Instead of a large attack, she held her sword up in front of her, ready to block an attack - if any were to come. She would be in a blind spot until the box she had thrown was reduced to splinters anyway. It was a good defensive posture.
Will post tomorrow. Got saddled with two sick cats that aren't even mine this week. Their owners are coming home monday morning, so I guess I'll say monday at latest, but I'll probably find time tomorrow.
That's aight. Take as much time as you've gotta take. I'll be around.
I was under the impression that Lucius was going to post a new phase or something? I thought I read that somewhere. If not, my mistake.

Either way, I'm still around, though I can't pretend to be as zesty as I was after a long absence. Still, I'll be more than happy to get back into it if somebody got the Defib unit out.
Posted. Kara's got ants in her pants.

Edit: Also, I was curious if I broke the profanity barrier for the first time in that post, so I was looking back over everything. Turns out I didn't. That barrier was broken in an earlier post. By me.

Cypher nodded to the two boys. Seemed like they were in agreement on this weird place. Recon and regroup. Together. Their team had made great strides through other obstacles and hardships, but they had historically done it together, as a team. They should do the same this time as well.

After receiving her orders, Cypher strode forth into the unknown. Apex was a gunner, there was no sense in him going first, and she was fast. Faster than BreGle at the very least, potentially the fastest on their team, which made her the most well-suited to take point when it came to scouting. She would have to trust her companions' eyes to watch from behind, but mostly she placed her faith in her own instincts. Keeping a firm grip on her blade, she pressed forward, keeping close to the houses and away from the middle of the streets.

This is a bit silly. The place is empty. What, am I supposed to be scared of getting hit by a car? But yet, and image flashed unwillingly in her mind. A lone sniper on top of that distant tower, waiting for someone to come into the open, watching their every move. Ugh, that's too creepy. Way too creepy and gross. Not to mention, too much like an american action flick. She was as guilty as anybody of indulging in movies like that, so she knew how unrealistic they could be. But it wasn't like she had any military experience herself. Maybe stuff like that really did happen?

As she peered in the houses and other buildings that lined the streets, another thought occurred to her. "Not so much like a movie as it is a game, isn't it?" The hollow feel of her surroundings reminded her of some piece of old abandonware. Something that was supposed to be filled with people, but instead just sat empty. Its software was still online, but even the creators didn't bother with its upkeep. Yeah, nothing's gonna make this place seem less creepy, is it? Still, now that thought was lodged in her head, she couldn't force it out. It made sense, they were obviously in the DgtWld still, their avatars and powers still worked. Were they really in some far-flung game server somewhere? It seemed unlikely, but at the same time, it was about as likely as any other explanation. Nobody else seemed to be coming up with anything more constructive.

Closer and closer the building drew with no sign of anything at all, and Cypher grew increasingly frustrated over time. The weight of boredom was heavy. But she was on a mission, and she needed to pay attention to her surroundings. Didn't seem like a great time to be casually chatting to her partners, either. Or at least, she didn't have anything interesting to say. Just mountains of complaints that were probably better left inside her head. It was counterproductive, and she knew it, but this empty expanse was making her fidgety. She was playing games with her feet, similar to only stepping on the white tiles on a tiled floor, and shifting her sword's weight around in her hands, just to feel something. They were small movements, but quickly becoming compulsive. Her attention was fading fast. She wanted to scream internally.

"PIECE OF SHIT!"

Ah shit, was that out loud? Was that, like, really really loud? Oh boy, I'm gonna hear about that one later. Or now. Probably now.
