Bio

Old and beaten hat, don't take anything I say to heart because it only rarely comes from my own. Been waving around this RP stick for 12+ years, and if there's one thing I've learned it's that keeping things interesting is top dog. I'll take a character who is interesting and challenging for both me and the plot over the same group of misfit archetypes any day of the week. Plots follow the same rules. Unless it breaks the mold somehow, I'm just not that into it. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu

For posterity and so I can close notepad, posting this here maybe a bit prematurely.

I'm a little confused about why people don't like her beyond the whole popularity/social ladder thing. If she's friendly and approachable, why do people not like her? While a social hierarchy is important in high school, it's not always the case. As part of the unpopular kids back in high school, it was always really fun to talk to people, even if I didn't know them very well. I suppose it would all depend on where Marie stands in the social hierarchy... But are there other reasons why people don't like her? Or is it literally just because of the popular/not popular kids thing? Because if it's the latter, it feels like a little bit of a stretch to me.

Basically I was pulling from my own high school experiences, where any potentially popular kids (which Marie would be, since she's friendly and approachable as well as sporty, active, and relatively attractive) who mingled with the nerds or the socially inept folks ended up catching just as much flak as those unpopular kids themselves. Like a "Why aren't you as elitist as we are" penalty. If you feel that's unreasonable, I don't mind changing it up a bit, because I don't really disagree with you either.

My intent was that she's generally popular in the school sense of the word, like she's part of the 'it' crowd, but she gets talked about a lot behind her back because she's not that smart, and she definitely doesn't act like somebody who's going to be a successful businessperson one day. She doesn't worry a lot about the social norms, clique boundaries, etc, and doesn't really even recognize that they exist. I figured that would make her an easy target for potential bullying, etc. She'd definitely be an easy mark, as somebody who wants to help people all the time, or somebody who steps on peoples' toes by accidentally forgetting their name or face.

Let me know if that cleared anything up. If you still feel it's a stretch, I don't mind shifting some things around, I'll just need a bit to think on how I want to approach it. I'ma start working on a relationship sheet now as well, so I should get that up in a couple hours or so.

Sorry, I'm really not big on face claim stuff. Never really got into it and I try not to look at people more than I strictly have to~

Apologies if I end up just being another blank CS in a sea of them. I sorta thought I'd be in the minority, personally, but I guess not this time.
Job hunting can lick my popsicle. That's all I'm sayin' about that. Also there's been a whole ocean falling on Vancouver this last week or two, so the rain can also shove it.

Guessing we've hit an impasse again? This is the simultaneously the single most cursed and also most resilient RP I've ever seen, and I've never been in an RP that came even close to concluding, so that's saying something. If you ask me, the whole site's been cursed since the reroll.

@Undine

Without really planning it or realizing, I may have actually made a character who will piss off half of the other characters in this RP. Oh well, nothing wrong with some drama in high school.

Interested. Be nice to get in something larger once in a while.
I's just chilling on the sidelines. Don't have too much important to do before stuff starts progressing.
Watching the spectacle brought mixed feelings, once he knew what to look for. Seeing old friends and rivals reunite brought back memories of his own kin, who had largely secluded themselves from the world (they were not all quite so social as he was, or so fond of humans.) It was nostalgic, and neither pleasant nor unpleasant. Beyond that, it confirmed his suspicions. Something was going to happen here, for better or worse.

For someone who spent many hundreds of years studying the Greek pantheon at their prime, it was clear to him what he was witnessing. It was Hermes who had been waiting for everyone here. A suitable position for a messenger, though there was probably something more to the fact that he had been here before anybody. Apollo had come, as one of the most revered deities at the time, he would have felt the pull quite strongly. He was also in a similar standing to Enki himself, so Edgar felt a small amount of solidarity towards him. How mortal life had changed him, however, Edgar did not know. It would simply remain to be seen. Off to the side was Aphrodite and Hekate, a rivalry that must be quite bitter. Still, they approached on friendly enough terms... women were truly a mystery.

Edgar could see traces of their power within them. Flashes, perceptions of their former glory, their divine forms. It made sense that this was a power spot for them, he had occasionally paid visit to some of his own power spots in the past, but it was too late for him now. Those spots held very little of his old prestige, and his mortality had brought new meaning to his life that was missing in the old days.

He had taken stock of the situation. Several deities, all Greek, had gathered here. None of his peers were to be seen, but that was natural. Which meant that his lot was to be thrown in with the younger folk. As the apparent leader, and perhaps the only person who knew what was going on, he made very deliberate eye contact with Hermes. Not wanting to interrupt his greetings with old friends, it was simply a way for Edgar to establish himself on the scene if he had not been noticed. He would join in when it was appropriate, it didn't need to be any sooner than that.
Got half a post in the oven, need to go out for halloween stuff but I'll polish it off when I get back. Hope everybody has at least a half decent day today (I have low standards)
Fair enough, boss. I'll get something out tomorrow for sure. Been busy with family stuff this week else I might have pushed harder to post sooner, but I'm going home tonight.
