Hey, can I have two powers that correspond with nature.
What powers are you thinking of?
Weather and plant manipulation. I've played both before, So I'm confident I can handle it.
[/quote]
Alright, make the cs and I'll see if its okay.
Don't worry, you don't sound rude. What I mean is, if someone figures out his weakness; which wouldn't take long if he doesn't take you out first, then there's ways to exploit it. Grabbing him and overpowering him still works, since grabbing someone doesn't require fast movements. You can then stab him repeatedly or whatnot, since you're basically negating his 'forcefield' by being wrapped around him. Similarly, fire can harm him since it has no physical force, and a variety of other things.
If someone fires a high-powered machine gun at him, the bullets will slam into him before falling to the ground, but each bullet comes with the force to pierce flesh and bone, and probably other materials, so each will carry significant Kinetic Force. He will then have his 'episodes', which is a major weakness in the middle of battle, unless he forcefully pushes out Kinetic Energy as soon as the first clip is finished.
Basically, he'll need to actively 'Kinetic-Charge-Blast' each bullet back as soon as it hits him if he doesn't want to implode on himself and die a horrible, painful, and bloody death.
Alright i'm convinced, you're accepted. Just make sure you guys remember to place the "Other" section. At the beginning of this post I realize I forgot it so I've changed it so the app now includes it.
Daniel was busy looking over a map of close by cities when a loud explosion boomed nearby. Scrambling to his nearby window he stared outwards, witnessing multiple explosions happening across the town he continued to search for Happy Harbor's heroes who used to be so active. A breaking news report pushed itself onto the airwaves. The reporter on scene was talking about multiple explosions from a gas station, and a group of robots bombarding a supermarket. Are the heroes of this Earth on vacation? How could they get so lazy? Daniel rushed to a hidden closet and pulled out his outfit, quickly putting it on he realized that the daylight wouldn't help hide him, but he couldn't stay within the shadows of this world forever. Eventually he had to come out, and that time was now.
Opening his window he quickly dived out in order to reduce the chance of him being spotted. This wasn't his Earth, but he still had an identity to protect. Pulling out his grappling hook he began to swing and jump off rooftops until he reached the nearby supermarket. It didn't take long for him to figure out the cause, a terrorist attack by a group of robots. Perhaps when he finds the regular heroes he would be able to gather more information, but for now he had to fight. He aimed his grapple at one of the robots and pulled himself up to it, moving at rapid speeds he aimed himself into a kick, colliding with the robot he swiftly left an small object on the robots head. The object itself looked like an owls claw and beeped rapidly until it exploded. Daniel extended his cape to slow his decent.
Name: Press Dalton
Alias: Conna'Cel (pronounced Con-na-cell)
Age: 17
Personality: Kind-hearted and friendly, but he's not exactly a social person. He prefers to spend his time playing video games, working on various gadgets and what-not in his room, or exercising. However, he's still willing to engage in social activities with other people, albeit akwardly. Still a good guy to have with you, though.
Powers:
Controlling electronic machinery to an extent. He can short circuit them, cause them to function erratically, force them to ignore other outside stimuli, etc. He's also extraordinarily handy when dealing with electronics, and has created himself a robotic suit of armor to allow him to fight on par with his teammates.
The suit itself contains a variety of gadgets and weapons. From his palms, he can fire white lasers, which can be fired as a single powerful shot that explodes when striking the target, or a continuous weaker beam that burns the target. On the back of his hand, he can create energy blades that can slice through solid steel. His helmet contains a targeting system that will aid his accuracy when firing his lasers. On his back, he can construct a pair of wings, which are mostly cosmetic but will allow him to fly. His legs and arms contain shock absorbers that can cushion the impact of a fall should his wings get damaged. His suit is also capable of repairing itself over time, kinda like how a human body would heal its own wounds. However, this ability is limited, and will need external assistance in order to achieve a complete repair. Should the energy levels in his suit get low, it can then drain energy sources (batteries, generators, etc) in order to recharge itself by simply coming into contact.
He has also created a bronze-colored robotic falcon named Horus. He is designed for surveillance, though, and isn't that good in a fight. Horus comes equipped with a cloaking feature, 360 degree field of view, and multiple lens filters that allow it to perform its duty. It is also capable of repairing itself over time. Its wings are also covered with solar panels to allow it to regain energy from the sun.
Weakness: He only has the durability of a normal human. Bullets, bombs, anything dangerous can injure him, assuming its powerful enough to get past his suit. He is also completely reliant on his armor and other machinery to be able to fight.
Appearance:
Bio:
Born into a pretty average family, Press lived a rather boring life as a child. Did well in school, made a few friends to hang out with, and other usual things. When he was 6, though, he discovered his talent for electronics and tinkered with them whenever he could. As he got older, he got better and better at assembling and disassembling things, as well as making his own modifications to these devices whenever he could. However, things started to change after hitting his 10th birthday. Press noticed that some things tended to act a little unusual when he was around. Machines with screens (TV's, computers, cell phones, etc) sometimes flickered with static regardless of whether or not they were on or off, cars and motorbikes sometimes refused to start or failed while in the middle of the road, and other odd events. People began to notice that these events happened only around Press, and they started thinking it was strange. Naturally, when people see something they don't understand, they fear it. Even his own parents feared him and quickly abandoned him.
Press was lucky, though, and put into an orphanage, but life was still tough. Other kids were tougher and strong than him. What could Press do? Figure out how to operate a VCR? Press knew that he had to grow up, and make sure people knew he wasn't a push over. A few years passed, and Press was actually able to make a decent living fixing broken gadgets and doing other little tasks. He had also discovered by that time that he had an extraordinary ability with electronics, and had learned to control it and harness it. His money accumulated, and Press began looking into certain things. He then acquired some raw materials and started his own personal project. A long period of time later, and Press finally created his robotic suit of armor.
Arc Ideas: Not much so far. Perhaps just a few minor skirmishes in the city caused by the mundanes (those without powers) to start off with. Robberies, kidnappings, etc. Buuuuuuut I'm sure you've already thought of this.
Same problem as Rin, but it's still my fault. I neglected to mention a few details in the opening OOC, my apologies, I'm still new to this so any idea or recommendation is helpful. With all of that out of the way, I accept your character.
How much of the DC universe do we have to know to be comfortable in this rp? Cuase really all I know is vague memories of "Justice league" tv show and The original Teen titans tv show.
Well as I introduce characters I will do my best to describe them to you, but just know who's in the justice league. The cartoon will give you a pretty good idea but the version I'm going with will not have hawkgirl.
TITANS FOREVER!
And now that that's out of the way, here's my character! Hope she's okay. ^^; Admittedly, backstory's a bit weak but oh well. Also, will probably try and write up a villain at some point too, but we'll see how that turns out.
Name: Nina O'Connell
Alias: Hotblood
Age: 14
Personality: As her chosen alias would suggest, Nina is rather boisterous and over-passionate. It is seemingly impossible for her to give less than 100% in any given activity, as she feels that if she's not giving something her all she may as well not be doing it in the first place. She has a strong sense of justice (and in fact is a very big fan of superheroes), and won't back down against evildoers no matter what the odds; in fact, her determination and unwillingness to give up is her greatest strength, as she can often turn things around and come out on top purely through sheer force of will. Other than that, she's generally pretty friendly, and willing to act like everyone's little sister; if she thinks you're being too mopey, she'll let you know and try to cheer you up in her own way. Notably, she insists on referring to everyone by codename whilst out in action, as in her mind it makes everything so much cooler.
Powers: Nina possesses the power to manipulate her own body heat to extreme temperatures, causing her to become superheated. This not only makes it difficult for most villains to approach her, but allows her to sheathe her hands and feet in flame. If she were to turn her powers up more than usual, everything within a certain radius from her would start to burst into flames, although due to the collatoral damage this causes and how dangerous it is for everyone around her she very rarely pushes her powers this far. Technically, her powers work both ways; she could instead lower her temperature and cause things around her to freeze instead, although she is currently unaware of this facet of her powers (possibly due to it clashing so much with her fiery personality). Naturally, she is immune to the negative effects of extreme temperatures, and due to both comic book physics and modesty her outfit does not combust into nothing whenever she activates her powers. In addition to her powers, Nina is moderately skilled in martial arts (albeit not to the level of many other heroes), possessing a yellow belt in kung fu.
Weakness: Aside from her immunity to the effects of extreme temperatures, Nina has no special defences. She's just as vulnerable to physical blows, blades and bullets as any other regular human.
Appearance: In costume! She's kind of short, and not all that developed. Out of costume she tends to wear cut-off denim shorts and t-shirts baring the names of various power metal bands.
Bio: Nina has always dreamed of being a hero. Ever since she was young, she's been a huge fan of the colourful costumed crusaders who protect the peace and safety of Earth, and has tried her best to live up to their standards. Even as a child she engaged in amateur heroics, like rescuing pets from trees and standing up to bullies at schools, but it wasn't until she was 13 that her heroic career could really get started. The moment she saw the fire, she knew she had to do something about it. She didn't care about her own safety, only that the people in the burning building were taken out of harms way, and so she heedlessly charged into the inferno. As she dragged the victims out, she began to notice that the intense heat surrounding her wasn't affecting her at all. She wasn't even sweating as she pulled them to safety. It didn't take long for her to realize that the heat of the flames had suddenly activated her latent metagene, and with that she came to a startling conclusion: she had superpowers! And that was awesome! It didn't take her long to design a costume and begin taking on bigger acts of injustice than before, and eventually her dedication to heroism coupled with her passionate and outspoken personality got her noticed by the Titans. It was practically a dream come true to be approached by them, and she didn't even need time to think about it before she blurted out her acceptance. Not only was she now a full-fledged superhero, she was a member of the Teen Titans!
Arc Ideas: I'll get back to you on this. ^^;
The only problem I have with your bio is the fact that you're mentioning the Teen Titans, this is mostly my fault so I don't blame you, but in our RP the TT doesn't exist yet, the only superheroes around are the Justice League and a select few of their sidekicks. So all in all, just adjust the Bio slightly, add the other, and you're accepted.
Before I continue, I just wanted your opinion on my character so far, GM. I think I balanced him fairly well, but if not, tell me and I'll change things around ASAP. Playing Halo right now, so I'm a bit distracted, and thusly the character might not meet expectations.
I'm slightly hesitant about your weakness, a slow moving knife? Who stabs slowly? I don't want to sound mean, but this is the question that popped into my head. As for his powers they seem slightly OP but I will trust you to regulate them. Although I am curious, what would happen to your guy if someone with a machine gun fired on him?
No supranym? That won't do at all! Nina will have to bounce as many off of Jason as possible, each more ridiculous than the last, until one sticks! :D
I'm not exactly sure what that means lol.
Hey, can I have two powers that correspond with nature.
Alright guys it's up, let me know if there are improvements you think I should make. After all this is a team effort, both in OOC and IC.
http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76982-titans-together/ooc
Welcome, this is a new Teen Titans roleplay. I realize there are many superpower role-plays out there, and you must be curious as to why you would join this one. Well certainly you clicked on this because the title struck your fancy right? Well hopefully you've come for the idea and you'll stay for the role play.
For this RP we will be playing in a world where the Justice League has vanished. Nobody knows where they've gone. Are they dead? Did they leave our planet to it's own devices? Perhaps you'll find out over the course of this roleplay, but for now decide who you are. As you create your characters Bio's you may reference the Justice League as a role model of some kind, maybe even a few of their companions such as Robin or Supergirl, of whom nobody may RP as.
In this universe only the Justice League and a select few of their sidekicks that you may know from cartoons and comics exist. But this universe is chock full of their usual villains gallery, Joker exists while Batwoman does not. Lex Luthor lives and terrorizes Metropolis while Krypto may have never left Krypton. More differences will be discovered as your characters interact with the world.
I would like for your first post to involve you in your civilian identities, you will have no contact with any other super being, unless of course you collaborate. This is for the best I feel, our characters need a good reason to stick by each other. If they just met up at a cafeteria and made a team that would be boring.
Rules
Refrain from any overpowered characters, we may be heroes but we're young and largely inexperienced.
This isn't a rule, but more of a request. I ask everyone who applies to make an OC character. It's not fun if 5 people are trying to be Robin or Raven.
Regular guild rules apply of course.
I, as the Gm, have the final say in all decisions. Though I don't expect any serious arguments to break out here.
I will allow romance should it appear, but keep anything above pg-13 in PM if you must go that far.
You are allowed to make a Hero or Villain, but I'd prefer this to stay even.
Please type more than three lines at least.
Put your CHARACTER APPLICATION in the OOC tab until I approve. When I do approve you have permission to put it in the CHARACTERS tab at your own convenience.
To show you've read the rules type "Titans Forever" in the other section of the application
Keep in mind that I may change this at any time.
Should you choose to make a villain I trust that you would hint at it in his/her/it's personality and including why they became a villain in the Bio section.
Your Application
Name:(Civilian Identity) Alias:(Your superhero/villain/code name) Age:(Preferably 12-19) Personality: Powers:(Nothing to overpowered like "Invincibility" and "Rapid Teleportation") Weakness:(Preferably something that balances your powers off, make this something that can be used in a fight. Nothing stupid like bananas) Appearance:( You can choose to make two separate appearances, one for civilian identities and one for your super hero/villain.) Bio: Arc Ideas:(This is to help me out in case I run dry on ideas.) Other:
(Side note: You do not have to start your character in Jump City, but it is recommended you have some flexibility with your characters as we may do some traveling.)
Important Information
Known Superheroes:
The Justice League: Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow. Sidekicks/Companions: Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Supergirl, Steel, Speedy, and Kid Flash.
Notable Events: February 23, 2020: Odd light phenomenon above the Earth. February 25, 2020: LexCorp launches high speed internet satellite. Crime rates rise in multiple cities.
The ship itself is to organic in shape to properly measure at this time. But with visual comparison you can see it is easily bigger than the usual building, however it is easily as big as a large hotel or resort.
These double as attack craft and transport vehicles.
Easily 6'11, stronger than any human.
From what some of you can currently see, this man is holding a golden trident. Although not shown. The trident itself is as tall as him, standing at an amazing 7'12, the weapon also seems to irradiate a magical aura for those with the senses to feel it.
If anyone has a suggestion to improve this RP don't waste time just say it or PM me, no hard feelings will be had.
