Marc smirked, unable to keep himself from thinking of the combat advantages of such a power. Then looked at Avery, she was obviously nervous and relieved to have someone she could tell that to, but he wasn't sure what to say. Then, it hit him. He chuckled, totally realizing that she was like him. He's never really been bothered by it, but he always was curious.
"Well, now we're not alone, are we? It sounds as if we both have control over parts of our minds normal humans don't. You seem to be able to control your horomones as far as changes in strength and speed goes. As for your 'shield' I'd like to get a look at that on one of the brain scanners the university has to offer, see if I can detect where the shield is coming from. If that's alright of course. Anyway, is that why you always seem to be so nervous? I've always been lucky enough to have a power that just makes me a natural at all things martial arts, it hasn't really affected my daily life per say. I can't imagine how unnerving it's got to be to for a power like that to get out of control and into public knowledge. Can you control them?"
The flood of statements as questions came as Marc's curiosity and fascination grew. There had to be more than just them, he realized. Perhaps people's brains were evolving, unlocking hidden potential in order to move forward.
That would be fascinating, he thought.
