Thanks man, the RP idea is genius btw.
I was thinking that he might possibly have kept the mirror, believing that it might be a way of getting revenge. The same deity that tormented him as a child could then come back and make him a deal: the lives of one of the good parties (perhaps that of Alex and Elsa) for the lives of his parents.

Basically, the deity gives him the location, he goes and gets his butt kicked by a superior breed of warriors. They then interrogate him, accidentally reveal their mission (stopping genocide). His fire for revenge overcomes his need for his parents... and after much dialogue and debate, he joins the quest.
I'm open to any other ideas, this is just a suggestion.

Bio: Once a human. Born in Sussex, he maintained a quiet country life with his parents until he discovered a shattered fragment of a mirror. One deity promised him limitless power in exchange for something great. It was not until it was too late that he discovered that the cost was the lives of those around him. He now wanders the darker corners of the Earth, attempting to save the race from the genocide that could begin.

Skills/Good attributes: Strong, fast, dexterous. Streetwise and able to intimidate people easily.

Skills/Bad attributes: Unable to perform any academic applications (he couldn't exactly go to school looking like that). Finds it difficult to fight deities (due to his original servanthood).

Personality: Prefers to be alone. Quite sharp and vicious, does not like to be disturbed. Despises all deities because of his past. Never discusses past.

Ability (Certain abilities allowed...): Taller, faster and stronger than a human (5-10%). Can make his skin glow.

Other: Prefers melee weapons. Most adept with a sword and shield.

I understand where you are coming from, despite being of the "new generation". What you don't realise is that only the minority of the populace have access to popular expression such as the media. As such, the "new generation" that you have encountered makes up roughly 4% of the populace and is composed entirely of half-stoned uni-students. If you look around, you will begin to see younger people not much different from yourself: decently behaved, able to prioritise, etc. If you look even further, you will see the resurgence of the 1920's "well-rounded man". This is important to note: as the new man is somewhat improved from previous models in that he is not sexist or racist. He believes that all races, classes and genders are equal and face similar problems. This has led to youth taking a more civilised approach to life. Teenagers today are more likely to discuss metaphysics and politics than they are violent destruction and nihilism.

Skills: = Chemistry/Medicines
Inventory: Basic Chem set (scalpel, teaspoon, beaker, matches), Turpentine, Gas mask
Biography: 2nd year Biochemistry Student, before the "incident". His barricaded home was over-run by bandits, forcing him to escape without most of his equipment. He sought out the Smugglers as a source of protection, due to his lack of ability with a weapon. His main contribution to the Smugglers is that he can manufacture [very basic] medicines and illicit drugs
Other: Unable to use most weapons and relies on chemicals to get the job done. Is not able to perform first-aid but can produce some medicines and bio-hazards. Smoke and mirror reactions are also a specialty of his.

Most excellent greetings to thee all and I bid thee the finest eve/morrow (depending on timezone) that ye could have.

I'm "KurtyKool" and I have not had an opportunity to specifically role-play to any great lengths but it is something that highly interests me. As my supposedly "absurd" introduction suggests, I feel most at home in the medieval/fantasy setting; any present-day/future tech. role-playing usually ends up with me breaking character. I generally prefer silent characters as a point of difference from my usual self, as well as characters that utilize stealth, range and intelligence to work combat to their advantage. My style of gameplay usually follows high risk/high reward system and I prefer problem solving and deeper thought to combat.

Outside of role-playing, I am quite outspoken and have a tendency to over-utilize sarcasm. I have keen interests in Physics/Mathematics and especially the way that they can open up Christian ideals. I am from a nation currently using UK English and am critical of my own spelling (sort of). I must also admit that I am rather arrogant and obnoxious, but I play guitar... I'm hoping that the two can balance out.

Anyway, I'm hoping that I can get along quite well with you all and have a great time in some great role-plays (Oxford says it's a word).
