So I plan on getting a starter up with Obscene Symphony at some point soon, where there will be room for all characters to respond to - Part of it will be a discussion between the Spirits and then the other part will be a description of the town, and how empty it is. The students will have chance to respond to this by waking and reacting to the silence in the dead of the night, or even panic because other family members will be gone.

The goal will be to try find someone, anyone they know. For each character, this may differ, but at some point they are going to have to meet up. Perhaps they live near another character, for example: "Student A woke up in the dead of the night, and saw how silent it was. The clocks had stopped moving and confused, he shrugged it off. But still a feeling of unease sets in - Normally he could hear his dad snoring at this time. Peeking into his parents bedroom, he gasped at the sight - No parents. This was another of those bad dreams, right? Panicking, Student A quickly runs outside and looks around frantically before making his way to the neighbor's house across the street."

At which point, any other student can then see Student A outside in the street from their own window if they could wish to live close by to Student A, where as another student could be a few streets down so he has to desperately find the others. Just as an example.

Anyway, hopefully the starter should go up tonight or tomorrow hopefully.
Which would mean you are GMT-4 as it is like 12ish over here right now.

And I'm sure it wont be too problematic ^^
Sounds like a good plan. No double posting and wait until at least two others have posted before going again. Only person who is the exception to this rule is Snaketicus who might need to have one or two posts one after the other since he has a character limit and therefore might need an extra post. But the same rule would apply - If two people post after him, then he can write again.
Ah right, Snaketicus just reminded me. We all have different timezones I'm sure. Just so we have an idea, please give us a general idea of when you can post.

As for me, I live in the UK. I'm on Greenwich Mean Time. And I have work on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

I cannot post in IC during work time, but I can talk in OOC and PM if you have any questions.

My Work Schedule is: Monday 9:30AM - 5:00PM, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 8:45AM - 4:15PM. I can post before I leave to get the bus, and when I return. If you need me to ask a question or anything, I am usually available anyway as I'm constantly checking my phone whilst at work.
OOC is now posted. Come chat here!

Anyone who has yet to post a CS can post it here or in PM. I'll be keeping an eye out
Precious time is wasted as we rest alongside our own subconscious, dreaming away and only to wake and barely remember any of the world of our own creation.

But what if it wasn't?

Our hopes and fears are what makes dreams seem so intense, and yet they are surreal, to a point that if it didn't come from our own thoughts, we would all become unstable and lose our sanity. Humans are simple creatures, who take comfort in their own knowledge. That is why I am here...

As the Sandman, I regulate your sleep, so that you may rest with ease.
In the present year, five students who hardly interact all share a common ailment; They are affected by a lack of sleep for their own personal reasons. After the last class of a brutal week, each of them are ready to welcome the weekend. But not without facing the one and only hurdle stopping them from reaching Saturday: Sleeping. How they try to sleep does not matter. For eventually, they'll notice how eerily quiet it has gotten. A step out into the street shows cars parked in the middle of the street, with their drivers absent, and almost everything seems abandoned - The only light in this ghost town emits from the flickering orange street lamps.

Now it's become an effort for these five to find what has become of their little town. In the desperate search to find someone, anyone, these students will have to defend themselves from unknown horrors, find each other and face the cause of their insomnia.
And that's my interest check! For this Roleplay, I'll need at least five others to control the students (As I will be playing the Sandman). However, once these spots are full, the RP will be closed.

Rules

1. I want this to be a fun roleplay, so anyone who isn't following the rules will get two warnings before they are removed from the roleplay.
2. Please try to treat everyone with the same respect you would desire. Listen to each other's ideas so we can unfold the plot together. No one likes a control freak, but no one likes a layabout who doesn't contribute.
3. Romance between characters is accepted, but please do not make it all about the lovey dovey stuff, try to remember this is a group RP. Everything in moderation. Also, don't force the other person into the relationship with your character - Ask before doing so.
4. No God-Modding. I know this is obvious, but don't try to instant one hit everything. And on the subject, no killing each other.
5. Make your character interesting. I will not accept any character sheets that look half-assed. On that note, please make don't make any Mary Sues or Gary Stus. I will reject CS that I see are Mary Sues/Gary Stus as well as Half-Assed CS.
6. Write enough for someone to respond to. A well written paragraph or two with enough detail for us to respond to IC is better than nothing. Make an effort to write as much as you can manage. And try to include everyone. This links back to the romance post, but try to focus on everyone if everyone is the same spot. Do not always make it about yourself and one other person, just as a common courtesy so we're all involved.
7. If you are inactive, please let me and the other players know. We won't bite. Even I will be inactive at time due to Work Experience.
8. Have fun!

The Day Dreamer: Simon Pagliaro controlled by TalijaKey
Status: Alive

The Imaginative One, who when he/she finally does get to sleep, is able to remember what happens within his/her dream quite vividly.

The Haunted Mind: Open

The Paranoid Outcast: Atlas Hargrave controlled by Renny.
Status: Leaving the RP - Atlas will be removed sometime during the RP. Feel free to use character just for now.

Socially awkward, this Insomniac's paranoid attitude to life has sinked into his/her subconscious, causing his/her terror to spawn horrifying creatures into his/her dreams.

The Rebellious Heart: Kai Grant controlled by Gareth
Status: Alive

The Wild One, The Rebel's fears of being in a caged prison all his/her life are brought to life at night within his/her mind.

Creatures

The Spirit of the Night: "Jackson" controlled by Snaketicus

A foul creature of the night taken from the darkest depths of the spirit realm, he/she is truly terrifying, even to most beings of the Spirit Realm. He/She serves the Sandman for unknown reasons.

The Ethereal Phantom: Mytchell controlled by Obscene Symphony
Status: Alive

The Phantom's job is but one - To stay by the side of the Sandman, no matter what. He/She may have concerns about Sandman's actions, but will voice his/her concerns if he is liable to be hurt.

The Backstabbing Beast: Controlled by Major Ursa
Status: Alive

A traitorous fool, the Beast was cast aside from his/her home many eons ago and eventually, his/her rotting body failed on him/her, allowing him/her to ascend to Spirit Form. The Sandman took him/her in regardless of his/her past, and now he/she lives in the home of the spirit who saved him/her from eternal wandering. His/Her motives are unknown, as of now.

The Sweet Shape-Shifter: Kit / Ayame Tamamao controlled by Guardian Angel Haruki
Status: Alive

Unusually hyperactive, but dutiful, this spirit is able to imitate most life from both realms, excluding other spirits and humans. He/She often does not think on the consequence of his/her actions.

The Enforcer: Arguis controlled by LokiLeo789
Status: Alive

Rules are made to be broken - And if anyone breaks a rule, The Enforcer is likely to resort to breaking you. He/She is honorable, but can be a little reckless and slow at times. Nevertheless, they are loyal to the creatures of the Spirit Realm.

The Sandman: Controlled by Kyrianei
Status: Alive

GM: Kyrianei
CO-GM: Obscene Symphony

If you have to be inactive for a while, please let us all know in OOC, but if something pops up out of the blue, I can understand and relate to it. If you have any questions about this RP, please contact me through PM or ask Obscene Symphony if I am unavailable. We both don't bite. That being said, we aren't going to take any nonsense or rule-breakers. If you have a problem with another player, then please contact us. We can sort it out like adults~

Lastly, have fun!
Hmm...I guess I hate people who ask them to PM you about an RP scenario but don't get back. Recently I've had two RPs just drop dead and a few that I cancelled and there's no news. Nothing. And I'm just there like "Sooooo what now?". But for the most part, I understand and accept it for the most part.

However, being a good GM is hard. It takes a lot of work to keep things going, and just recently with my interest check pretty much skyrocketing people wanting to join, I've decided to take a Co-GM on board to help. This is my first time with being a GM for a Roleplay and I'm hoping I'm doing okay (We're almost at the RP stage). However, I don't think I could ever do what your saying.

Think about this. Let's take your scenario with team mates. We'll say what you did, Guy A does his thing and does well. It becomes Guy B's turn but as he finishes, they notice that Guy A is unable to carry on playing. Guy A needs serious medical attention, and regardless of their hobby, Guy B and Guy C should be waiting and supporting Guy A instead of bitching about how they can't carry on with their hobby.

Do you do this in real life? I have a real close friend whose very dear to me. She's stuck currently with a lot of mental health issues, which is coupled with her best friend in real life dying. On top of that, college is tiresome for her and weighing her down. And do you really think the thing she wants to hear from me is "Oh, so do you think you know when we're going to start up our Roleplays again?"

The answer is no.

Honestly, I love roleplaying with her. I get so antsy and excited that she was the only person I'd trust with my roleplaying ideas. And that all stopped about three or four months ago. I was panicky because I didn't want to lose her as an RP Partner, but I shaped up. She didn't need me badgering her for a date to get better. She needed my support so that she could get better and then we could continue. Heck, she's still not ready - College work is still pretty tiresome for her even now. I don't think we'll even get to carry on our roleplay till her Christmas break.

It's not unprofessional to not respond or reply about being inactive, so long as that person comes back to you at some point to explain what happened. Don't just immediately dismiss them as rude and dispassionate about their hobby because they lack the "professionalism" to have someone post for them. I know I don't open up to my family about roleplaying and I wouldn't want them going on my account to tell everyone I was unwell. Hell, I'd want my family by my side trying to get me better than having them post about how I was unfit to write for a while.

And honestly, whether you know or don't know - You still need to overcome the obstacle of losing the important person from the roleplay for a while. Knowing the reasons why they are gone does not give you the magical "I-can-ignore-the-problem" card, you'll still need to keep it going regardless.

Anyway, just throwing my two cents into this discussion. Roleplay is for fun, not a job and we shouldn't have to phone in and take our "sick days" as it were.

EDIT: And just as an added bonus, if people get pissy when you yourself tell them you are unwell and want to take a few days off? Those are the kinds of people you should just walk away from. They aren't worth roleplaying if they won't support that you have a real life and real problems to attend to.
Well the gender ratio annoyed me at first, I was like "So many male characters" even though I expected more females but I think if you have an idea of the character you want to play then do it :3
Major Ursa said
Lol, indeed! Well, I'll just see wherever my creativity leads me!You know what? If you want to choose a female character, I'll proceed with my plans for a male character...

Well you make the character you want. The character you want to play as. If you wanna play male, be male. If you wanna be female, be female!
I agree also. This has been up for a long while and we've all been waiting quite a bit of time. I believe it is time to begin~
