Setting: Whitehaven

Whitehaven is a port kingdom that flourished in mid 16th century ruled by King Thomas Havensworth. Their prosperity is based on exporting goods all over the world. The products exported were mainly food, fabrics and goods from neighboring kingdoms. By the end of the 16th century Whitehaven was the leading exporter in the whole northern hemisphere. It also became a bustling trading port with as many as a hundred ships docking in a single day. While there had been plenty of rumors that Whitehaven was involved in slave trade, it was never substantiated.

Setting
I'd rather not set a specific setting like New York or something. Setting the roleplay in a specific place sorta limits what we can do with the place our characters are in. Personally, if I set it to New York in the 1800's I'd be too lazy to look up New York at that time period but then I'd have to look it up to make it accurate and it'll take a while and then I find myself procrastinating. >_< So yeah, this is the fantasy part... Maybe base it on a specific place/country and then just play around with the whole thing.

Alrighty...so on to the PLOT!

This will be about two people finding each other and falling in love. Obviously, these two are soulmates. The twist is that they find themselves drawn to each other but for some reason, can't end up together. The roleplay will span several lifetimes... Maybe 4-5, depends on how the whole thing goes.

Some key points...

• Main characters will be the same through out all the lifetimes but we will make new profiles for them for each lifetime. Everything changes except of course, their faces. ^_^
• There will be other recurring characters throughout the lifetimes. Feel free to create one if you want.
• Feel free to use pictures in the post. (Just because they're fun to add... no other reason for it. )
• I can't think of anything else so I'll add into this once I do.

Soulmate

A person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet. A connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before. As this connection develops over time, you experience a love so deep, strong and complex that you begin to doubt that you have ever truly loved anyone prior.

We all follow roads to our destiny, the crossroads leading us to choices that eventually shape our lives and the lives of the people around us. Along this road, we find people whose souls resonates so strongly with our own that we cannot go forward without them by our side. A soulmate. The other half of ourselves.

But Fate is unpredictable. They control the thread that weaves the tapestries of our lives. Some find their lives colorful. Some find it dull. Others find their tapestries lengthy, spun out and seemingly endless. While some find theirs cut too short. Fate can be kind, witty and tranquil. But it can also be cruel, merciless and uncertain.

If Fate turns its eyes on you and you feel that you have no control over the life that you own, would you rage against it? Would you struggle under its power? Would you succeed in taking control of your own thread in the tapestry? Or would you let Fate dictate you destiny? Would you sit idly and let life unfold by itself in front of you, the choices left only to chance?

What if Fate gets in the way of finding your happiness? What if Fate gets in the way of Soulmates?

Kassidy peered at Audrey's foot the same time Zoey did. She blinked, trying to make sense of what was happening. How is it possible that my hand just magically healed when it was just bleeding a few minutes ago?. She looked at her now unmarked hand, running her fingers on where the cut had been only a few minutes ago. And then her eyes shifted to Audrey's hand. How was it that she has the same exact injury as I did? A little smaller but I'm sure it's the same location and same shape and--- was it because I bumped into her? Is this my fault? Did I somehow pass it onto her? Her heart began thudding loudly in her chest, fear and uncertainty crashing through her. Her mind shifted back to the strange lights that lit up the sky. Audrey was outside when the lights reappeared. Did she expose herself to something that caused her to sponge off peoples' injuries? She tried to put things together. But it didn't make sense. How could some lights in the sky do that to someone?

She thought back to how she had been so clumsy the whole night. It all started when the lights appeared too. What if...? She thought about the splintered table and the broken glasses and then shook her head. She almost laughed. It was stupid to think that the lights somehow made her clumsy. They were only light, after all.

Or are they?

Crator Island.

Aquilan was not a greedy man and he knew the importance of keeping the precarious alliance for now. He ignored the Drow's threat and crossed the small distance between himself and her small supply boat. The first gulp of water soothed his dry throat. He took one more as his eyes strayed towards the cliff. The cliff was almost beautiful to look at had it not been for that daunting feeling of being trapped. He slowly put the water barrel back down, his mind trying to make sense of the situation he suddenly found himself the moment he woke up.

Perhaps being trapped in this god forsaken place isn't such a bad thing. I have nothing to look forward to back in Elswin and nothing to go home to, he found himself thinking grimly.

And what of your plans to seek out the Church's assistance with this predicament forced upon us? came the proud voice in his head.

Quil almost laughed out loud. It was ironic, this concept of him being able to make it back to Elswin alive. Hadn't he heard about the dangers the island holds when he was still a child? No one ever made it back once they stepped foot on Crator Island. It was common knowledge. "Well, Lady, I have no great confidence in my chances of survival in an unknown terrain like this one. Even you thought that death would have served me better than finding myself stuck here," he responded.

There was a long pause that Quil assumed to mean that the phoenix was weighing her options. To have Quil die may mean her death too. Their souls have been so intertwined with each other that the elf's death may be her death as well. If she wanted to be free from this mortal trap, she would have to cooperate with the elf so that he may seek other ways of separating them.

I shall lend you my power, came the phoenix's steady and sure voice.

Quil sighed. "I suppose I should thank you for it. But lending me your power would not ensure our survival. But, I thank you all the same," he said as he stepped out of the small boat and headed towards the only inhabitable looking ship wreck on the beach.
