Abilities
Reality Warping - Illusion Based: Jin is able to make illusions appear as reality for a short span of time (~10 minutes). At the moment, his power encompasses only one target but may affect people in close contact with said target. Illusions may vary depending of Jin's state of mind. A calm state of mind creates a lulling illusion often making the target relax. A disturbed state of mind creates a horrific illusion often terrorizing, intimidating or shocking the target. Those in contact with the target sees only a fraction of the illusions but enough to mildly disorient them.
Limitations
Jin runs the risk of losing himself in his own illusions the longer and the more frequently he uses his powers. Ironically, Jin's illusions affect him the opposite of how it affects his target. A calm illusion creates havoc in Jin's mind, wavering his concentration and making him unable to sustain the illusion. A disturbed illusion strangely calms his mind, effectively cutting his intended effect short.
Equipment
Black ornate metal mask
A steel sword passed down in his family and the very same that he used on his mother.
Personality
Jin is a quiet individual who prefers to observe those around him. Any opinion he may have of the people around him he keeps to himself. His thoughts are almost never voiced out unless he is asked. But even when asked, he doesn't always answer and often needs to be given a good enough reason why his thoughts would matter. When he does speak, he is honest and straight to the point. Even though he gives off an aura of a loner, he is pleasant enough when dealing with other people but would choose to be alone in any given day. He has little regard of how others see him. And because he stays out of people's business, he expects others not to poke their noses in his business too.
However, due to the nature of his powers, he is often sought out whenever someone needs to be placated or relaxed. He hates doing it and often avoid it because it makes his own mind chaotic. But he has yet to say no to such a request.

History
Jin was born the only child of Byeong Ho and Chae Won in South Korea. At the age of five, the small family of three moved to Los Angeles, California due to Byeong Ho being appointed as the Korean Ambassador to the United States. Everything went smoothly and their family flourished in the foreign land. But when Jin turned 12, his parents' relationship turned sour and they began constantly arguing with each other, often resulting in his father's frequent absence in their home. His parents quickly became almost like strangers to each other. But despite the coldness in the relationship between the two adults, his father fought to keep their family together. However, it was of no use. No matter how much effort his father put in, he eventually gave up and agreed to move out of the house when Jin was 14. The boy resented his father for leaving and he stayed with his mother, refusing to see his father every time he came to visit.
At the age of 16, Jin began manifesting his abilities. It started small: Being able to change the color of an apple from red to blue, making a small patch of grass appear to be a small puddle. The simple illusions lasted only a fraction of a minute but there was no denying his ability. His mother attributed it to her strangely creative mind when she had been pregnant with him and she warned him not to show his abilities to anyone but her. She was supportive and because of it, Jin decided to try and develop his skills. Eventually he was able to hold and maintain his illusion longer than a minute. His mother was amazed. Assuming her reaction to be good, it gave Jin that extra push to hone his skills a little bit more.
One day, Jin came home from school and accidentally overheard his mother speaking on the phone with a friend. He hid himself and listened in. She talked about a secret lover and how her illicit relationship brought her marriage to an end. She also spoke of how her son's abilities scared her. And how she hated when he showed her what he can do. And finally, to Jin's horror, she spoke of how she wanted to get rid of her only son.
Fueled by fear, anger and the beginnings of hatred, Jin's illusions fanned out from him plunging both him and his mother into a horrifying landscape. The house was no longer there. Fire rained everywhere and a river of blood flowed all around them. The illusion should have faded with his current level of ability. But the pain of betrayal and the fear of death made it last longer than it should. He began to feel calm despite the horrific scene. His mother screamed. Being in the illusion too long confused Jin's mind. And her mother's screams became twisted. Her form twisted into that of a demon. With a loud cry, he grabbed the heirloom sword that was on the wall by his side and launched himself at his mother. He impaled her with the sword. The demon--his mother--clawed at him. He was able to close his eyes and turn his head but not before her nails carved a long wound that ran from his forehead, through his left lid and down to his cheek.
As his mother fell to ground, the illusion was broken. And the young Jin stared at the blood drenched sword in his hands. It was that exact moment when his father walked into the house. He looked at his son, at the sword he had in his hand then finally at his estranged wife, who was then dead and lying in a pool of her blood. Byeong Ho immediately acted. He took the sword and called an ambulance.
Everything happened to fast. The ambulance came. The medics took the lifeless body of his mother away. A day after, there was a funeral and then the cremation. Somehow his father took care of everything. There were no police, no questions. No accusing fingers. Jin changed that day. He withdrew to himself and spoke only when spoken to. He suppressed the memory of his mother until he can no longer remember what happened the day she died. His father never brought it up, never blamed him, never accused him. A whole three years passed before Jin finally told him about his abilities, the man had been surprisingly understanding and had been willing to help his son figure it out. They talked about several options, one was to go to Powerbound Academy to learn how to control his ability. But before they could decide on the best possible course of action, his father succumbed to a heart attack.
Left with no family and nowhere else to go, he went to Powerbound Academy in the hopes of learning how to control his powers.
