Magic/Abilities:- Illusion Magic: Derived from her own ghost nature, Vanessa can conjure fairly realistic images with her mind. They're only visual illusions, though.
- Intangibility: She can control her tangibility at will.
- Levitation: She can levitate at will.
- Limited Telepathy: She can converse with someone else in a short range with her mind, and read thoughts specifically directed at her (for example: someone replying).
- Posession: Phantoms can enter the body of another person and possess them. However, due to Vanessa's lack of experience in this matter and personal views, she can possess them if willingly allowed to.
Equipment:- Ethereal Cane: A cane that is able to shift from tangible to intangible alongside herself. Fairly resistant.
Personality: Cheerful, dramatic and always full of energy, Vanessa strives to be the target of all gazes. She always speaks with flair and grandeur in an unflappable fashion, as if she was in a stage play. On one-on-one, however, she's more moderate and handles herself in a refined fashion. She likes mystery and romance (both kinds of romance), and dislikes battles and savagery.
Background: A young woman, born into a noble family that ruled over a small village. She had a deep fascination for books, and had learned to play the violin under private tutors. It was very nice... until the whole village was raided and pillaged by bandits. As good as her life was, the state of the place her parents ruled over was denigrable, and they had to resort to stealing from neighbouring settlements to survive. This invoked the wrath of a local bandit leader that proceeded to lay waste to teach them a lesson they'd never forget. This was merely the tale of just another village within the reach of Varjo, neglected in favour of military specialization. The bandits took the destroyed houses as their new hideout, and they were quickly wiped off the face of the earth by a highly efficient strike from the martial powerhouse.
The years passed by, the ruins of her former home slowly being taken over by nature, and she woke up again. However, she wasn't alive anymore. Or maybe she was, but not really. The undeath status Vanessa found herself in was rather peculiar. It took her some time, but she managed to gather herself and make peace with this new reality. The reason of why she was now a monster girl and a phantom escaped her, but that wasn't important. In fact, anchored by a small stone, there was an envelope she had failed to notice, a letter from a man named Bartholomew Barker adressing his father. And, well, Sir Blackbourne seemed to be rather preoccupied at the moment, so Vanessa ventured to this place herself, taking upon the visage of the mysterious ladies of the books she liked in her life.
Other: Arachnes are pretty nice.
