Bio

Hello~ My screen name is LadyTale, but you can call me Tale. You can also call me Chaos, if you wish. There's a bit of a story behind that nickname, but it's not one I'm likely to share. It would take too long, anyway.

I'll participate in many genres of RPs, but there are a few I avoid. Some of my favorite genres are fantasy and action/adventure, although I also like sci-fi and romance, up to a point.

I read a lot of fanfiction. An almost ridiculous amount of fanfiction, actually. If there are any fandom RPs out there for the fandoms I'm interested in, I'll most likely join.

In conclusion, I am Sherlocked, a member of Loki's Army, a Whovian, and an anime lover.

It's always the kids of the major gods that get the quests, the attention, the praise. No one remembers half-bloods with minor gods or goddesses for parents. No one praises the children of Eris, of Hebe, of Deimos. All the accolades are given to the children of Zeus, Athena, Ares. No one speaks of the children of Ullr, of Eir, of Kvasir. All tales are told of the children of Thor, Idunn, Odin. No one sings of the exploits of the children of Anuke, of Mehen, of Renenutut. All songs tell of the children of Horus, Isis, Ra.

Even in the safe places of the world, children of minor gods and goddesses are forgotten. Overlooked. Ignored. The so-called "major" demigods forget that "minor" demigods are just as important as they are. That they are still demigods, not some kind of lesser being.

That's not all. Discrimination against the children of "evil" gods - Nyx, Loki, Set - runs high in the safe places. Children of these gods and goddesses fight a greater battle than others will ever know, just by getting up every day. The children of "good" gods and goddesses will never know just how much they are hurting the "evil" ones.

Three teenagers - a son of Nemesis, a daughter of Dagur, and a daughter of Mafdet - decided that they would create their own safe place. A place for the rejected. The forgotten. A place for children of minor and "evil" gods and goddesses. It would even be a place for children of major and "good" gods that had been cast out, for whatever reason. They called it the Refuge. They would take in and make welcome anyone who had no other place to go.

The minor and "evil" gods, in thanks for the deeds of these three brave demigods, blessed the Refuge. They swore that it would be protected always against the wrath of the major and "good" gods. Any divine force that targeted the Refuge would not be allowed to harm the place that welcomed the cast out. Loki cast spells of protection over the Refuge. Set placed the power of the desert around its borders. Nyx shrouded its whereabouts in darkness, that only those who meant no harm to the Refuge could find it.

And so the Refuge flourished for twenty years. Their numbers grew, and thanks to the blessings of the gods, so did the size of the Refuge. There was always room for everyone and anyone who found their way to the One True Sanctuary, as some had come to call it. Everything seemed to be going well.

But it wasn't.

Zeus, Odin, and Horus had agreed; the Refuge was a threat, and so must be destroyed. They commanded their followers to find and destroy the One True Sanctuary before its citizens could rise up against them. Nyx, Loki, and Set had also agreed; they would protect the Refuge, no matter who stood against them. It would be a godly battle never before seen, and the demigods would fight as well.

Quests had been given to the children of major and "good" gods. They, too, must seek out and destroy he Refuge. Eager to please their godly parents, they had agreed. Now the demigods of the Refuge must fight to defend their home...

... before it is too late.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, just in case it's unclear; if the god is either little known - such as Dagur, god of the daytime - or known as evil - such as Set, god of the desert - then their children are welcome at the Refuge. If a demigod of a major or "good" god has been cast out for any reason - suspected traitor, failed a vitally important quest, whatever - then they, too, are welcome. However, I would prefer to not have that many kids of major gods. Savvy?

James Oake

Location; Olympus Academy assembly hall
Interacting With; No one, but open to interaction

Thankfully, James was already close to the assembly hall when the students were called in. It took him less than five minutes to make his way over there, lifting a wallet from an arrogant kid boasting about his parentage along the way. The kid didn't even notice the loss of his money, and James chuckled as he entered the assembly hall.

Sitting down in the back of the room, James opened his newly acquired wallet and checked out what was inside. He let out a low whistle at the amount of money, then flipped the wallet closed and slid it into his pocket. That one heist would keep him for quite a while. As for the kid he stole it from? Judging by the amount of money he was carrying around, he was a rich man's brat. He could just ask his mortal daddy for more funds.

As there was no one in front of him, he put his feet up on the chair. Clasping his hands together behind his head, he started whistling one of his favorite songs; Troika by Blackmore's Night. It wasn't the kind of music people would expect a guy like James to listen to, but he didn't care for what they thought. It was a lot better than most modern music he heard.

Serafina Lewison

Location; Olympus Academy campus
Interacting With; Rozalia Éathliel @MiddleEarthRoze

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rozalia, and I might take you up on that later." Serafina offered her hand. "If you ever need help with anything, please ask me. I'm pretty much the Academy mother." She gave a kind of one-shoulder shrug.

Going by the look of Rozalia, this was another girl that Serafina would adopt, if she didn't mind. Hera's daughter usually knew just by speaking to someone for a few minutes if that person could be another one of her children. I probably have the biggest family in the world, she thought, amused. Well, the mortal world, anyway.

Some people found her tendency to adopt those in need somewhat odd, what with who her mother was. Serafina didn't like people bad-mouthing her mother, but she usually found a more peaceful way to defend Hera. She didn't like violence at all, and would rather not hurt anyone. Because of this, she had very few of Ares's children among her adopted family.

Judging by the way students were scurrying around, it was almost time for the assembly. Unlike some of the returning students, Serafina always came to the assembly. That was where she started looking out for those who might be in need of comfort, and besides, she was one of the most frequent volunteers to show the new kids around.

Standing and stretching, she ignored a couple of boys who eyed her and whistled. They were probably just teasing, anyway; why would they look at her when there were so many absolutely gorgeous girls on campus? Brushing off her dress, she made her way towards the assembly hall.

Serafina made it to the assembly hall about ten minutes before it was due to start, so she stood near the doors and waited. She wasn't the only one with that idea, apparently, and she looked over at the nearest person and smiled. "Hey." She said. "I'm Serafina. What's your name?"
"NOT BAD, DISEASE." Death gave Disease a nod and a slight smile, holstering the two pistols and taking hold of the scythe. Morana had no clue how to use the weapon, but Death did. With a mental nod, Morana retreated and let Death control the body. A dangerous smirk plus the sight of the weapon caused a few angels to back up nervously. Then Death let loose.
Speeding through the angels like a whirlwind of fury, Death separated arms and legs from bodies, even causing the loss of one angel's head. He gained some injuries as well, but nothing he couldn't cope with. In the back of his mind, Morana was cheering him on and offering suggestions. The two were a fearsome team.
Oh, that's too bad. See you, Grace.
Miriamne woke with tears in her eyes. "What was that?" She asked, voice shaking a small amount. "Was that... your past?" In response to her tears, water began to gather around them, swirling in a sphere shape. It was beautiful, but to Miriamne, all it meant was that she had lost control, if only slightly.

Now that he had a willing audience, James switched from flourishing to actual tricks, which were delivered with his typical charm and drama. For such a natural showman, this was nothing. He kept an engaging grin on his face, delivering a few quips along with the instructions for the volunteers for his tricks.

"Pick a card, madam, any card - not that card." James pulled the cards away from the lady currently assisting him, then offered them to her again with a smile. "I'm kidding, you can pick that card." The lady smiled back and picked the card. "Okay, now show it to the audience, not me." As if to ensure that he didn't see it, he covered his eyes.

A few minutes later, he successfully completed the trick and started on another one. James continued this way for quite a while, until his hands grew tired. Using a bit of sleight-of-hand, he "vanished" the deck of cards. "I am sorry to say that this is the end, ladies and gentlemen. But fear not, I will return." He gave a deep, theatrical bow.
