Name: Friedrich, Duke von Nordmann,
Physical: Friedrich is a 41 year old man of noble birth who stands 6’ 1” in height (185 cm) and weighs 200 Lbs (90.7 Kg). He has blue eyes and dirty blonde hair that has receded to baldness. He still has a U-shape of hair surrounding his head, but completely bald at the top. His fair complexion ruddied from years of draining bottles of wine and beer.
Description: Benefitting from a life of comfort, Friedrich has received a gentleman’s education in mathematics, engineering, literature, culture, languages and military arts; both personal combat and the art of tactical maneuvering. Freidrich focuses on the business at hand when it is necessary. He will allow levity into his conversation when he believes it is necessary. He enjoys imbibing in beer and wine. When intoxicated, he is normally a happy drunk; the life of the party. Occasionally, he can be an angry drunk yelling at people for irrational reasons. The alcohol will be the death of him one day, if a musket ball does not get him first.

Regimental Organization

Regimental Organization
Each of the three Line Regiments are organized in the same manner. The Royal Grenadier Guards Regiment is organized slightly different. Each regiment has three battalions (abteilungs). The first and second battalions have six companies of the line and the third battalion consists of four light (Jaeger) companies.

The Regimental Staff, including the Regimental Commander numbers 40 men.

The Jaeger (Light) infantry companies provide skirmishers, foragers and reconnaissance forces who may provide screening forces when needed. Each man stands no more than 5' 7" tall. He is nimble and quick on his feet, good at tracking and moving through built up or wooded terrain.

The Grenadier (Heavy) infantry companies provide shock and awe in charging the enemy formations. They are generally held in reserve, used to assault enemy defenses at the critical time of the battle. Each man stands at least 5' 10" tall. He is large and an aggressive fighter.

EDIT: If there is a need, I can provide a Division complete with three infantry brigades, a cavalry brigade and an artillery battalion (20 guns). Total men ~42,000 + Division staff. I did not account for pioneers or baggage trains.

There is much conjecture over whether reincarnation is real or imagined. Regardless, fiction is a great medium for exploring the concept. I have been told that one’s soul fractures upon death and may inhabit a new life many years later. Any number of years could pass between death and rebirth. This roleplay explores this idea.

Your character will not have a name, initially. I will ask for character sheets to include personality, skills, strengths and weaknesses the first iteration may possess. The character may acquire new skills during their youth, but these may not pass on to subsequent lives. In either case, I am more interested in the character’s proclivities, habits or behavioral tendencies than acquired skills. Some people have proclivities to work hard, while others would prefer to loaf around on the couch all day. We will also select a color to distinguish our character from others. I have 16 chapters or lives planned from antiquity to present that your character will live. We will only see a glimpse of their lives, maybe a half dozen or fewer posts per character. Then they die.

Our Cast of Characters will all be friends or family members and know each other very well. We all grew up together or served in a military as brothers (and sisters) in arms. I intend to displace the notion of gender discrimination (realistic history) in favor of including all characters, regardless of gender or race. Yes, a woman can be a warrior in this role play. Religion will be significant. We start in Greece and the Greek pantheon of Gods are in play. Then we move to Rome and the Roman Gods are in providing our blessings. Eventually Christendom is the preferred faith and at a later date we all may be Jewish or Muslim.

If your character is a man in Ancient Greece in 425 BC, he/she may be a female in XX Roman Legion in Britannia in 60 AD. I am a student of military history and many of the chapters ask for your character to be a soldier in some historical battle, but not all. The Chapter on the Spanish Inquisition will ask you to create a character who is one of the oppressed, living in Barcelona in 1478. Your character is not a soldier, but a family member forced to fight for survival during the final Crusade of Christendom.
