Many of the villagers murmured in agreement with what Cardlin said. "Agreed." Bodil put in her two cents. "Either we figure out what the hell is do'n this to us, killing our people and our dragons, or we find out who the f*** is pissing the Gods off." She said in an almost joking tone of voice. Everyone knew she wasn't joking, Bodil just wasn't completely serious.
Hiccup nodded, sighing. "Yes, something needs to be done, but the problem is that we don't even know what is killing us." He started, gesturing towards the pile of bodies, frowning, "so I think that I, along with a few other dragon riders, should go out and see if we can find something, anything, that can give us a clue on what's happening." Hiccup scratched the back of his head while Toothless looked at him. Hiccup rested his hand on Toothless's black, leathery head. "I can't promise that going out and searching will mean we'll find something, I can't even promise that we'll come back, but if anyone wants to join the cause-"
"I'm SO in!" Bodil shouted as she cut off Hiccup, fist pumping the air as the muscles in her arms rippled. Turn down a chance at a suicide mission? Hell no! She snickered and once again as she crossed her arms over her gronkle iron and leather breastplate, looking out at the crowd with pride. "Who else is stupid enough to come with me and the Chief?" She asked, a toothy smirk on her face. Vikings whispered about how they rather wait for the beast to come and kill them, others whispered about how it was 'to come with the chief and I'.
Hiccup looked out into the crowd. He was starting to get the feeling that the group was going to be very, very, very small. He didn't know if that would hurt their chances of survival or not. He hoped that in the long run a small group would prove to be beneficial. "Anyone else?" He asked, strongly. Oh, Gods, if he was left alone with this brute, Hiccup would have to have Toothless blast him to bits.
