Tomomi found herself sat down next to Akira. Eh, there were worse people, but he'd never really interested her. She needed excitement, drama, stuff happening! The quiet, reserved type wasn't really her thing, so she doubted she'd have a good conversation with him. Glancing over at him, she sighed. They hadn't talked much, and she really felt like she wasn't the problem here. To be fair, Tomomi never figured she was the problem, and other people often disagreed on that.
"Cheerful as ever, aren't you?" she said, rolling her eyes, then continuing to speak, determined to get a reply. "Geez, never thought I'd actually want the principal to start talking... Do you ever like, smile at people or anything?" she said, poking Akira in the shoulder.
So she was being a little snide, but the dude needed to cheer up a bit! As irritating as Tomomi had been told she could be, at least she didn't mope about looking like someone spat in her breakfast all day. As she waited for the principal to figure out how to work the microphone, or just figure out how to talk louder, she started drumming her feet on the ground impatiently.
Personality:: Mae's attitude towards life could be described as 'efficient'. She hasn't got much patience for arrogance, self-righteousness, or weakness and is quick to call people out whenever they allow themselves to fall into one of those. She's a lot less sympathetic towards the humans than some of her fellow members of the Heathen Pack, having joined more out of hatred for the Spade Gang than love for humanity - she won't slaughter them for sport, but is happy enough to kill them if they get in her way, or to hunt them for food. She isn't proud of it, but refuses to be ashamed either. As far as she's concerned, it's just the way things have to be.
She is quite cunning, and ruthless to boot. The contrast between her initial innocent appearance and her true nature can be quite jarring, only emphasised by her mask's constant grin. While her actions and attitude are found immoral by some, she is protective of her friends, with a clear head and determined attitude in a bad situation.
History:: Mae's parents were a pair of Ukaku ghouls native to Tokyo, and she grew up drifting between districts, together with her best friend, Nomi. The two were inseparable, doing everything together, never seeming to be apart at all. They even had their masks made to compliment each other. Mae, being the more reserved and controlled of the two, took Tragedy as her mask, while Nomi, a ball of endless optimism, took Comedy.
As teenagers, they would compete with each other, always trying to outdo each other in everything. Most of the contests were fairly unbalanced, owing to their different kagunes, Nomi being a Rinkaku user, but they had fun nonetheless.
As they left their home together, driving a weaker ghoul out to claim territory and started to hunt their own 'prey', their meetings became a little less cheerful in tone. Mae was prepared for killing humans, and didn't cope with it badly at all. Nomi, on the other hand, struggled to deal with it, having been much more sociable and friendly to humans from outside before.
Mae's inability to understand Nomi's distress didn't help much, matter-of-fact explanations being provided in place of comfort for her friend, but Mae reasoned that she'd have to come to terms with it eventually.
Nomi, however, in her vulnerable state, met with a member of the Spade Gang, and got caught up with their ideas. Eventually, they convinced her that she should give them the territory that she and Mae had claimed for themselves. Mae, having refused to listen to their propaganda, was marked to be killed - the Spade Gang telling Nomi to do it herself.
When the two confronted each other, Mae won the fight, killing Nomi, but knew she had no hope of taking on the rest of the Spade Gang alone. To remind herself of the mistakes she'd made, and the events of that night, she took Nomi's mask, changing her identity from 'Tragedy' to 'Comedy'. Operating by herself, she became a thorn in the side of the Spade Gang, and one of the most feared ghouls in the city.
However, Mae realised that she was never going to take them down by herself, and hearing the rumours about the Heathen Pack, she sought them out and offered her assistance. With her knowledge of the city's darkest corners, relentless willpower and ruthless perspective, she became useful ally, proving her usefulness and becoming the organisation's Beta.
Mask::
Kagune Type:: Ukaku
Kagune Description:: Dark red, Dragonfly-like wings, with two pairs, one larger and one smaller. Her larger wings are capable of firing a flurry of razor-like projectiles at incredibly high velocity to slice her enemies. This is her main tactic in a fight, her speed, agility and flying abilities allowing her to dodge around the battlefield and slice apart her opponents. Her smaller pair of wings are used as blades in melee combat, since they are more flexible and easier to move quickly than the larger ones. She prefers to avoid close-combat fighting if possible.
Tomomi just smiled insufferably at Kumagera's scolding. "Whatever you say, sir."
She wasn't worried about it herself, and she had a feeling that Kumagera had only brought up the counsellor thing to make her seem like a wimp. Might've worked, if she wasn't Tomomi freaking Katayama. Anyone that looked at her like a wimp had another thing coming, and the thing would be a a punch in the teeth.
Looking around the class, her comments really hadn't had as much of an effect as she'd hoped. A couple of students seemed freaked out, but that was it. Hey, two was better than none. Infinitely better. Fun times were ahead, that was for sure!
Still, she couldn't help but feel that the guy was being a little too generous towards the police in this instance. Sure, they'd caught the guy eventually, but he'd literally been right under their noses the whole time. Was she supposed to congratulate them for noticing that there was a serial killer in their ranks after a year of searching?
Man, someone sure should make them a prize. Maybe a sticker, or a tinfoil medal. 'Congratulations, you did your job for once!'.
Okay, so maybe Tomomi was a little biased against the police. She'd had a few run-ins with them in the past, and it seemed to her like they just cared about shutting down her fun. No wonder they couldn't deal with anything important, they spent all their time chasing after kids with spray cans! You know, to pick a random example.
This took way less time than I expected! Although I think that's just 'cause I'd already finished half of it by the time I thought to ask if it was okay. Definitely didn't spend about an hour picking a hero name. Nope.
Anyway, here's a character sheet!

| Birth Date | 25th January 1997
| Age | 19
| Classification | Freshman
| Gender | Female
| Sexuality | Bisexual
| Alias | Cipher
| Role | Hero
| Loyalty | Mayweather
| In Depth Appearance | Standing at around 5'6" and 130 lbs, Amy doesn't particularly stand out compared to a lot of the people at first glance. She has a tattoo of a hummingbird on her shoulder blade that isn't generally visible to others due to the clothes she wears, which aren't particularly revealing. Most of the time, she just wears casual shirts along with jeans and battered old sneakers. Her hair tends to be styled to stay out of her face, although there are a few strands that seem to fall there no matter what she does.
Her makeup is fairly natural, clearly not intended to draw attention to her at all. Her ears are pierced, and she tends to wear fairly small silver earrings. Other than that, she doesn't wear much jewellery. She normally seems to be smiling to herself a little bit, like she's in on a joke that no-one else is. This can make it seem like she's laughing at people, even if she doesn't intend to give that impression.
If someone looks closely, they might notice that she carries a small extendable baton under her jacket. This is mostly to use in conjunction with her powers - what's the point of shutting down someone's abilities if they can still beat the crap out of you?

| Personality | Amelia is a very controlled person. She isn't proud of having powers, and thinks of herself as slightly seperate from other supers. Partly as a result of growing up thinking she was normal, and partly because the nature of her powers, she doesn't make it a part of her identity like many seem to, thinking of herself not as a super, but rather as a normal person who just happens to have powers.
She is quite the optimist, and tends to try and keep others feeling positive about things while still staying realistic. Preferring to keep a low profile and avoid confrontation, she doesn't make a big fuss over most things, although she will happily talk to people. She can be quite trusting initially, although if someone betrays her then she won't listen to them again.
One of the few things that can make her angry is when people talk badly about people without powers. She has a little bit of an inferiority complex from comparing herself to people with more physically impressive powers in the Academy, and it is an easy way to provoke her into action. If someone does make her angry, though, she can be surprisingly ruthless in her attacks to the point where it can get out of proportion in terms of violence.
| Abilities | Advanced - Negation Field: Amy can completely nullify the powers of people in a controlled radius around her, excluding her own minor power. She can extend and retract the boundaries of this 'field' at will, though it is always at least somewhat present, generally confined to the space within her own body. It does block telepathy from affecting her, however.
Minor - Instinctive knowledge: Upon coming into contact with any man-made tool, Amy instinctively knows how to use it at a high level. This ability also extends to computer skills, making her an impressive programmer and occasional hacker.
| Limitations |
Negation Field: Amy cannot control who the field affects, only the radius of the field. This means that it can hamper her allies as well as her enemies. She is also vulnerable to attacks from outside the field, meaning that if she is caught off-guard she can be taken out quickly.
Instinctive knowledge: While her technical skill is high, her actual physique is still that of a normal human being. Her ability only seems to work with whatever the tool was designed for - if she was fighting with something not intended to be a weapon, she would be fairly useless at wielding it.
| Place Of Origin | Glasgow, Scotland
| Family | Mother: Abbie Stevenson: The manager of the family cafe in Glasgow, with a penchant for expensive jewellery. No known powers.
Father: David Stevenson: A mechanic at a garage. No known powers.
| History | Growing up in Glasgow, Amy was always a pretty normal girl. Sure, sure, she was good at stuff. Top of the class when it came to painting and sports like javelin, but nothing that couldn't be explained by just being naturally talented. Her intelligence was always a little above average, but nothing seemed too impressive about her, and she didn't really have the drive to push herself into taking a degree, leaving school at 17 with slightly above-average grades.
After half a year living at home, unemployed, she ended up landing herself an IT job thanks to her impressive programming skills - something that seemed to come out of nowhere - she spent most of that year helping people out as much as she could at a small company. Sadly, it wasn't to last, and around a year after she'd taken the job the offices were attacked by a rogue super.
An air manipulator, he massacred the people in the office quickly and brutally, flying past the windows and launching projectiles that caught them off-guard. When he came to Amy's floor, she was standing at the window, watching in horror as he moved up the building. As he floated up, their eyes locked she felt a cold, almost empty feeling extend from her, and the man's psychotic grin morphed into a look of confusion and shock as his powers failed and he was sent spiralling towards the pavement.
Amy herself was almost as shocked at what happened, but the realisation that she might not be as average as she thought eventually sunk in. Even if she realised that she'd killed the man, she didn't feel particularly sorry about it. Sure, normally the death penalty was serious, and it didn't really happen where she lived, but some people really did deserve it, you know?
She began to practice manipulating the field, realising that she could extend it around her at will. In her attempts to try an discover her secondary power - supers had those, at least as far as she knew - it occurred to her that her skills with painting and programming might not just be a coincidence. Buying a series of assorted tools, she tested each of them, and sure enough, she could use them perfectly.
Realising that she was no longer content with just being another girl working in a dead-end job, she made the decision to apply to Mayweather in the United States. Once she got there, she tried not to stand out too much, keeping her head down and making sure not to tell anyone her power.
To her irritation, her main ability was useless in the control room, leading most people to see her as one of the weakest people in the entire Academy. The only people that give it a second thought seem to be the school's telepaths, whose abilities her field blocks from taking effect even when she restricts it to within her body.
No-one in the school - well, schools - has actually confronted her to her face, but she suspects that it is only a matter of time before they go for her. After all, she'd seem like a pretty easy target from her terrible control room performances. Despite not minding flying under the radar, she finds herself looking forward to proving them wrong about that.

Abigail cheered as Tesh's Meowth defeated the Zigzagoon, giving the older trainer a thumbs up. Realising that they'd have to travel pretty soon, she returned Cookie and Waffles to their pokeballs. Didn't want them to get too tired on the walk! With the usual spring in her step, she turned to go, waiting for Tesh to catch up. A couple of minutes later, Lynn came out of the forest, looking slightly less grumpy than usual for once. Once they were all together, they headed a little bit down the route and into the woods.
A few minutes into their walk, Abigail was getting creeped out. It was so quiet, and she really didn't do quiet very well. Maybe there was some kind of noise-cancelling machine around. That seemed like the only logical explanation for how quiet it was. Seriously though, she was wondering where all the Pokemon had gone. Had they headed on a walk or something? Were they on holiday?
For some reason, the image of a bunch of forest Pokemon on a beach holiday sent her into a fit of giggles, which cheered her up a little. It was kinda awkward with the place's atmosphere though. Once she'd calmed down, she decided to say something to break the silence. "So, uh, it's kinda quiet, isn't it? It feels like something's gonna jump out and eat us or something." she said, then went pale at the idea, calling out to the forest.
"Hey, if there's anything out there, you should know that these two would probably make a way better meal than I would!" she looked at her companions with an innocent smile. "Better safe than sorry, you know?"
Okay, question. Would it be possible for me to make a second character as well as Keats? There's a power I really want to use, but I can never use it in more combat-focused RPs.
I also really suck about ever posting in OOC apparently. Oops.
Tomomi raised an eyebrow when Kumagera started talking about the kidnappings. Okay, so the school were saying that it was nothing to worry about, but the fact that they felt the need to go out of their way to say that made her a bit suspicious of the whole thing. Besides, their whole reassurance wasn't really helpful, and she rolled her eyes, leaning forward in her chair.
Not one to stay quiet, she decided to voice her concerns, voice laced with sarcasm. "Oh, they're just kidnappings? That's fine then. Good thing you said that, otherwise people might be worried, you know? she said, shaking her head. After giving it a second to make sure people were paying attention, she continued.
"Oh, there's nothing to worry about, but make sure you're never alone 'cause you might get kidnapped! But don't worry, the police are handling it, 'cause they just did such a great job last time!" she smirked, folding her arms and shaking her head. Hey, it was true, wasn't it? Besides, Tomomi honestly couldn't care less about the announcement. If anything, she was glad something might be happening again.
Sure if she saw something going on she'd try and help, but whatever. Stuff like this never had anything to do with her. Buncha warnings and keep-safe announcements would go out and nothing would mean anything to her personally. That's how stuff always went down, so why not just laugh about it while it happened?
Kumagera wasn't too bad, Tomomi guessed. There were worse teachers in the school at least, he probably wouldn't bother her too much. She took a seat at the window, near the back of the room where she hopefully wouldn't be called on that often. She sat down, leaning back in her chair and putting her feet up on the desk. A couple of students gave her funny looks but she ignored them and stared out of the window, trying to find shapes in the clouds.
This was why she didn't like classrooms. She just had to sit there and think about stuff, or learn the useless knowledge the teachers tried to fill their brains with. Humming a tune under her breath, she kept looking out of the window, daydreaming about being somewhere else where things actually happened. It helped pass the time. Besides that, spending her time looking out of the window would help make it clear to Kumagera that she didn't care about whatever he had to say to her. If he got the message quick then the days might go by just a little faster.
She couldn't wait for lunchtime. Wasn't a big eater or anything, but sitting still for this long in the class wasn't Tomomi's style, you know? She'd pay enough attention to pass her exams - maybe - but beyond that was unlikely.
