My Characters (More Complete)

Hey, just wondering if this is still open to new players, if so I would definitely like to jump in with a character sheet.

I sent you a PM too, but I'm sorry to say we're closed :c I only have one last space left, and I'm holding it off for another person who still has to send in a writing sample. I'll let you know if anything opens up though!

Question! What are the cultures like in this world we're creating, or can we introduce them as part of the sandbox aspect of it?

You can introduce them! But you should post them here or pm me about it, just to get an a-ok. c: I was thinking there would be different villages, areas, and so on that carry their own cultures as we travel through etc.

Welcome to the World of Pandria (This RP is closed)

Basic Overview: The main plot of this RP revolves around a caravan of oxen with carts full of supplies, and their owner Rudolf VanKirtschein, a well-known traveling merchant. He has gathered a group of strangers together, and is willing to pay for their expenses and for their help in protecting his supplies through his journey between continents.

The RP starts in the continent called Furus, and ends in the continent Thialea, at the city known as Novan.

Challenges: This group of strangers will have to not only battle the elements, but will be faced with monsters, thieves, bandits, pirates and blasts from their pasts!

Duration: The journey in the story should take up to 7-12 months, roughly, it may be more. (I’m sure there will be timeskips).

Reward: Their reward will be riches and the chance to start a new life someplace completely new! Who doesn’t like that?

RP Focus: I hope that everyone who becomes involved in this story is able to treat this world as a sandbox. Feel free to create your own towns with their own histories, races, npcs and events. If there is a specific event that you wish to involve, surrounding the main plot, I just ask you to discuss it here in the OOC thread. If it is an event that you wish to keep private, but may include a few characters, you can PM me about it, and then PM the owners of said characters. As GM I will be leading the way, and enforcing some of the world’s rules, but I hope that everyone will be willing to bring something to the table, an idea, an event or even a villain.

RP Rules:

1. Although I am allowing all players to create and incorporate what they wish, I do ask that you bring it up here in the OOC or PM me directly about it. Just so that we have an idea of what it is and if it fits in well where the RP is going.

2. Everyone can have up to 2 or 3 characters, but any more than that and I believe posts/characters will get confusing.

3. Private conversation between characters can be made between PM and then summarized in a post in the IC thread.

4. General site guidelines and rules will be followed in this RP, especially when it comes to godmodding and extremely mature themes, which shall remain in PM.

5. Please respect your other rpers and their characters. If conflicts should arise, PM me and hopefully we’ll be able to discuss everything peacefully.

6. Quality is much more important than quantity. This is an advanced RP, however it will also be highly focused on conversations between characters. Please don’t try to make a novel out of a yes or no question. No one wants that. But this RP will be focused a ton on character development and bonds between characters c:

7. If you have to take a break from the rp, or will be unable to post for whatever reason, feel free to just PM me. This roleplay can be flexible, characters can get lost or split from the group and can rejoin later. Or, we can come up with a plot idea together that will allow you to leave for as long as you wish.

I'm interested, but I do have a few questions:1. What's the maximum amount of people you're willing to accept? Three other people have already expressed interest/probably already PMed you the required writing sample, and so I would like to know if there's still room or if I'd have to "compete" to get in.2. Are there actually limits to how or how much a person could use magic? As in, are there rules to magic, such as you can't combine spells, you can't learn multiple elements/types, etc.?

To be honest, I had no idea that I'd get this much interest lol. I saw other interest checks barely reeling anyone in, so I'm really surprised! Right now, I'm actually still waiting on writing samples from almost everyone. So I want to say that I'm still accepting. I'm going to wait for when I have all the samples, before I let people go. But this is a journey rp, so it can have a lot of players. Really it's just the aspect on waiting for so many people to post that makes me falter.

So if you want, feel free to send in a sample. I'm not gonna guarantee anything just yet. I'm sorry I'm being so wishy washy, I just need to figure out exactly how many people I do want. I'm looking for about a party of 7-10 characters anyway.

As for the magic, there isn't really a limit on what you can learn. But as I stated in character rules, there has to be a major kickback from magic, so it would be incredibly hard to combine spells or learn more than one element. Also keep in mind that this world is highly distrustful towards it. Many people have died because they can use it, etc. So although this world has magic, it is floundering a bit and it is rare. It's not something you use often in public, or show off, etc.

Which is another problem, I might have to limit characters if everyone wants to have a magic user. I'm not really interested in a party of all magic wielders, in a world where it is supposed to be a bit rare :/

I'm interested as well, but have the same questions as Sen.

I hope the above answered your questions. Feel free to send in a sample if you want to, but I can't guarantee full acceptance right now. c:

This sounds pretty cool! I'm interested! :D

Yay! Thank you for your interest! Would you mind PMing me a small writing sample? It can be something short/something you've written before. I'm just having everyone do it to get a feel of writing styles! If you don't mind c:

Usually I have my time mage function similarly to a healer at first who can reverse time to heal wounds. In fact, the character often thinks of his/herself as a healer and discovers her other abilities later (think of Otihime's healing from Bleach). I usually make it so that I can only speed/slow/reverse time in a small sphere close to my body. The further extended the sphere is from my body, the more energy it takes. The larger the sphere, the more energy. The faster/slower the time difference is, more energy. Controlling multiple spheres is near impossible as it takes exponentially increased amounts of energy to perform. Think of it as a power that starts off extremely weak but, given enough time and training, can be immensely strong. However, Ive never gotten far enough in an RP for the power to develop it past initial stages. :/Also, taking time off of one's own life might not be drastic enough because, effectively, there isnt a kick back at all. Even if I cant be a time mage, Im still interested. :)

Oh!! I actually really like that. It can be used for a lot of things down the road! And what I meant by that example was they aged quickly lol. But I'm so glad you're interested! Would you mind PMing me a small writing sample? It can be something short/something you've written before. I'm just having everyone do it to get a feel of writing styles! If you don't mind c:

Id love to play a character that uses magic (yes, I read what you had to say about it). I typically like to play a time-mage which people often assume will be OP. Thus, Im used to having limiters that, say, make my character obscenely exhausted when trying to cast, yknow, anything.

A time mage does make me a little iffy, because as you say, they can be considered really OP, and I don't know if it's really what I'm looking for. But I have seen it done before, where the time magic actually used up years of the user's life. I'm not saying the kickback has to be that drastic, but I'm wiling to discuss it. I'd be interested in seeing your character's story, and how that magic developed/came about.
