Clanless

Those without clans come in one of two groups. The first are known as Clanless and are normally the result of someone's clan no longer existing or them being exiled, but can be the result of other reasons as well. Clanless almost always move to the nearest village or town that will take them and if not adopted into the clan they are often forced to live on the outskirts away from the actual members. They are often left with less honorable work, and their more isolated locations makes them more likely targets of more bold bandits or beasts. They are often forbidden from taking part in clan festivals and generally treated as second class by most clans until they either leave or do something that causes the clan to truly make them part of it. Since they tend to be mistreated sometimes small groups of clanless will find an abandoned village and live there, occasionally this resulting in a new clan forming over time but often just serving as group of independent homes in the same area.

The other type of humans without clans are Wildmen. These are humans who live outside of "civilized" society altogether instead living in loose nomadic tribes more akin to the local Oni than the structured human clans. Living in the mostly untamed wilds of Baji makes wildmen very tough and a lot more instinct based than other humans, learning to act and adapt very quickly from a young age. They speak a simplified version of the normal Bajin language and generally have disdain for most Clans finding them out of balance with nature, and are more likely to rob caravans than trade with them. They tend to worship ancient animal spirits or powerful spirits that they run across or accidently awaken instead of the gods of Baji. Due to their similar nature Wildmen tribes are much more likely to interact with Oni and as such are where most breeding with Oni takes place, as they are also much more likely to join each other's tribes or at least be conquered by an Oni tribe.

Yuudai would likely know this already but what is the closest village to where the relics were stolen?

Thinking that they had to have a base camp somewhere right for planning and sleep, so what better place to start. After I get a answer I will post again ^^

The closest Shima related village would be a small village of Uta, the closest non shima village would be Ru.

Well made a post. not the best but the guide is there now and we are at a point where they can start heading to a new location. Any of the random trade items packed with the group supplies you guys can make up if you have it that your characters requested them, or anything similar.

Once the group had said their goodbyes and gathered any additional personal items they needed, it was time to set out. They were informed they would be met on their way out by an additional companion as well as given their group supplies, meaning they would only have to carry important personal items themselves. Though it was possible that they would be back soon, most doubted it unless for a quick report if they had to loop back around. As such many were treating it saying goodbye before the group was gone for possibly years, with that thought in their heads everyone they passed bowed and said goodbye once more. Some thought they were being sent on a hopeless journey and would either die out there or come back empty handed, but most were given hope by them setting out and felt things just might end up alright.

Eventually they reached the edge of the town and were greeted by a young man whose robes had symbols on them that were similar to some of the Naji ones of nearby villages. While to most nothing outside of his symbols would stand out, there would be a slight spiritual tug on both him and Metou due to his connection with corvids (not enough to allow telepathic communication). Behind him were 4 rontu carrying a good amount of supplies for both setting up camps, feeding themselves, and various items that the clan felt would be useful on the journey such as protective charms and crafted items for trading. On all sides of the rontu were Shima guards, serving as escorts to discourage bandits from trying to steal everything. After a quick bow he greeted them.

"Hello I am Takumi, Young Wing of the Kunteki clan. My people don't settle this island so I'm unaware if you have met any of us. We are known for being great guides and as such your Lord has hired me to help you all find the fastest, safest, most traveled, or any other kind of path you desire as well as help provide info on distant locations. My people are technically part of the Naji clan but I don't consider myself such, so you don't have to worry about any issues you may have with them currently. This guards will accompany us for a short while before leaving us on our own, just tell me where you want to go, how soon you want to get there, and any other info of importance, and I will chart out the best path." He spoke with a relaxed tone, with body language that matched. To him this was mostly just another job so he didn't have the same passion or intense respect that a Shima guide would have had.

Rontu

Name: Rontu
Physical Description:

Rontu

Dark red hide, and light red hair, eyes are also red

Size: At adulthood about 6 feet tall from hoof to head. 8 feet from tail to head in length.

Location: Wild populations on each island, with a few clans specializing in breeding them.
Diet: Mostly feeds on tall grasses and other vegetation.

In Society: It is the most common form of transportation for 1-2 people, and often used as mount for military actions. They are very strong and are often used to pull carts as well as people.
Lifespan: 10-20 years

Behavior: They are docile creatures towards people, rarely showing signs of aggression unless attacked by them. Towards other animals they are the same unless it's a predator in which case they will try to run away. Generally speaking a Rontu will wander around, eating and running in a large circle when left alone by its owner. They'll try to stay in the area for a day, after which if no sign of their owner they'll leave to head home.
