Etor hears the call to hold them at the gap. He's realized he's too inexperienced for battle. The scouting and recon missions he went on when he was in Ravinia's group better suited him. She wasn't holding him back she wanted to make sure he was ready. He swore he'd make it out of this alive and ask Ravinia for forgiveness at his abrupt transfer request. He looked towards Balathu and received a nod almost if this mind was read. He wouldn't join the fray as the stoic lancer prepared to do.

Etor: "Thank you."

Etor rushed forward, looking at each row of houses to see if any were left unsecured. Once he reached the last row he thought maybe if he set one of the buildings ablaze then the ensuing chaos could work towards the hellion's advantage. He pauses in the greenery by the last house on the row to make sure no surprises came out before he barfed in.

The hellions have always navigated a tightrope of independence and cooperation.Etor thought long and hard about his next actions. As he navigated further into the city the opening to the right hosted many enemies. Rather then approach them he thought about his lack of control and accuracy. He didn't want to put others in danger trying to save him so he lost his nerve. The spearman moved into the trees and prepared himself to strike once the enemies had scattered to address the rest of the hellions. While he could not be brave in this moment he clutched his spear to be brave at the next moment and the moment after that. He reassured himself he could be brave one moment at a time and that's all that was needed from him.

The city itself didn't stand out in any meaningful way and Etor wasn't sightseeing. Trying to gauge where any additional enemies might be lurking he walked forward with vigilance and almost walked into Ninil while he was looking at an archer stationed at a tower on the far side of the wall.

Etor: "Oh. Hey Ninil. Everything going okay for you all? "

Etor kept looking around at the other enemies stationed about so he wasn't really looking at Ninil when he was asking his question. Since he always felt nonchalant around Ninil he felt comfortable that Ninil wouldn't be slighted by the lack of eye contact on the battlefield. Best to keep eyes on the enemy after all.

The surprise soon led to a sigh of relief as makeen made quick work of the barely living archer. He couldn't be upset because things like this happen. No one owns a kill if anything he felt Makeen was looking after him. He lets up a small wave towards makeen from the tower. Whether or not Makeen was not determined.

Etor: "Thanks! "

Now that the the squad was back together Etor pushed forward into the city. He was eager to get whatever mysticism budding within cultivated for the sake of the hellions.

The words of zuzu are strangely comforting, more so each time he is healed. With renewed vigor the young lad prepares to keep his promise to the enemy and destroy all who oppose the hellions. All who oppose zuzu must be turned to dust and that dust into sand and that sand to be heated by the sun and turned into glorious glass!

The frazzled spearman shakes those intrusive thoughts from his mind to focus on the task at hand.

Etor moves into the city. Siris boisterously addressing Etor to handle a potential enemy without noticing the ennui emanating off of the youngling.

Etor: " You got it!"

The spearman was thankful that Siris gave him the opportunity to pretend to be okay. As he ascended the wooden stairs he steadied himself. Plagued with doubt he thought to himself: "The mysticism can't be wrong and it's rare, that much I knows for sure." Even if Siris' aim was true Etor would take this opportunity to never let himself fall into the abyss again. He sees the enemy archer drenched in their own blood, and invokes the mysticism within himself.

Etor: "... Crush. "

A black piddle formulates, drops with erratic movement, then slides off the archer. Etor's eyes widen as the bowman draws a breathe.

Etor's glum expression replaces the old expression of being lost. He's regained his bearings but cannot shake the loss of control and how ashamed his father would be of him for speaking what was instilled in him to be forbidden.

Etor: "... Yeah. I'll go. "

The spearman moved quickly but with ragged breathe as he stifled tears. Trying to harden himself for the battlefield. The boy in the battlefield of warriors ostracized himself mentally. He kept spiralling until he saw Lyun across the battlefield. When the door opened the large axeman was barely standing, bloodied and fierce. The youngling stared and steadied himself. To live is to persist. He believed himself to be redeemable. Etor is nothing if not persistent.

His father would be so ashamed. Just a little boy lost in some shrubbery. Ashur's words steadied Etor. Having Ashur's back brought him back to reality. As the bandit let Etor know that enemies still had the advantage. The others still needed help and what of lyun. Etor followed soon after. Instantly he was lost again. The promise of victory or the violence in the air, one or the other brought back the ancient words to the youngling's mind. His very soul ached so much he let off another ancient word with little thought and accuracy.

Etor: "BURIAL"

His father's face is burned in his mind. A look that always betrayed him and displayed the loss of his beloved. A look of anger when Etor displayed any whimsy for the unknown. The look of violence when he imbibed and blamed a young child for all of his sorrows. Faces he knew too well. However when Etor expelled his ancient power he realized he lost the image of his mother. Her whole presence in his memories. Gone. No warmth. Nothing.

Etor's eyes are filled with tears and the tears give way to anger. Everything was lost to him. He balls his fists and glares at the rebel.

Etor: "Enemy. Our names don't matter but what is important is that I will make it in that city. If you don't strike me down I'll burn it to the ground. If my feet cross that bridge then you will be responsible for letting the devil itself into the city. I will break and I will pillage. I'll burn the women and children. Everything of value to you will be stripped from you and sold as commodity. The stories and fables you tell your children will be non existent! STRIKE! ME! DOWN! STRIKE ME DOWN! STRIKEMEDOWNSTRIKEMEDOWNSTRIKEMEDOWN!

The youngling looks to be in a stupor. The ord of protection keeping him upright. Etor proceeds to meander into the woods

Etor: "STOP... Stop... stop"

The spearman's is not actually trying to get anything to stop. He hadn't the wherewithall to notice his surroundings for it to make sense. His initiation into mysticism has him repeating the word to try to activate the magic again. He's repeating it over and over as he walks to try to get a feel for it again but the magic is not gifting the youngling with it's presence.

Etor's heart was filled with doubt and his spear would not be useful in these scenario. With enemies approaching he takes his chest plate off to be more agile and to catch his breathe. His chest heaves as more enemies approach and lady Lahamu comes to his aid. Her best efforts are rewarded with a devastating blow. The panic intensifies as the runes in his scripture begin to glow. With confusion adding to the panic Etor is at wit's end.

Etor: "STOP"

A black coffin obliterates several trees by the rebel. Etor speaks words previously unspoken. The youngling cannot grasp the power he possess so he can't control himself. He's lost in it.

Etor missed lyun and felt a little uncomfortable without him in their formation. Knowing Lyun would break the tactic of whatever team they opposed made Etor a more confident fighter. Eavesdropping on chatter throughout the camp the idea that lyun might be part of the opposing team rattled him. His youth and inexperience became apparent in that moment as he didn't know how to be most useful on the battlefield. He'd have to talk to Siris to find out what makes him so confident and headstrong.

Etor: "...Wait for me! I'll go into the house to make sure we don't get ambushed."

This served two purposes. Etor would have more time to regroup and formulate ideas to find the best role he could play in this mission. There was also the possibility of more coin. Etor has heard of but never seen gray metal. He'd need more coins, as all sellswords do, to purchase stronger weapons. In the young spearman's the stronger he becomes the less likely he'll see people around him die and the less likely they are to leave.
