Name: Kjalr Svensson
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Rank: Noble in Scandinavia, Prisoner in Mercia.
Appearance:
Personality: Kjalr is a warrior but first and foremost he’s a father and husband. He’s gentle and kind, but not opposed to entirely butchering anyone and everyone who gets in his way, however, he is not quick to anger and is not opposed to analyzing every situation rationally before drawing his sword.
History: Kjalr was born in 772 AD to Sven Carrson, the Earl of a small port village, known as Skaggerak. In 791, his father sent him to a neighboring Earl, called Klapr, to work off a debt. In 792, Kjalr met Ylva, the daughter of the local smith. They married and in early 793, Kjalr’s son, Brand, was born. A few months after his son’s birth, Kjalr went, in the service of Earl Klapr, to Lindisfarne. By 806, Kjalr had participated in several small raids along the English and Irish coasts, but one raid went bad, as the English had seen the ships coming upriver and prepared a defense. Kjalr was wounded, captured and believed to be the only survivor of the botched raid. He was unconscious for 3 days and when he awoke, he was in a cell. He had no knowledge of where he was, but luckily, had learned to speak English fluently over his many years of raiding, a skill that would hopefully allow him to gain some answers.
