Mina was sure there was a question directed at her somewhere, but her eyes had fallen on the view outside the motel room and she couldn't keep her mind from wandering. The room faced the sight of one of the island's three trial locations. In the harsh light of the midmorning sun, the many pools of the Brooklet Hills shone like prisms, rainbows arcing from the waters. It was perfect, and Mina itched to put it on a canvas.

There was lull in the motel room and Mina blinked. Anabel was holding out a strange Pokeball, blue with a certain aura that Mina couldn't place. Looker, off to the side, was watching her with an expectant look. Ah! There was a question, and, by the look on Anabel's face, an explanation as to what that Pokeball was. She'd have to bite the bullet on that one later, but for now, she could just pretend she was listening.

"I guess you want to know where these crazy guys are," she began. When Looker nodded, she barely bit back a sigh of relief. She'd been right with that one. "I sketched this in Heahea City." It was one of the hundred or so sketches she'd done that day while wandering around the city. Originally, she was meant to visit the other trial sites to try and find inspiration for her own trial, but when she stepped off the boat, she knew she just had to dedicate a day - or two, or six - to capturing the city and its people. Her eyes wandered back outside. The area around the motel held so much potential. She could-

Right, right. She had people to talk to, and wasn't there more to do? They were still looking at her expectantly, like the way Ilima and the other Trial Captains did. Oh no. "You want me to come with you and try to catch them?" She should have expected it when the International Police contacted her, and she supposed she had. There was something about these creatures that called to her -called for her to capture them not just in Pokeballs but in something more immaculate. She shrugged, and the edge of her lips quirked up in a small smile. "Yeah, sure. Let's go. I'm not sure if they're still in the city, but it's a good start."

She opened the door - the sight outside called for her, but she kept her resolve; she'd paint later - and glanced back at the two. "Is he coming with?"
Interested. I'll lurk around for a while to see how this one goes.
Givin' this a little bump
If she hadn't already been alerted by Kir's howling, then the loud thud that echoed in the silence of her apartment certainly would have. Aurora turned, eyes wide and hand raised, ready to wield the can as a weapon against this intruder. She was certain she would be able to handle herself against some goon... Unless they had Pokemon, then she would run into some trouble. She had her own, but two years simply living a leisurely life had diminished her Pokemon's urge to fight and she wouldn't know how to order them to fight. Not anymore.

Steeling herself, she took careful steps inside. Kir was crouched in front of someone with his lips curled back in an intimidating snarl. She ran a hand through his fur in appreciation at apprehending their intruder before she turned to actually look at said intruder. Now, Aurora wasn't an idiot. She may not have been kept up to date with the news, but she recognized a gijinka when she saw one. "Fuck!"

She had a gijinka in her apartment. If she squinted and gave it a little thought, she would have probably been able to identify exactly what kind of gijinka it was, but only one thing rang in her mind. Gijinkas were illegal, and she had far too much to lose if the police thought she was harbouring them. "Fuck," she repeated, the can forgotten as it fell on the floor. Her agitation seemed to only make Kir's grow, and she could see from her peripheral that both Karika and Anja were getting anxious as well.

So, she collected herself. She took a deep breath and glanced at the gijinka - a female Ariados, she now realized. "I do not want anything to do with you. Leave now, or I'll-" She paused. An Ariados...

Her eyes widened. It had been a passing thing, but she saw the poster. "You! You have a bounty on your head. A big bounty."
Mina arrived at the motel room's doorstep nearly half an hour past noon. She had been the one to set their meeting time - as per Ilima's instruction - as she knew how easily distracted she could be, especially in the early morning when the Comfey looked their best in the flattering dawn lighting. To add to that, whenever she sat down to do her work, it would take her hours before she could actually remind herself that she had somewhere to be. This was usually accompanied by a growling stomach stating its need for sustenance; as such, a meeting during lunch time.

She didn't bother knocking, and instead turned the knob as easily as if she was walking into her own room. The loose shirt she'd chosen for the day - a white tee she'd bought from a couple of rather amusing Team Skull grunts which had the word 'pain' written in their signature graffiti script, to which she added a letter t at the end in pink ink - fluttered in the light breeze that wafted from outside and into the rather spacious motel room.

She eyed the two occupants, but settled her gaze on the suited woman who had greeted her in a rather formal fashion. Mina raised a hand up in a half-hearted wave. "Hallo." She tilted her head and examined the woman - Anasomething, if she remembered correctly. Oh! Her eyes widened and she held her hands out in front of her, capturing the woman in a frame. "That's a great composition! You'll have to model for me after this."

She offered a small smile that quickly died back to her usual bored expression. Right. She could already hear Ilima's voice in her head, remind her to get back to business... and to actually create a trial. She'd deal with the latter at a later date, but she had exactly what the International Police wanted. "Got ya covered." With that, she presented the canvas she'd been carrying. On it, one could clearly see the scenery of the cityscape - bustling with energy, but relatively calm and quiet - transition, from the left side of the canvas to the right, into something darker. The image of an Ultra Wormhole swirled above the buildings, people watched from the ground -the awe and fear in their eyes so clearly evident even in the small rectangular space - and two beasts that Mina had never seen before held the center of attention. Mina hadn't even realised what she'd put onto the canvas until after it was done, surprised at the chaos surrounding her and the additions to her picture.
Aurora rolled her shoulder as she stepped out of the elevator. The corridor was quiet, with the occupants of the other two doors aside from hers apparently doing overtime in their respective companies. She had to admire their perseverance, but there was no need for overtime when you could finish your work and more in the alloted time. She mentally patted herself on the back before fishing the keycard from her bag.

As soon as the lock pinged and she pushed the door open, a bolt of yellow and black lunged at her. The force pushed her back, but experience had taught her to balance herself in preparation for the Pokemon that had been so eagerly awaiting her return. Kir was not big, but he was heavy and his fur had faint traces of static electricity that made Aurora's hair stand.

"Missed you too, bud," she stated with a chuckle, petting him on the head affectionately. A small yellow creature peaked from behind the fur and Aurora had to suppress a smile. "You too, Anja."

She peered past them to the glinting aquarium in the moonlight. In the faint light, she could barely pinpoint the serpentine figure held within. "Miss me, Karika?" A quiet "tic" echoed in the silence, and Aurora allowed a laugh as she shut the door behind her. Kir was quick to strut back to his throne, watching Aurora deposit her things on the couch with some interest. The Joltik jumped from her fellow electric Pokemon and wandered back into the kitchen, following the only human in the apartment.

Aurora briefly considered heating up some leftovers, but decided against it. Instead, she pulled a soda pop from the fridge and brought it out to the balcony. Six stories up, she had a wonderful view of the lights in a city that was as alive in the evening as it was in the morning. The cool, evening air was calming, and not for the first time, Aurora was thankful for everything that Unova had given her.

Her hum of appreciation was cut short by the sight of something moving in her peripheral. She turned, but couldn't see anything. Had that just been her imagination?
Name: Aurora Serpik
Age: 21

Appearance:

Personality:
The confidence from her youth may have been diminished by her defeat, but she still takes pride in her ability to do her work and impress her superiors. This, combined with the ambition that still burns with a fiery passion within her, has led to her constant promotions within the company. One might think that her success would have earned her enemies within her coworkers, but her aloof and charming personality has maintained her connections with them. She still enjoys being the center of attention - although she's more careful now to take care of the fragile sense of "popularity" that she craves - and appreciates the companionship her friends offer. So far, Aurora's world seems to work out for her, but she feels like she'll never be able to shake away the feeling of shame and disgust at her past life as a Pokemon Trainer.

Background:
Aurora received her first Pokemon at the age of fifteen, given to her by her father, and grew starry-eyed with dreams of becoming Sinnoh's new Pokemon Champion. She blazed through the first few gym battles, thinking that nothing could stop her climb to success, but when she reached the fifth gym of the region, she found her dreams mercilessly crushed. It was a landslide victory for the gym leader after a show of overconfidence and haughtiness in Aurora's part. To make matters worse, Aurora's father had been watching. She had been unable to bear the shame and humiliation of the defeat, and despite her father's soothing words, she found that she was unable to pursue battling with Pokemon.

Nearly three years passed with Aurora helping out at their family's Pokemon Day Care, but the sight of aspiring Trainers proved to be too difficult to bear. Her saving grace came when a friend of her father's offered her an office job in one of the many businesses located in Castelia City, Unova. She jumped at the opportunity and enjoyed the feeling of a new start that travelling to another region offered. Still, she did not start battling with the two Pokemon she'd brought with her. Instead, her focus fell on her work. It wasn't utopia, but it was better than wallowing in regret and anger. She preferred it.

Aurora distanced herself from news about Pokemon as much as possible, and so she was one of the last few to find out about the existence of Gijinka. It intrigued her, but she didn't pursue the topic. She had to admit, though, that the offered money for rogue Gijinkas was tempting, but she had no means - or motivation - to join the hunt.

Party:
We Will Carry On!

A new development has arisen in the Pokemon world - Gijinkas. These Pokemon/human hybrids astound the world after they appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Some love them, amazed by what they could do, but many feared and hated them. They were anomalies, disgusting abominations meant to be hunted. A is one such Gijinka that has eluded the grasp of their perpetrators for months. The leader of the organization hunting down Gijinkas has had enough and has placed a huge bounty on A's head - one billion Pokedollars. This leads A exhausted and beaten to find haven in B's home. Will B help them, or surrender them for the huge reward?
Well, if I'm gonna try to play mina, she'll definitely have UB knowledge.

Do you want to discuss this more in pm or ?
Gosh I love Anabel. I'm currently on my second playthrough of the game, and I can't wait to battle her again.

Just a question: Does the character that interacts with Anabel need to know about the Ultra Beasts too?

Anyway, I'm interested. I don't usually play canon characters but I really wanna see how playing as Mina could go.
